Well 2T-29 was drilled and completed in 1995 as a 3-1/2" single completion injector. Since then, the well has been on injection, with no annular communication issues, supporting producing wells 2T-23 and 2T-40. The purpose of the 2T-29 CTD sidetracks will be to improve injection support to the patterns of the aforementioned producing wells and future CTD producing well, 2T-27A, by extending injection across faults into unsupported areas. The CTD rig, Nabors CDR2-AC, is scheduled to begin work on 2T-29 as early as October 2009. Prior to rig arrival, the following wellwork needs to be completed: Coil Tubing: - Mill out the 2.75" D-nipple at 10109' to 2.80" Slickline: - Tag fill and obtain a SBHP survey Eline: - Perforate the tubing tail (~10101'-10102' MD) Coil Tubing: - Lay in cement plug from PBTD into the tubing tail and up to the target top of cement at 10093' (the SAB-3 packer) (NOTE: kickoff point target depth is 10208') - Mill out excess cement & cement sheath in the tubing down to the tubing tail Slickline: - Tag top of cement and pressure test to 1500 psi Nabors CDR2-AC will then mi11 out a 2.80" pilot hole in the cement on the high side of the 7" casing allowing a monobore whipstock to be set. The whipstock will be set at ~10,208' and then the drilling of the laterals will begin. The well is currently shut-in and has been since February 2009. Attached to this Sundry Application for plugging the existing perforations in 2T-29 is a proposed schematic of the planned CTD laterals. Log Intvl2.: 10,338 Ft. (MD) Inspection Type : Corrosive and Mechanical Damage Inspection COMMENTS This caliper data is tied into the Tubing Tail Q 90,12t' (Driller's Depth). This log was run assess the condition of the tubing and liner vHth respect to intemal corrosive and mechanical damage. The caliper recordings indicate that the 3.5" tubing is in good to poor condition, with a maximum wall penetration of 40°~ recorded in an area of corrosion in joint 25 (825'). Recorded damage appears as corrosion with intermittent areas of isolated pitting. No significant areas of cross-sectional wail loss are recorded. Deposits restrict the L D. to 2.73" in joint 7 (222'). The caliper recordings indicate slight buckling from _1,200' to the end of the interval logged. The caliper recordings indicate that the 7" liner logged is in good to poor condition with respect to internal corrosive and mechanical damage, with wall penetrations from 32% to 45°~ recorded throughout a line of pits in joints 1, 2 and 3. No other significant wall penetrations are recorded throughout the liner logged. Crcxs- sectionalwall loss of 36% is recorded in an eroded perforation in joint 6 (10,298'). Deposits restrict the I.D. to 4.48" in joint 7 (10,330'). Graphs illustrating minimum recorded diameters on a joint-by joint basis of the 3.5" tubing and 7" finer logged are included in this report. ~~:~~~' AFB ~ 20~ 3.5" TUBING -MAXIMUM RECORDED WALL PENETRATIONS Corrosion (40%) Jt. 25 ~ 825 Ft. During the course of drilling the well, new Kuparuk net pay maps were developed based on other recent 2T wells. The maps indicated that the 2T-29 target location was close to a truncated edge of the A3 Sand. To increase our chances of finding adequate A3 net pay, ARCO moved the target 540' southeast away from the truncation edge. The new location is proposed at 1302' FSL, 1191' FWL, Sec. 35, T12N, R8E,'UM. The directional plan was adjusted based on the amount of well drilled at that point (4863'; 700' below the surface shoe). A new directional plot is attached showing the adjusted section. Robert Crandall with the AOGCC was notified by the Drilling Engineer, Denise Petrash, on 6/5/95 of the change to the approved permit. Mr. Crandall gave verbal approval of the change at that time. If you have any questions or comments regarding the attached procedure, please contact myself at 263-6206 or Denise Petrash at 263-4183. The permit to drill does not exempt you from obtaining additional permits required by law from other governmental agencies, and does not authorize conducting drilling operations until all other required permitting determinations are made. Blowout prevention equipment (BOPE) must be tested in accordance with 20 AAC 25.035. Sufficient notice (approximately 24 hours) of the BOPE test performed before drilling below the surface casing shoe must be given so that a representative of the Commission may witness the test. Notice may be given by contacting the Commission petroleum field inspector on the North Slope pager at 659-3607. Maximum anticipated surface pressure is calculated using a surface casing leak-off of 13.5 ppg EMW and a gas gradient of 0.11 psi/ft. This shows that formation breakdown would occur before a surface pressure of 1,703 psi could be reached. Therefore, ARCO Alaska, Inc. will test the BOP equipment to 3000 psi. The nearest existing well to 2T-29 is 2T-30. As designed, the minimum distance between the two wells would be 15.0' @ 500' MD. Incidental fluids developed from drilling operations will be hauled to the nearest permitted disposal well or will be pumped down the surface/production casing annulus of an existing well. That annulus will be left with a non-freezing fluid during any extended shut down (> 4 hr) in pumping operations. The 2T-29 surface/production casing annulus will be filled with diesel after setting 7" and prior to the drilling rig moving off of the well. If isolation is required per regulations on significant hydrocarbons, the annulus will later be sealed with cement from the surface shoe to the base of the permafrost, with Arctic pack fluid or diesel from the base of the permafrost to the surface. Risks in the 2T-29 drilling area include lost circulation and high pressures in the Kuparuk formation. Lost circulation above the Kuparuk will be addressed with lost circulation material (LCM) and reduced circulating rates as needed. The 7" casing will be topset above the Kuparuk and a 5" liner run to TD if lost circulation cannot be controlled with LCM and reduction of circulating pressure alone. Efforts to reduce Kuparuk geopressure at the target location and careful analysis of pressure data from offset wells show that a mud weight of 11.1 ppg will provide sufficient overpressure to safely drill, trip pipe, and cement. The 9-5/8" casing shoe will be tested to an equivalent mud weight of 12.5 ppg upon drilling out of the surface casing. *Spud mud should be adjusted to a FV between 50-80 sec/qt to drill gravel be~.E (~ E IV E D MAY 19 1995 Alaska 0il & Gas Cons, Commission Anchor~, '~ A;RC0 ALASKA, ICredted by : jones For: D PETRASH[ iDate plotted : 24-Feb-95 iPIot Reference is 29 Version #5. iCoordinates are in feet reference slot #29. i iTrue Verkical Depths are reference RKB.
