Small volume, intermittent flaring was expected. It was not expected that the flare valve would go to full open at 13:20. The valve would not close. The large flow from the fully open flare valve slightly exceeded the capacity of the smokeless vertical flares by about 10%. Puffs of black smoke occurred at the 30" horizontal flare as PV -0611 periodically cycled open to vent the excess until 14:23. Function testing continued unsl 20:21. Action Taken Reduced production and then isolated the B slug catcher in order to stop flow through the wide open flare valve and to stop the - accompanytng puffs of black smoke. The event lasted for 72 minutes and was due to LPS compressors K-7000 and 7001 going into flare after hitting the discharge pressure set point which backs down the compressors speed. The flaring event stopped when rate was cut and one compressor was placed in manual to smooth out the speed swings. A flaring event occurred at GC1 starting at 01/02/2017 03:33 and stopping at 01/02/2017 23:59 with a volume of 713 (MSCF). The event was intermittent, lasted for 1226 minutes, and was due to high transit gas pressure caused by CGF's 1 &2 boosters tripping offline. The flaring event stopped when the gas transit pressure was lowered.
