Our adopted conventions for assigning APl numbers, permit numbers and well names did not specifically address expired or cancelled permits. This omission has caused some inconsistencies in the treatment of these kinds of applications for permit to drill. Operators have asked us to adopt formal procedures for this class of permit application in order to prevent future database disparities. If a permit expires or is cancelled by an operator, the permit number of the subject permit will remain unchanged. The APl number and in some instances the well name reflect the number of preexisting reddlls and or multilaterals in a well. In order to prevent confusing a cancelled or expired permit with an active well or multilateral these case sensitive well identifiers will be changed for expired and cancelled applications for permits to ddll. The APl number for this cancelled or expired permit is modified so the eleven and twelfth digits is 95. The well name for a cancelled or expired permit is modified with an appended xx. These procedures are an addendum to the APl numbering methods described in AOGCC staff memorandum "Multi-lateral (weilbore segment) Ddlling Permit Procedures, revised December 29, 1995. Kill the well with 64 PCF spud mud. Set BRVs, nipple down the tree and nipple up the BORE. Pull existing 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" dual completion including the dual hydraulic packer at 4618' and single hydraulic packer set at 6616' · Abandon the existing perforations by down squeezing cement through cement retainers set at 6710', 6020' and 5050'. Set a cement retainer at 2700'. Mill a section in the 9-5/8" casing from 2500' to 2600'. Underream the section and lay a balanced plug from 2700' to 2400'. 5) / Test the casing to 1000 PSI. Kick off the plug and perform a leak off test at the casing shoe. 6) Directionally drill an 8-1/2" hole from 2500' to 7715' 7) lO) 11) 12) 13) 14) Run open hole logs. Run and cement a 7" liner from 2300' to 7715' Run a cement bond log in the 7" casing. Perforate and squeeze as necessary for zone isolation. Perforate the Hemlock zone at 8SRF using tubing conveyed guns. Conduct impulse test after perforating. Hydraulically fracture stimulate the Hemlock zone. Clean out to total depth. Perforate the "C" zone at 8SPF. Run dual 2-3/8" tubing completion and packer. Rig down and move off. NOTE: Should H2S be encountered, Unocal will conform to all requirements as set forth in 20 AAC 25.065.
