Remarks: This interval contains abundant peat and plant fragments. It is barren of microfossil. ~: Late Cretaceous. Paleoenvironment: Possibly inner to middle neritic. Remarks: The faunal assemblage consists of Haplophragmoides rota, H. spp., Bathysiphon bros~ei Verneuil inoi des bear-~awenses, V. fiScheri ~ Bathysip.hon. bros~i, Eoeponidella. -~trombbde~, E. l inki, Trochammina albertensis, Hapl ophra~)moi des rota, Gavel inel la awunensis, and Glo0ul in~ toj~a i]oruk ens i s. It is of interest that the abundance of specimens and species diversity is greatly reduced in the interval 5,360'-5,990'. Coal fragments are observed in sample 5,360'-5,450' and pryrite in samples 5,720' to 5,990'. Remarks: The faunal assemblage consists of Gaudr~vina tailleuri, Saccammina spp., Globulina topagorukensis, E~erel la ~i~ TAmmobacul i res cop~ol ~thi i~ormis, 'D~scorbis turbo, Haplophra~moide~ spp. A~e: Early Cretaceous. Paleoenvironment: Marine, probably shelf. Remarks: G1 omos pi ra G1 obul in~- Trochammina study. The faunal assemblage consists of 3131, Haplogphragmoides topa~orukensis H. in fl ati grandis, Vaoinulina texi~ i~, topa~Iorukens is, Reopha spp., and sablei.
