Summary of Onerations: We112T-27 is currently a producer completed in the A2-3 & C4-sands through the 7" production casing with 3-1/2" tubing to surface. The CTD sidetracks will be renamed 2T-27A & AL1. 2T-27A will target the A2-sand, and 2T-27AL1 will target the A3-sand to access reserves from currently ~ undrained fault blocks west of 2T-27. A cement plug will abandon the existing perforations, and a 2.80" pilot hole will be a drilled on the high-side of the 7" casing to a depth of approximately 9020' MD. A retrievable monobore whipstock will then be set at 8972' MD between the A3 and C4-sand perfs for a high-side kickoff. The 2T-27A completion is planned for a 2-3/8" slotted liner with a liner-top aluminum billet for the KOP for the AL1 lateral at ~9,550' MD on the west side of fault. The completion for 2T-27AL1 will consist of a 2-3/8" slotted liner with the liner top brought up into the existing 3-1/2" tailpipe to approximately 8863' MD. Pre-Rig Work • E-Line; Shoot holes at ~8854' MD in the tubing tail (end of tubing tail at 8869') to put cement across the tail • CTU: Mill out the 2.75" D-nipple (8859'MD) to 2.80" with a left-hand motor • SL: Slick-Line: Load tbg & IA w/ diesel, DGLV's. MIT-IA • CTU: Lay in cement plug from 9037' RKB to the 3%2" tubing tail, target TOC 8864' MD at the perfs in the 31/2" tubing tail. • SL: Tag TOC and PT to 1500# ~ ~~~ 6~1~ ~~ ^~ c,, : ~-r..e.s s c-Q -f ee~s ~ `~' W ~ ~ 6~ ~r~~~~ ~ ,~ ~ -~ ~-~- ~-L-~ ~r Page 1 of 1 8/20/2009 • • ~c~~t~C~-~h~~ltp~ ConocoPhillips (Alaska) Inc. -Kup2 Kuparuk River Unit Kuparuk 2T Pad 2T-27 Permit To Drill: 095-036 API: 50-103-20217-00 Baker H ug hes I NTEQ Definitive Survey Report ~A~C~i~ ~~~#~~~ i ~ 10 August, 2009 ~rrc~cv~i~lips Kuparuk River Unit Kuparuk 2T Pad 2T-27 2T-27 2T-27 Map System: US State Plane 1983 Geo Datum: North American Datum 1983 Map Zone: "'~ Alaska Zone 4 Welf ~ 2T-27 Well Position +N/-S 0.00 ft +E/-W 0.00 ft Position Uncertainty 0.00 ft -27 50.00 8,925.00 2T-27 Gyro (2T-27) 8,967.57 9,190.43 2T-27 (2T-27) ConocoPhillips ~'~ Definitive Survey Report BAKER N~6HES ` Local Go-ordinate Referenc~: <We112T-27 ' Np Reference. 2T-27 @ 122.OOft (2T-27) ~ ~ MD Reference: '2T-27 @ 122.OOft (2T-27) Narth Referencs: True • ~ ' Suru~y;Calculation Methad: 'Minimum Curvature ,' [~dtap8sg: 'EDM Alaska Prod v16 _ ..,K~ ~..~ :e=~.-.. ,~r. Well 2T-27 AOGCC Permit 195-036 Requested Action: ConocoPhillips Alaska, Inc. (CPAI) proposes to plug the perforations on this oil producer to prepare the well for a coiled tubing sidetrack. Recommendation: I recommend approval of Sundry Application 309-297 to allow CPAI to perform this operation. Discussion: CPAI proposes to plug the perforations in the subject well to prepare the well for a coiled tubing dual lateral sidetrack to target the A2 and A3 sands in a different, currently untapped, fault block to the west of the existing well in the Kuparuk River Oil Pool. The well was originally drilled and completed in 1995 and began sustained production in October of that year. Production continues to this day. Oil production peaked at over 2,400 bopd in the first month of production, but dropped rapidly and was down to 500 BOPD a year later. Production has typically been below 200 BOPD since July 1999. Cumulative production from the well is approximately 1.15 MMBO from the A2, A#, and C4 sands. Several attempts have been made to improve production from the well including a fracture stimulation in April 1998 and adding perforations in March 2002, and Apri12007. None of these attempts yielded any long term benefits to the well. Over the past two years production has averaged less than 100 BOPD. Conclusion: The current well is marginal at best and CPAI has made several attempts to improve the well, but they have all met with failure. Therefore, the prudent course of action for this well is to a11ow CPAI to abandon the existing wellbore and allow the well to be sidetracked to access the currently untapped reserves in the neighboring fault block. Therefore, I reco end that CPAI's proposed activities for the subject well be approved. D.S. Rob Sr. Reservoir Engineer September l, 2009 I~a41 ~~11 /I/~t`.4L ~. ProActive Diagnostic Services, Inc. Supervisor FROM: Lou Grimaldi, ~- SUBJECT: Petroleum Inspector EBXJDHCD.DOC Diverter inspection Parker rig 245 Arco well # 2T-27 Kuparuk River field PTD # 95-36 Saturday~ April 8, 1995:, I witnessed the Diverter function test on Parker rig 245, drilling Arco well # 2T-27 in the Kuparuk River field. The function test went well. ! found the layout of the lines and preventer to be properly laid out. The vent extended approximately 80' from the sub-base towards the off side of the pad. Prevailing winds were in such a direction as to preclude blowback towards the rig. A recharge on the accumulator took 3 minutes and 6 seconds which is slightly high but within normally acceptable time. The area surrounding the rig was clean and orderly. The vent line was not secured well enough at the end and will be chained down to a to a wieghted cuttings bucket placed under the end of the vent line. Maximum anticipated surface pressure is calculated using a surface casing leak-off of 13.5 ppg EMW and a gas gradient of 0.11 psi/ft. This shows that formation breakdown would occur before a surface pressure of 1,705 psi could be reached. Therefore, ARCO Alaska, Inc. will test the BOP equipment to 3000 psi. The nearest well to 2T-27 is 2T-23. As designed, the minimum distance between the two wells would be 60'@ 700' MD. Incidental fluids developed from drilling operations will be hauled to the nearest permitted disposal well or will be pumped down the surface/production casing annulus of an existing well. That annulus will be left with a non-freezing fluid during any extended shut down (> 4 hr) in pumping operations. The 2T-27 surface/production casing annulus will be filled with diesel after setting 7" and prior to the drilling rig moving off of the well. If isolation is required per regulations on significant hydrocarbons, the annulus will later be sealed with cement from the surface shoe to the base of the permafrost, with Arctic pack fluid or diesel from the base of the permafrost to the surface. Risks in the 2T-27 drilling area include lost circulation and high pressures in the Kuparuk formation. Lost circulation above the Kuparuk will be addressed with lost circulation material (LCM) and reduced circulating rates as needed. The 7" casing will be topset above the Kuparuk and a 5" liner run to TD if lost circulation cannot be controlled with LCM and reduction of circulating pressure alone. Efforts to reduce Kuparuk geopressure at the target location and careful analysis of pressure data from offset wells show that a mud weight of 11.0 ppg will provide sufficient overpressure to safely drill, trip pipe, and cement. The 9-5/8" casing shoe will be tested to an equivalent mud weight of 12.5 ppg upon drilling out of the surface casing. *Spud mud should be adjusted to a FV between 50-80 sec/qt to drill gravel beds. ~ EL.
