Ryan,
Just to follow up in writing. The BLM acknowledges the identified risk and will transfer the remaining liability to the SCU 42-05X well. In the meantime the cellar for the SCU 42B-05 shall be
backfilled with appropriate weed free gravel.
Will

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Well P&A SCU 42B-05 / Request to Leave Cellar In Place
This email has been received from outside of DOI - Use caution before clicking on links, opening attachments, or responding.
Good Morning Will,
Hilcorp recently plug and abandoned well SCU 42B-05 and submitted subsequent report of P&A operations on 3/11/2025. The well cellar to this well is butted up against active
storage well SCU 42-05X along with it’s accompanying flowline (pictured below).
There is significant operational risk of excavating that closely to an active well and flowline if we were to attempt to remove the cellar and back fill the location of SCU 42B-05 at
this time.
Hilcorp is requesting that P&A Subsequent Report may be accepted for SCU 42B-05 with the cellar remaining in place. The cellar would be removed and site backfilled at a later
date when SCU 42-05X is longer in service and P&A’d.
Thank you and let me know if you need any additional pictures.
