The corrosion inhibitor is engineered to prevent water from entering the annular space and causing external corrosion that could result in a surface casing leak to atmosphere. The attached spreadsheet represents the well name, API and PTD numbers, top of cement depth prior to filling and volumes of corrosion inhibitor used in each conductor. As per previous agreement with the AOGCC, this letter and spreadsheet serve as notification that the treatments took place and meet the requirements of form 10 -404, Report of Sundry Operations. MILNE POINT, ALASKA TO: Hendrix FROM: Matthew Linder WELL# B-25i Main Category: E-Line Sub Category: USIT Io~ and Perf. Operation Date: 1/1/98 I Objective: Initial USIT log and perf of Kuparuk C and B sands. Operation: USIT record: Rig up SWS on Nabors 22-E. RIH with GR/CCL/USIT logging tools on marked line. At 9000' start logging down at 100' fpm to 12134'. Did not tag bottom with logging tools but, will tag bottom with perf gun. Began up pass at 30' fpm to 11850'. Dropped back and logged repeat pass from 12134'-9980'. Field interpretation showed good I~ond from 12134' up to the Kuparuk interval at 11835'. Poor bond was recorded throughout the Kuparuk interval from 11835'-11726'. Good bond returned from 11726'-11200'. Good to moderate bond was noted from 11200'-10640'. Free pipe was noted from 10640' to end of USIT logging interval at 9980'. Continued logging collars and recording gamma rays to 7350'. POOH for perf guns. Lay down USIT tools, pick up lubricator and 4.5" perf guns. Perf record: Called for radio silence. Armed guns. Pressure tested lubricator to 1000 psi. Correlated perf interval picked off LWD back to GR/CCL from USIT log. RIH to 11536', logged up and tied into short joints. Drop back and tag PBTD at 12142'. Logged up and into position. CCL to top shot = 4 feet. Set CCI: at 11802', top shot will be 11806'. Fired perf guns. Good indication of shot. Perforated interval from 11806'-11836' (30'). Logged off. POOH. Rig down. Conclusion: Ran GR/CCL/USIT log on marked line. Correlated perf intervals from LWD depths back to'USIT mark line depths. Perforated Kuparuk Cand B sand intervals from 11806'-11836' using SWS 4.5", 5 spf, 60 degree phasing, DP' charges, EHD: .46", TTP= 34.58". Complete well with 2-7/8" tubing. 3. Install Surface Lines and Wellhouse and turn well over to production. (End of Nabors 22E operations) MP B-251 Well Plan PAGE 3 1 1 Nov 97 DRILLING HAZARDS AND RISKS: See the latest Milne Point B-Pad Data Sheet prepared by Pete Van Dusen for information on B pad. The MPU PE group MAY be perforating, hydraulic fracturing and cleaning out wells shortly after the rig drills and completes them. This will make the near rig area congested and as a result potentially hazardous. Ensure personnel use caution moving around adjacent production activities. 1. Hydrates: NO HYDRATES HAVE BEEN ENCOUNTERED ON ANY WELLS DRILLED AT MILNE POINT 'B' PAD TO DATE. If hydrates are encountered the cement program will be modified to include a Permafrost C tail on the second stage to ensure a high quality cement seal above the hydrate zones. Also, weighted spacers will be used during the cement displacement to maintain the hydrostatic head on the formation so as to minimize the movement of hydrates into the wellbore. 2. Close Approach: There are no close approach problems with MP B-25i. 3. Lost Circulation: There have not been and significant lost circulation incidents reported on any of the B Pad wells. HOWEVER, THE STUCK PIPE 2 STUCK PIPE INCIDENTS OCCURED WHILE RUNNING 7" casing. Be especially careful while running 7" casing in order to avoid breaking down any formations. 4. Stuck Pipe Potential: There have been several STUCK PIPE incidents on Milne Point 'B' Pad. B-4, B-09, and B-23 all experienced stuck pipe incidents. These wells were drilled in 1982, 1985, and 1989 respectively. Be especially cautious in the interval between 6800' - 7000' TVD. B-09 and B-23 experienced stuck pipe incidents while running 7" casing. REFER TO THE PAD DATA SHEETS FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THE STUCK PIPE INCIDENTS. If heavy gravels are encountered while drilling the surface hole section, operations should be immediately stopped while the mud funnel viscosity is increased to 150 cp and maintained through the gravel section. 5. Formation Pressure: THE KUPARUK IS EXPECTED TO BE NORMALLY PRESSURED. There has been gas injection in the area around MP B-25i. The expected pore pressure for this well is 9.6 ppg EMW (3535 psi @ 7083' TVDSS) in the KUPARUK sands. 6. Directional Drillinq Concerns MP B-25i will be another 12-1/4" by 8-1/2" hole to TD at 12,291' md. KOP is 300' md and a variable build rate from that point will yield a sail angle of 62.30° at 2,870' md. At 10,096' md the well will begin to drop until a final angle of 30° is reached. The 30° angle will be held through the reservoir on on to TD. MP B-25i will have a horizontal displacement of 7722'. 7. Cement Surface hole will be cemented in 2-stages. A 'C' cement for the second stage tail cement will be incorporated into the cementing program only if hydrates are encountered. The 8-1/2" hole will be cemented in a single stage to bring cement 1000' md above the top of the Kuparuk 'C' Sands.
