Proposed plan for MPU F-22L1 & F-22L1-01 Injector: Prior to drilling activities, a workover tubing swap will install 4-1/2" tubing and obtain a CBL log. After the tubing swap, a 4- 1/2" x 7" Whipstock will be set pre-rig with E-line in the 7" casing (if unable to set with E-line because of inclination, will set with the rig). The parent perforations will remain open. See the F-22 Sundry request for complete pre-rig details. A ~2,994’ MD coil tubing drilling, dual lateral, sidetrack will be drilled with the Nabors CDR2 rig. The rig will move in, test BOPE and kill the well. If unable to set whipstock pre-rig, the rig will set the whipstock. A single string window exit + 10’ o f rathole will be milled. The first lateral (F-22L1) will kick off in the Kuparuk D, build and land in the Kuparuk A. The well wi ll continue in the Kuparuk A to TD. The lateral will then be completed with 2-7/8" L-80 slotted liner with a liner top billet. The second lateral (F-22L1-01) will then kick off the liner top billet and drill a second lateral in the top of the Kuparuk A. The lateral will then be completed with a 2-7/8” L-80 slotted liner from liner top to TD. The following describes the work planned. A wellbore schematic of the current well and proposed sidetrack is attached for reference. Pre-Rig Work: 1. Reference MPU F-22 Sundry submitted in concert with this PTD request 2. General work scope of Pre-Rig work: a. Rig: Pull 2-7/8” existing completion b. E-Line: CBL Log c. Rig: Run 4-1/2” new completion d. E-line: Set whipstock (if possible) Rig Work (scheduled to begin April 2021): 3. MIRU and test BOPE 250 psi low and 3,500 psi high (MASP of 2,474 psi) a. Test against swab and master valves (No TWC) b. Load pits with drilling fluid c. Open well and ensure zero pressure 4. Set 4-1/2" x 7" Whipstock (if unable to set pre-rig with E-line because of inclination) a. Top of planned whipstock 15,876’ MD. b. Bottom of planned whipstock 15,894’ MD. 5. Mill 3.80” single string window (out of 7”) plus 10’ of rathole. a. Top of planned window (whipstock pinch point) 15,881’ MD. b. Mill window with a 0.5-1.0° bend motor c. MPD or pressure deployment is not required for the window milling runs d. Parent well pressure to be confirmed with pre-rig SBHPS 321-029 24 hour notice to AOGCC to witness. Sundry PTD221-005 6. Managed Pressure Drilling: The history of CTD at KRU in the Kuparuk reservoir, has demonstrated the benefits of a managed pressure drilling technique. Due to uncertainties about the bottom hole pressures and to aid in wellbore stability, managed pressure drilling techniques will be employed on this well. The intent is to provide constant bottom hole pressure by using drilling fluid weight in combination with annular friction losses and applied surface pressure. Constant BHP will be utilized to reduce pressure fluctuations to help with hole stability. Applying annular friction and choke pressure also allow use of lighter drilling fluid and minimizes fluid losses and/or fracturing at the end of the long well bores. A MPD choke for regulating surface pressure is located between the well control choke manifold and the mud pits and will be independent of the well control choke. Deployment of the BHA under trapped wellhead pressure will be necessary. Pressure deployment of the BHA will be accomplished utilizing the 3” Pipe/Slip rams (see attached BOP configurations). The annular preventer will act as a secondary containment during deployment and not as a stripper. Operating parameters and fluid densities will be adjusted based on real-time bottom hole pressure measurements while drilling and shale behavior. The following scenario is expected for this well: MPD Pressure at the MPU F-22L1 & L1-01 Planned Window (15,881’ MD - 7,120’ TVD) Pumps On Pumps Off A Target BHP at Window (ppg)4,369 psi 4,369 psi 11.8 B Annular friction - ECD (psi/ft)953 psi 0 psi 0.06 C Mud Hydrostatic (ppg)3,221 psi 3,221 psi 8.7 B+C Mud + ECD Combined 4,174 psi 3,221 psi (no choke pressure) A-(B+C)Choke Pressure Required to Maintain 306 psi 1,148 psi Target BHP at window and deeper Operation Details: Reservoir Pressure: x The reservoir pressure is expected to be 3,184 psi at 7100’ TVDSS (8.6 ppg equivalent). x Maximum expected surface pressure with gas (0.10 psi/ft) to surface is 2,474 psi. Mud Program: x Drilling: Minimum mud weight of 8.7 ppg KCL with Geovis for drilling. This weight is overbalanced to expected pore pressure. Managed pressure can also be used to maintain overbalance if necessary. x Completion: Minimum mud weight 8.7 ppg KCl to be used for liner deployment (11.8 ppg brine may be used to maintain constant bottom hole pressure while running liner). Disposal: x All cuttings & mud generated during drilling operations will be hauled to the Milne Point “B” pad G&I facility. Hole Size: x 4-1/4” hole for entirety of the drilled lateral. Liner Program: Note: CTD Managed Pressure Drilling used to monitor bottomhole pressures. DLB If a significantly (> ~0.5 ppg) over pressured fault block is drilled, AOGCC will require 1-1/2 wellbore volumes of KWF be stored on drill site. F-22L1 x 2-7/8”, 6.5#, L-80 slotted liner: 16,045’ MD – 16,820’ MD F-22L1-01 x 2-7/8”, 6.5#, L-80 slotted liner: 15,731’ MD – 18,100’ MD x No Cement. x The primary barrier for this operation: a minimum EMW of 8.4 ppg (overbalanced) x A X-over shall be made up to a safety joint including a TIW valve for all tubulars ran in hole. Well Control: x BOP diagram is attached. MPD and pressure deployment is planned. x Pipe rams, blind rams and the CT pack off will be pressure tested to 250 psi and to 3,500 psi. x The annular preventer will be tested to 250 psi and 3,500 psi. x Exemption request to 20 AAC 25.036 - Liner rams in the BOPE. A 2-3/8” safety joint will be utilized while running 2- 7/8” slotted liner. The desire is to keep the same standing orders for the entire liner run and not change shut in techniques (run safety joint with pre-installed TIW valve). When closing on a 2-3/8” safety joint 2 sets of rams will be available, above and below the flow cross providing better well control option. Directional: x See attached directional plan. x Maximum planned hole angle is 103°, inclination at kick off point is 34°. x Magnetic and inclination surveys will be taken every 30 ft. No gyro will be run. x Distance to nearest property line – 7,100’ x Distance to nearest well within pool – 1,900’ Logging: x MWD directional, Gamma Ray, and Resistivity will be run through the entire open hole section. x Real time bore pressure to aid in MPD and ECD management. Perforating: x No perforating, slotted liner. Anti-Collision Failures: x No failures. Hazards: x MPU F-pad is not considered a high H2S pad. The highest recorded H2S well on the pad was from MPU F-69 (47 ppm) in 2009. The H2S hazard while drilling MPU F-22L1 & F-22L1-01 is considered low. x Overall Lost circulation risk is considered medium. x No fault crossings planned x Wellbore stability in the Kuparuk D at kickoff. This risk will be managed with managed pressure drilling and holding constant bottom hole pressure. I seek clarification on the API number. The 50‐029‐22773‐00‐00 motherbore refers to F‐09 in our DB. When I look up F‐22 motherbore, I get 50‐029‐22632‐00‐00. I assume that the well names on the PTD are correct but that the API no. needs to be corrected? Thanks, Dave B.
