Rule 9 of the orders requires filing annual surveillance reports, which are attached hereto. We will schedule a meeting with AOGCC staff to discuss the reports in detail. In the interim, please let us know if you have any questions or require additional information regarding the attached. Sincerely, Dale Hoffman Attachments 3700 Centerpoint Dr., Suite 500 • Anchorage, AK 99503 e Main Line: 907-277-2700 o Fax: 907-343-2190 • www.caetusenergy.com C CAELUS Energy Alaska Annual Reservoir Surveillance Report Oooguruk-Kuparuk Oil Pool Oooguruk Field April 1, 2016 Table of Contents SUBJECT PAGE 1.0 Progress of the Enhanced Recovery Project.................................................................1 2.0 Results and Analysis of Reservoir Pressure Surveys within the Pool ........................1 3.0 Results and Analysis of Production and Injection Log Surveys, Tracer Surveys, Observation Well Surveys and Any Other Special Monitoring.....................................1 4.0 Review of Pool Production Allocation Factors and Issues Over the Year ..................2 5.0 Reservoir Management Summary..................................................................................2 ATTACHMENT A: Voidage Balance by Month of Produced Fluids and Injected Fluids 2015.4 ATTACHMENT B: Map of Kuparuk Well Locations................................................................5 ATTACHMENT C: Form 10-412 Pressure Report for Kuparuk................................................6 ATTACHMENT D: Kuparuk Reservoir Pressure Map — 2015 ..................................................7 Caelus Natural Resources Alaska, LLC 1.0 Progress of the Enhanced Recovery Project During 2015 there were no new drilling activities within the Oooguruk-Kuparuk Oil Pool (OKOP). There are currently five active wells (three producers and two injectors) and two inactive wells. One inactive well, ODSK-13, within the Ivik fault block, is currently shut-in following a rig workover and subsequent production and injection fall-off testing. Another, ODSN-40, in the Colville Delta fault block, is currently shut-in due to limited injection capacity. The ODSK-42Ai well slot and surface casing were reclaimed in 2015 for a Nuiqsut location in the southern Kalubik fault block. The ODSK-14 and ODSK-41 wells continued to produce throughout 2015. The ODSK-33 well was shut-in for the year due to high water cut. The ODSK-38i and ODSK-35i wells continued injection with both injectors performing as expected and capable of replacing off take. However, ODSK- 35A water injection has been suspended following the ODSN-01 workover in July, 2014 due to the close proximity of the toe of the well to the compromised casing in the ODSN-01 well. ODSK-35A injection will be restarted upon completion of the ODSN- 01A sidetrack in 2016. The locations of the OKOP wells are shown on Attachment B. Annual average daily Kuparuk production for 2015 was 550 BOPD. Total oil production from the OKOP during 2015 was 200,611 barrels and 8,392,913 barrels since field start- up. Average daily Kuparuk water injection for 2015 was 843 BWPD. Total water injection in the OKOP for 2015 was 307,721 barrels and 14,142,155 barrels since the start of the project. 2.0 Results and Analysis of Reservoir Pressure Surveys within the Pool Eight pressure surveys were conducted in five OKOP wells during 2015; the pressure survey results are presented in Attachments C and D. Overall the pressures in the Kalubik fault block indicate pressure stabilization due to historical voidage replacement. Pressures from the ODSK-13 injection and fall off test indicate the Ivik block has relatively low transmissibility and is not in hydraulic communication with the main Kalubik block development area. 3.0 Results and Analysis of Production and Injection Log Surveys, Tracer Surveys, Observation Well Surveys and Any Other Special Monitoring A chemical tracer program was initiated in May 2012 and completed in 2014. Tracers were injected into ODSK-35i and ODSK-38i. Within twenty months of initial injection tracer concentrations were observed in ODSK-33 and ODSK-14 from ODSK-35i. To date, ODSK-38i tracer has only been seen in minor amounts in ODSK-33. The data will be used to evaluate future potential injection conformance alternatives. Caelus Natural Resources Alaska, LLC Page 1 4.0 Review of Pool Production Allocation Factors and Issues Over the Year Production from the OKOP, Oooguruk-Nuiqsut Oil Pool (ONOP), and Oooguruk-Torok Oil Pool (OTOP) is commingled at the surface into a common production line. Allocation between the pools is based on ratio of total production for a pool to the total production for the Oooguruk Unit. The pool allocation factors for 2015 are: ONOP: 94.68% OKOP: 4.73% OTOP: 0.59% Theoretical