Conductor 27 was previously used for the C43-23 well, for which the permit to abandon the well was submitted December 18, 1990. Cll-23 is currently scheduled to spud on February 15, 199~ following well slot recovery operations. Drilling operations are expected to continue for approximately two and one-half months. In the unlikely event that H2S is encountered, we intend to comply with 20 AAC 25.065 and follow the "Recommended Practices for Conducting Oil and Gas Production Operations Involving Hydrogen Sulfide." Please note that Cll-23 is the fourth producer in the governmental quarter section. SWEPI requests a variance by way of Administrative Approval (Rule 6), from Rule 1 of Conservation Order #44. Maximum BHP is expected to be .571 x 11,236 = 6,416 psi. The shallowest depth at which abnormal waterflood pressures could be encountered is below the protective shoe. Maximum surface pressure is expected to be 2371 psi, assuming a full column of .360 psi/ft oil. The well will be drilled in compliance with the Alaska Oil & Gas Conservation Commission's regulations issued April 2, 1986. The proposed well path will pass in the vicinity of several active producers and injectors. In order to prevent possible intersections with these wells, collision cones of uncertainty will be calculated for each well based on the survey instruments used to survey each. The proposed wellpath will not intersect any of these collision cones. Should the actual wellpath intersect any of these collision cones, the affected well(s) will be shut in and bled down. Single shot gyro surveys will be taken while drilling the surface hole and MWD surveys will be used while drilling intermediate hole. As noted in the drawing of the diverter, both 10" mechanical valves will be kept in an open position until the preventer is closed.
