Sone in Arctic Slope Wells
Please have all paleo and palynological correspondence addressed
to EC, rather than Mr. Sweet,.
Sidewall senpies were taken through the Lower CretAceous radioactive
sone in the Southeast Eileen and also in th£<Tc>ollF"^o7~S-^<<!llgr;~> If
there is enough of these saiiples left, it ai^ be in^^r^tinffto
have thsa analysed as to radioactive corxtent. It night be possible
for us to pick thia zone in the future while drilling on the basis
of some sort of radioactive detection on the ditch.
Please let ne know what you think of this and if these samples can
• be analyzed..?

In reference to the subject drill-site the following stipulations are
required to preserve and protect fish and game resources'
1. Prior to the start of drilling, a gravel pad of thickness
sufficient to prevent degradation of permafrost will be
const~ uc,.ed.
2. This pad xill be diked to prevent drainage into the adjacent
Kuparuk River and to prevent flooding by this stream.

3. Prior to the beginning of drilling; a-sump '=~'~'
to contain all waste fluids will be constructed. This sump
must.be lined with material impervious to oil and oil products
at all seasons during the year. Prior to abandonment of the
site~ the sump must be cleaned of all oil and covered.
-4. The operator must dispose of all waste., including garbage, by
burning, with non-combustible material and un-burned residue
disposed of in a manner and in a location acceptable to the
Alaska Department of Fish and Game~ i.e., in some locations
burial may be required, in others removal from the site may
be necessary.
5. Sewage and waste water will be disposed of by lagooning~ or the
cesspool-septic tank method. No stream or body of water will
have any se'4age or waste water added to it.