production for individual wells for all pools is calculated on a daily basis. During 2015 wells were produced with chokes at 100% most of the time due to the capacity of the production line. Daily theoretical production for a well was calculated using the data from the most current well test and the amount of time a well was on production for a given day: Min ittesp,.0,1,,,,,r 1440 Minutes dory .vDai1VRatc(B0PD)„E,rrs = TheorcticalDaili,Production The daily allocation factor for the unit is calculated by dividing the actual total production for the day by the sum of the theoretical daily production for each individual well. Daily allocated production is assigned to each well by multiplying its theoretical daily production by the daily allocation factor. The average daily allocation factor for 2015 was 1.063. 5.0 Reservoir Management Summary The Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (AOGCC) issued pool rules under Conservation Orders No. 645, 596 and 597 for the OTOP, OKOP and ONOP, respectively. While there is no subsurface commingling, unitized substances produced from the three oil pools are commingled on the surface. Area Injection Order No. 33 authorizing the injection of fluids for enhanced oil recovery in the OKOP was issued by the AOGCC in 2008 and injection commenced in 2009. The OKOP production continued as projected from horizontal producers ODSK-14 and ODSK-41. ODSK-38i was the primary injector for the OKOP waterflood for this period as ODSK-35Ai remained shut-in to minimize interference with remedial casing repair work in the offset ODSN-01 well. ODSK-33 production, the dominant and first production well, has been shut-in due to high water -cut and significant hydraulic backout effects to other ODS wells. Because the OKOP is a mature dual porosity system, with Caelus Natural Resources Alaska, LLC Page 2 highly variable matrix permeability and open fracture networks, voidage replacement has been gradually reduced to minimize waterflood by-pass. As a result, the producing OKOP water oil ratio increases have slowed and oil production has remained stable with minimal gas oil ratio changes. A simulation model has been maintained and updated to assist in reservoir and flood management decisions in the OKOP. ODSK-13 was drilled in late 2011 as horizontal producer to test the thickness and productivity of the Ivik fault block. A workover was performed in 2013 to repair a failed SSSV. Production testing showed less than economic production rates and a short term injection test was conducted in 2013 and 2014. The well is now shut-in for long term pressure monitoring. Pressures from the ODSK-13 injection and fall-off test indicate the Ivik block is not in hydraulic communication with the main Kalubik block development area. Analyses of ODSK-13 oil samples show the asphaltene content is significantly higher than the Kalubik producing wells, which may explain the low productivity from the well. Integration of the ODSK-13 performance data with recent data collected while drilling to the Nuiqsut in this area is ongoing. ODSN-40, originally a Nuiqsut horizontal completion, had a workover in 2011 to convert it to a dedicated Kuparuk injector. This well was completed and injected into the Kuparuk formation within the Colville -Delta fault block in 2012 in an attempt to aid with pressure support and oil recovery into the ODSK-33 producer within the Kalubik fault block. The well is currently shut-in due to low injectivity. An additional four wells, ODSN-06i, ODSN-07i, ODSN-10i and ODSN-22, were drilled in 2015 and will be completed using mechanical diversion hydraulic fracture stimulations during the winter 2016 ice season. The locations of existing ONOP wells are shown on Attachment B. Three wells, ODSN-03i, ODSN-42B and ODSN-43, were fracture stimulated and placed on production during 2015. A high pressure breakdown stimulation was completed on ODSN-19i significantly improving injectivity. Additionally, a rig workover to repair the casing in ODSN-01 was done in 2015. Within the Kalubik fault block, ODSN-01, ODSN-24, ODSN-25, ODSN-31, ODSN-36, ODSN-37 and ODSN-42B continued to produce in 2015. The wells are supported by water and gas injection in ODSN-19i, ODSN-26i, ODSN-32i, and ODSN-34i. The ODSN-42B well successfully tested the productivity of the southern Kalubik fault block area. ODSN-16, ODSN-17 and ODSN-18 continued to produce throughout 2015 in the Colville Delta fault block, supported by water and gas injection in ODSN-23i and ODSN- 15i. The ODSN-10i well was drilled in the northwest area of the block near the truncation and will be completed during the 2016 fracturing season. Offset producers are planned following a successful test of the area. Within the Ivik fault