NOVEMBER 2, 2000 P M E E L E W A T E R IA L U N D ER THIS MARKER Memorandum State of Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission Re: Cancelled or Expired Permit Action EXAMPLE' Point McIntyre P2-36AXX API# 029-22801-95 This memo will remain at the from of the subject well file. Our adopted conventions for assigning APl numbers, permit numbers and well names did not specifically address expired or cancelled permits. This omission has caused some inconsistencies in the treatment of these kinds of applications for permit to ddil. Operators have asked us to adopt formal procedures for this class of permit application in order to prevent future database disparities. If a permit expires or is cancelled by an operator, the permit number of the subject permit will remain unchanged. The AP! number and in some instances the well name reflect the number of preexisting reddlls and or muitilaterals in a well. In order to prevent confusing a cancelled or expired permit with an active well or multilateral these case sensitive well identifiers will be changed for expired and cancelled applications for permits to ddll. The AP! number for this cancelled or expired permit is modified so the eleven and twelfth digits is 95. The well name for a cancelled or expired permit is modified with an appended xx. These procedures are an addendum to the AP! numt~ering methods described in AOGCC staff memorandum "Multi-lateral (welibore segment) Ddiling Permit Procedures, revised December 29, 1995. AOGCC database has been changed to reflect these changes to this permit. Statistical Technician EXPLORATION June 1, 1993 David W. As you are aware, although the well is officially classified as an exploratory well, it will be drilled from the Endicott Main Production Island (MPI). To date, no development wells drilled from the MPI have encountered any hazardous shallow gas zones. In BP's opinion, there is no evidence to suggest that shallow gas will be a factor in drilling SD-12. Finally, the bottom hole location is targeted on the down-thrown side of the field bounding Mikkelsen Bay Fault. Abnormally pressured sands are not expected to be encountered. This statement is based on infill development experience at Endicott as well as Sag Delta 02. Sag Delta 02 penetrated porous and permeable Kekiktuk / Kayak sands between 10980'- 12360' TVDSS. The sands were wet and not tested, however, the mud weight never exceeded 10.1 ppg, or .525 psi/ft gradient. No well "kicks" or swabbing was reported. Our current pressure estimates is that in SD-12, bottom hole pressure will be approximately 5500 psia at 11515' TVDSS. Planned mud weight is 9.8 ppg, which yields 5868 psia, a 368 psi overbalance.
