S PR IN GS STATE #1 API# 50-029-21056 IN TRODU CT ION Composite 180' samples from 80-10,944' were analyzed. By using composite samples of 180', the faunal content of each sample is so diluted that very few specimens represent the individual species. The top of the ages could be in error by 360' and ages present in t~in intervals are probably missed completely. RESULTS De pt h 80-4410' Age: Indeterminate. Pal eoenvironment: Indeterminate Remarks: This interval is barren of microfossils. 4410-5430' Age: Late Cretaceous. Pal eoen vi ronmen t: Probably shelf, inner to middle n eri ti c. Remarks: The . faunal assemblage consists of Hap.1 ophra~lmoi des excavata H. albertensis Verneuil inoides fischeri, an~ 'Bathys-(phon varians. 5,430-6,410' Age.: Indeterminate. Pal eoenvironmen t: Indeterminate. 6,41 O' -7,030' 7,030'-7,240' Remarks: The rare occurrences of Haplophragmoides rota and H. excavata are assumed to be caved. Age_: Possibly Campanian/Turonian. Paleoenvironment: Probably s~elf, ba thya 1.