block, ODSN-02, ODSN-04, ODSN-28 and ODSN-29 continued to produce in 2015. Three of these wells are the most productive wells in the ONOP to - date. Following a post-fracture clean-up period, production from the block has been proactively restricted by Caelus to minimize gas/oil ratio (GOR) increases until injection response is seen from ODSN-03i and ODSN-27i. Additionally, the ODN-07i well drilled in 2015 will be completed in 2016 and after a brief period of pre -production will provide additional injection in the block. ODSN-03i was the first ONOP injection well completed with a staged mechanical diversion hydraulic fracture treatment, similar to the prolific production wells in the block; initial performance indicates very good injectivity. ODSN- 07i was completed similarly. Development of the southwestern ONOP continued with the successful drilling and completion of the ODSN-43 well offsetting ODSN-48. Both wells were completed using staged mechanical diversion hydraulic fracture treatments and demonstrated high productivity. ODSN-48 was converted to injection in 2015. The ODSN-22 well was drilled in 2015 as the northern offset producer to ODSN-48i and will be completed in 2016. Additional development of the area is planned in 2016 and 2017. Annual average daily ONOP production during 2015 was 10,995 BOPD. Total oil production from the ONOP during 2015 was 4,013,186 barrels and is 14,014,634 barrels since field start-up thru 2015. Annual average daily ONOP injection during 2015 was 11,609 BWPD and 6,099 Mscfd. Cumulative water injection in the ONOP during 2015 was 4,237,423 barrels and 11,079,064 barrels since the start of the project. Total gas injection in the ONOP during 2015 was 2,226 MMscf and 6,183 MMscf since the start of the project. During 2015, Caelus Natural Resources Alaska, LLC Page 1 water and gas injection continued in the ONOP. Offset producing wells have seen GOR stabilization and arrest of production declines. Attachment A details the 2015 monthly voidage for the ONOP. 2.0 Results and Analysis of Reservoir Pressure Surveys within the Pool Thirty-two pressure surveys were completed in 18 wells. Initial static pressure surveys were completed in the three new Nuiqsut wells, ODSN-03i, ODSN-42B, and ODSN-43, in 2014. The details of the pressure tests and interpretation can be found in Attachments C and D. 3.0 Results and Analysis of Production and Injection Log Surveys, Tracer Surveys, Observation Well Surveys and Any Other Special Monitoring Well surveillance equipment was placed in the production liner of ODSN-42B to assess oil and water production conformance along the lateral via target fluid tracers, which were monitored and analyzed by collecting surface fluid samples over time. These data confirmed the effectiveness of the staged mechanical diversion hydraulic fracture stimulations showing relatively uniform contributions along the entire lateral. The tracers have also been used to assess hydraulic connectivity along the lateral to evaluate the need for coil tubing intervention to clear any sand or debris blocking the flow path. 4.0 Review of Pool Production Allocation Factors and Issues Over the Year Production from the ONOP, Oooguruk-Kuparuk Oil Pool (OKOP) and Oooguruk-Torok Oil Pool (OTOP) is commingled at the surface into a common production line. Area injection orders authorizing the injection of fluids for enhanced oil recovery in the Oooguruk-Kuparuk and Oooguruk-Nuiqsut reservoirs were issued by the AOGCC as Area Injection Orders No. 33 and 34, respectively. Injection commenced into both pools in 2009. During 2015 the ONOP Under -Saturated Water -Alternating -Gas (US -WAG) was expanded. The focus was to increase voidage replacement in all fault blocks by drilling new injection wells, converting existing pre -produced injectors, and performing high pressure breakdown treatments on existing injection wells. The ONOP flood will continue to be managed to maximize voidage replacement. Individual well and pattern surveillance data will be collected in all reservoirs to monitor performance versus expectations. Simulation models will be updated to assist in reservoir and flood management decisions. Injection operations were initiated on December 5, 2012 in ODST-46i and continued through 2015. Production continued from horizontal fracture stimulated producer ODST-39. ODST-45A and ODST-47 were shut-in throughout 2015 due to failed completion components; workovers are planned, but not yet scheduled for these wells. The locations of the existing OTOP wells are shown on Attachment B. Caelus Natural Resources Alaska, LLC (Caelus) sanctioned Phase 1 of the Nuna project (see Attachment C) which would access OTOP resources inaccessible from ODS in and near the Colville River