Endacott CTD Engineer Date: September 3, 2008 Re: Y-25 Sundry Approval CC: Well File Sondra Stewman/Terrie Hubble Sundry approval is requested to abandon perforations & slotted liner on well Y-25. "~" by Y-25A Objectives: • Establish offtake point to south of current wellbore. Test Zone 4 Section along upthrown side of N-S Down-To-West fault • Assess fluid saturations east of fault. Evaluate P-23i injection conformance and sweep efficiency. • Run 3 1/2" Cr scab liner up across corroded tubing from new production liner top to 6050' (just below GLM#5 in 5 1/2" tbg) • New production liner to position XO/kick-off point for future access to target identified to the west. Well History: Y-25 is a horizontal well drilled in 1988 to a Zone 4 target in the northwest section of the Y Pad area. It has cum'd 4.1 mmbo to date, last tested at 98% we and is currently SI due to Txl communication. The Y-25 wellbore is a 5 '/z" monobore completion. The production liner is cemented and perforated down to 11,579' and slotted liner below that to a TD at 13,418'. Initial production was from the slotted liner section only and started at 6000 bopd. In two years it declined to a steady 1000 bopd at 80% we and 1000 gor. In February 1996 the cemented heel section of the wellbore was perforated (--180') and the rate jumped to 1800 bopd. The increase quickly declined as the we increased to >90%. Gross fluid rate has been consistent but oil rate has been in gradual decline since then. Latest test was 150 bopd at 98% we and 5000 gor. Y-25 was shut in February 2008 for Txl communication. A tubing caliper run 2/5/08 indicated significant line corrosion in the tubing below 8000' and a hole in the tubing at 10,078'. A short tbg patch over the hole was considered but at least 5 other joints have > 50% penetration. An extended tubing patch was considered but the corrosion extends down into the uppermost perfs so there is no place to land the lower packer. Economics for the current low rate, high water cut well will not support a stand alone RWO. A CMIT-Txl to 2500 psi passed on 6-18-08 confirming production casing integrity. Proposed Lateral This CTD sidetrack will isolate the slotted liner section in the parent well and be completed with a cemented/perforated production liner. The liner will include a CTD Tiny Tool (TT) kick-off point that will allow future access to a target that has been identified further to the west. A scab liner will be run from the top of the production liner to 6050' Qust below GLM#5 in the 5 '/z" tbg). This will cover the corroded tubing, enable hydraulic efficiency and restore wellbore integrity. Recoverable reserves are estimated at 824 MBO. Any remaining reserves in the parent well are expected to be recovered in the new lateral. • Pre-Rig Work Summary: (Scheduled to begin on September 11, 2008) 1. Passed CMIT 2. The tubing was then connected to the American AL-425 gas meter with 112" hose. The wells Were then monitored every 112 hr. for a I 112 hour period. Well Y-19 showed an increase from 45 scflhr, to 330 scf/hr, over the I 112 hr. period and about 10 psi. Well Y-23 showed 0 scf/hr, and 0 psig. Well Y-25 did not exceed 120 scf/hr and showed a slight amount of press, to the touch. Therefore I recommend No-Flow status be granted to wells Y-19,23,25 with well Y-19 to be re-tested and witnessed in 90 days. Summ~ry;. June 15, 1989 BP Exploration is requesting administrative approval, as outlined in Conservation Order No. 213, Rule 2, to waive productivity profile requirements for new Prudhoe Bay Unit well Y-25. The waiver is requested because the well is an inverted high angle completion with a deviation of 92 degrees. The completion interval is as follows' 11614'- 13310' MDBKB (1696') 8956' - 8931' TVDss (25') An increased risk is associated with obtaining production logs in this well as all production logs would have to be coiled tubing conveyed. If future production characteristics warrant evaluation for remedial work, production logs would be obtained at that time. If you require further information, please contact B. J.
