January 23, 1997 Matt Scheuring · Doyon 9 Operations Drilling Engineer 18-13A P&A Operations Summary Revision: 18-13 History Well 18-13 was originally drilled in November 1987 as a high angle well cutting across Zone lB. The well produced in December 1987 at 1,200 BOPD and subsequently improved to over 2,000 BOPD. In 1990 18- 13 began to be cycle produced. An August 1991 log showed that the GOC had moved down locally, leaving 15 feet of standoff left from the original 50 feet of standoff. In 1997 the well has been on-line 58% of the time, producing an average of 1,080 BOPD at 17,600 GOR. The well has a cumulative oil production of 2.86 MMBO. Well work options are not viable as there is a lack of shale breaks in the producing interval and the well has been completed with a slotted liner. The close proximity of the GOC will limit this wells production. The pro- posed side-track will not only improve standoff, but it will also replace a vertical well with a horizontal. Pre-Rig Operations: The objective of the pre-rig work is to ascertain the condition of the 9 5/8" casing presently in the hole; P&A all open perforations; and test the 9 5/8" pack offs. 1. Notify AOGCC of initiation prior to commencing any P&A operations. 2. NU on Well. 3. Make GR/JB run on 3~,~'' tubing. 4. RIH with coil and spot 120 sks. (24 bbls.) of class G, 15.8 ppg cement to place TOC @ 10180' MD. TOC should be no higher than 10180' MD so as not to interfere with pulling the tubing later. 5. Tag and pressure test cement P&A. 6. Pressure test 9 5/8" annulus to 3000 psi for 30 min to check for casing leak against cement. If pressure test fails, notify ODE immediately. 7. Test packoffs on tubing and 9 5/8" annulus, and carefully cycle Iockdown screws. 8. Freeze protect tubing. 9. Set BPV. 10. Clear location, dig out cellar, remove electrical lines, remove well house. The reason for the request is to cover the buildup interval with surface pipe to provide easier and less troublesome drilling at deeper intervals, especially over the Sadlerochit when the hole angles will be near 50°. Information contained in your letter and other information available to the Commission indicates that there are no potentially productive hydrocarbon zones above the 4445' TVD proposed'surface casing setting depth in well DS 18-13. Conservation Order No. 207, Rule 4, paragraph (b), which covers the Lisburne Pool, allows setting surface casing to 5000' TVD. We have also reviewed the requirements of Conservation Order No. 145, Rule 3, paragraph (c).~ Therefore, setting the surface casing at a TVD of 4445' in well DS 19-13 is approved provided no potential pay will occur above the casing setting depth. Pressure test casing to 3000 psi. 11) Run cased hole logs. 12) Clean out open hole to TD. Run multishot directional survey on last trip out of hole. Run 4-1/2" flush joint slotted liner to TD and set on packer with SBR 100' above 7" casing shoe. 13) RIH with SBR overshot and 3-1/2" tubing with SSSV. Stab overshot on SBR and land tubing. Pressure test tubing casing annulus. 14) Set BPV. ND BOPE and NU tree. Test tree to 5000 psi. Secure well and release rig. 15) Produce well through 4-1/2" slotted liner. Stimulate as required based upon production data. The annulus will be left with a non-freezing fluid during any extended interruption in the disposal process.