Delta using extended reach drilling from Nuna Drill Site 1 (NDS1). The project lies two miles west of existing facilities at KRU Drill Site 3S (DS -3S). During the first quarter of 2015, Caelus installed NDS1, access road and gravel for the central production facility. These activities were followed by gravel thawing and shaping activities during the summer of 2015 with final civil expansion completed during fall 2015. Seawater injection continued in ODST-46i and the well was monitored pursuant to the rules of Area Injection Order 37 (AIO 37). The well demonstrated mechanical integrity while on seawater injection, but showed tubing to inner annulus communication while on gas injection. Additionally, the ODSN-48 wellbore was drilled within 1,000 ft of ODST- 46i and required remedial cementing operations in the intermediate casing string. Consequently, the ODST-46i well will not be placed in gas injection service. Attachment F, in compliance with AIO 37, Rule 9, details the well injection pressures and injection for the report period. Annual average daily Torok production for 2015 was 69 BOPD. Total oil production from the OTOP during 2015 was 25,138 barrels and is 810,550 barrels since field start- up through 2015. Torok water injection was limited to 28 days in 2015 due to drilling close approaches for Oooguruk-Nuiqsut Oil Pool (ONOP) wells ODSN-43, ODSN-22, and ODSN-10i. Daily average Torok water injection in 2015 was 832 BWPD. Cumulative water injection in the OTOP during 2015 was 23,298 barrels and 595,945 barrels since the start of the project. In 2015 no gas was injected in the OTOP. Total gas injection in the OTOP is 171 Mscf since the start of the project. Attachment A details the 2015 monthly voidage for the OTOP. 2.0 Results and Analysis of Reservoir Pressure Surveys within the Pool Six pressure surveys were conducted in four OTOP wells during 2015. The extended pressure build ups in both ODST-45A and ODST-39, coupled with the ODST-46i falloff data, suggest similar levels of depletion and continuity in this initial development area. The pressure measured in ODST-47 is consistent with the OTOP original reservoir Caelus Natural Resources Alaska, LLC Page 1 pressure. While drilling and casing the intermediate sections in ONOP wells ODSN-43, ODSN-22 and ODSN-10i there was no evidence of fracturing through or migration above the confining interval. Attachment D and E detail the surveys and relevant data. 3.0 Results and Analysis of Production and Injection Log Surveys, Tracer Surveys, Observation Well Surveys and Any Other Special Monitoring Extended shut-in bottomhole pressure data from ODST-47, ODST-45A and ODST-46i indicate good communication in the reservoir as evidenced by the equalization of the pressures over time (see Attachments D and E). 4.0 Review of Pool Production Allocation Factors and Issues Over the Year Production from the OTOP, Oooguruk-Kuparuk Oil Pool (OKOP) and Oooguruk-Nuiqsut Oil Pool (ONOP) is commingled at the surface into a common production line. Daily theoretical production for a well was calculated using the data from the most current well test and the amount of time a well was on production for a given day: Minutes p,.od„Cep xDailyRate (BOPD),,.e,,,es, = Theor•etica 1Duily Pr oduction 1440 Minutes day The daily allocation factor for the unit is calculated by dividing the actual total production for the day by the sum of the theoretical daily production for each individual well. Daily allocated production is assigned to each well by multiplying its theoretical daily production by the daily allocation factor. The average daily allocation factor for 2015 was 1.063. 5.0 Reservoir Management Summary The AOGCC issued pool rules under Conservation Orders No. 645, 596 and 597 for the OTOP, OKOP and ONOP, respectively. While there is no subsurface commingling, unitized substances produced from the three oil pools are commingled on the surface. Caelus Natural Resources Alaska, LLC Page 2 OTOP development progressed as planned. Production continues from horizontal fracture stimulated well ODST-39. ODST-45A remains shut-in in due to a failed ESP and packer vent valve; a rig workover is planned. ODST-47 is shut-in pending a rig workover to repair a mechanical failure of the lower completion during fracture stimulation treatment; the well has not produced to -date. Horizontal injection well ODST-46i was shut-in for most of 2015 due to close -approach drilling concerns for ONOP wells targeting the southern area of the ONOP. Consequently, ODST-39 has been shut-in during the majority of the year to minimize voidage; the well was on-line 98 days during 2015. A simulation model has been maintained and updated to assist in reservoir and flood management decisions in the OTOP.
