The sidetrack, J-15B, will kick off from a window milled in the Sag River formation after removal of the existing cemented 2 7/8" liner. /'' A cement evaluation log was run on the existing liner and the top of cement was determined to be at approx. 10,636' MD. A chemical/c~t will be made at this point and the free liner will be recovered. Drilling coil will then use a full bore "Piranha" mill to remove approx. 84 ft of the cemented 2 7/8" liner to a depth of approx. 10,720' such that a mechanical whipstock can be used for an exit in the Sag River formation. The following describes work planned to prep for sidetracking and is submitted as an attachment to Form 10-403. A schematic diagram of the proposed sidetrack is attached for reference. 1. A tubing calliper on 2/14/02 confirmed good condition above TOL at 5609'. An MIT-IA was successful on 4/09/02. 2. The well will be killed with 2% KCI and a cast iron bridge plug will be set at approx. 11,130' MD (8707'ss) to isolate existing 2 7/8" perfs. 3. E-line will make a chemical cut of the 2 7/8" liner at top of cement at approx. 10,636'. /' 4. Service coil will latch and pick up on the severed 2 7/8" liner to ensure that the chemical cut was successful. Service coil will not pull this pipe. 5. Drilling coil will pull the severed liner then proceed with full bore milling to remove the remaining cemented 2 7/8" to the proposed KOP for the new sidetrack. Steps 2-4 will be performed approximately August 1, 2002. Drilling coil is scheduled to pull severed liner, mill remaining liner, set whipstock, drill and complete J-15B on Sept. 1,2002. FILE NO: P. !. Supervisor ~,'~-~ FROM: Larry Wade, ~,~/~ SUBJECT: Petroleum Inspector .DOC BOP Test Nordic/Dowetl BPX PBU J-15A PTD 98-175 Qctober 14,1998: ! traveled to BPX M-Pad to witness a BOP test on Nordic/Dowell coil tubing drilling rig. The testing went well except that we had to service the choke manifold valves. The rig seems to be in good shape but undermanned. There are 2 Nordic hands and 2 Dowell hands per shift and there are many times that they could use more help such as running liner and transferring fluids. The cost of finding reserves versus a conventional drilling rig is very economical. Part of the problem is having two companys with about equal responsibilites drilling a well. This sidetrack will be conducted in two phases. Phase 1: Squeeze abandonment cement and set whipstock packer: Planned for 9111198. · J-15 has passed a mechanical integrity test. The well has been drifted and a Kinley caliper has been run. · Existing perforations will be abandoned with approx. 25 bbls cement. Abandonment cement will be downsqueezed through the annulus of the 4 ¼" x 7" straddle in order to stabilize the 4 %" tubing for milling and to abandon existing perforations. Abandonment cement will be pressure tested to 1500 psi with AOGCC witness. This procedure is described in more detail in the Form 10-403. · A permanent whipstock packer will be set on ELine at approximately 11,150' MD. Phase 2: Mill Window and Drill Directional Hole: Planned for 9~22~98. Directional drilling coil tubing equipment will be rigged up and utilized to install the whipstock, mill the window and drill the directional hole as per attached plan. Mud Program: - Phase 1: Seawater - Phase 2: FIo-Pro (8.8 - 8.9 ppg) Casing Program: - 2 7/8", 6.16#, L-80, ST-L liner will be run from TD to approx. 10,850' MD and cemented with approx. 20 bbls. cement. The well will then be perforated with coil tubing conveyed guns. Well Control: - BOP diagram is attached. - Pipe rams, blind rams and the CT pack off will be pressure tested to 400 psi and to 4000 psi. - The annular preventer will be tested to 400 psi and 2000 psi. Directional - See attachments. - Kick Off: 11,163' MD (8,735' TVD ss) - TD: 11,960' MD (8,936'-I-VD ss) - Magnetic and inclination surveys will be taken every 30 ft. No gyro will be run. Logging · A Gamma Ray log will be run over all of the open hole section. · Memory CNL will be run in the 2 7/8" liner. KB.
