The well was shut-in in early 2023 in preparation for a CTD sidetrack. The CTD sidetrack target has now been replaced by a rotary sidetrack target in support of well MPB-15A. The rotary sidetrack plan consists of pulling the existing tubing, cutting the 7” casing, and kicking out of the 9-5/8” casing. In preparation for the rotary sidetrack the original reservoir needs to be abandoned. Objective Abandon reservoir by the down squeeze method using a cement retainer set 100’ above the perforated interval. Pump a volume of cement through the retainer to sufficiently fill the wellbore from the base of the perforated interval to the retainer. Place an additional 300’ in the tubing and annulus above the production packer to ensure isolation. Notes on Well Condition x Rotary sidetrack is planned with a window at 6,100’ MD out of the 9-5/8” casing. x Last tag 5/8/23 at 10,464’ SLM with 10’ x 2.70” dummy whipstock drift x LDL on 5/12/23 found leak near GLM #2 at 9,394’ MD. Liquid leak rate: 2BPM at 860 psi. x CMIT-IA to 2,100 psi passed on 5/10/2023 x Locked out Camco TRDP SCSSV (2.812” ID) – locked out 1/20/1995 Procedure: Slickline 1. Proposed plan for MPU B-21A Producer: Prior to drilling activities, screening will be conducted to MIT and drift for whipstock. See MPU B-21A PTD request for complete drilling details - A coil tubing drilling sidetrack will be drilled with the Nabors CDR2 rig. The rig will move in, test BOPE and kill the well. The rig will set a 3-1/2"x7" flow through whipstock and mill a single string 2.74" window + 10' of formation. The well will kick off drilling and land in the Kuparuk. The lateral will continue in the Kuparuk to TD. The proposed sidetrack will be completed with a 2-3/8” L- 80 solid liner and cemented. This completion WILL abandon the parent Kuparuk perfs. The well will be perforated post rig (see future perf sundry). This Sundry covers plugging the existing perforations via the liner cement job or liner top packer, if the liner lap pressure test fails (alternate plug placement per 20 AAC 25.112(i)). Pre-Rig Work - (Estimated to start in March 2023): 1. Slickline: Dummy WS drift a. Drift past whipstock setting location 2. Fullbore: MIT-IA to 1,900 psi and MIT-T to 3,000 psi 3. Valve Shop: Pre-CTD Tree Work as necessary Rig Work: Reference MPU B-21A PTD submitted in concert with this request for full details. General work scope of Rig work: 1. MIRU and Test BOPE - MASP with gas (0.10 psi/ft) to surface is 1,600 psi 2. Set HEW (whipstock) 3. Mill Window 4. Drill Build and Lateral 5. Run and Cement Liner* 6. Freeze Protect and RDMO 7. Set LTP* (if needed) and perforate post rig * Approved alternate plug placement per 20 AAC 25.112(i) Trevor Hyatt CC: Well File Drilling Engineer Joseph Lastufka 907-223-3087 Sundry 323-144 PTD for B-21A ppp completion WILL abandon the parent Kuparuk perfs. Tom Painter Division Manager Conoco inc. 3201 C Street Suite 200 Anchorage, AK 99503 December 23, 1986 Mr. Chatterton, Chairman Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission 3001 Porcupine Drive Anchorage, Alaska 99503 Dear Mr. Chatterton: Temporary Shut-in of Production and Injection Wells Within the Milne Point Unit As you are aware, Conoco et al. has filed an application with the Department of Natural Resources to temporarily discontinue production operations at Mi!ne Point. The attached sundry notices are intended to serve as notice of the pending temporary shut-in of ail wells located within the Milne Point Unit. · ,,ere are 19 active and 5 inactive production wells at Miine Point ACTIVE: B-3, ~ /'^ B-6 B-9 B-10 B-Il B-13 B-15 B-16 C-l, C-2, C-3, C-4, C-5A, C-7, C-9, C-13, C-14, C-16 ~IC: B-20, B-21, B-22 C-i7, C-18 Ail active production wells will be freeze protected by displacing the top 3000' of the tubing with a '1:3 diesel:oil mixture. The annular ~!uid levels will be monitored for leaking gas lift valves. If necessary the production casing annulus will be displaced with a diesel:oil mixture to at least 3000'. Once the shut-down operation is completed, pressure surveys will be run in all production wells. After the surveys are run BPVs will be installed and all SCSSVs and wellhead valves will be closed. The inactive production wells have been adequately freeze protected with diesel across the permafrost. There are currently ten active and six inactive water injection wells in the Xilne Point Unit. ~'~_~ ~' - L~' ACTIVE: B-8, B-12, B-14,. B-17, B-18 C-8, C-11, C-12, C-15 CFP-2 STATIC: B-5A, B-7, B-19 C-6, C-10, C-19 Active water injection wells will be freeze protected by displacing the tubing to at least 2000' with a 50:50 water:methanol mix. The SCSSV and wellhead valves will remain open for two to three weeks after the well is shut-in to monitor wellhead pressure. When adequate wellhead data has been obtained the BPVs will be set and the SCSSVs and all wellhead valves will be closed. The static injection wells are currently freeze protected and no additional work will be required. Injection water is supplied by three water source wells. Though only one well is active at any given time, all wells are capable of produc- ing. A-2A; B-i; CFP-1 Water source wells will be freeze protected by displacing the tubing to at least 2000' with a 2:1 propylene glycol:water mixture. After the wells have been displaced with the glycol:water the BPVs will be set and all wellhead valves will be closed. The E-2 gas storage well has been shut-in since July 1986 due to a tubing leak. The weltbore is filled with natural gas so that freezing is not a concern, but to prevent potential corrosion an inhibitor will be displaced into the well. A 50:50 methanol:water mix ~ill be used to carry the inhibitor. if you aave any questions on .... shutdo~m procedu e plea=e co=tact Don Girdler an 564-7637. Yours very truly, Painter ..... Vo DIRECTIONAL PROGRAM The B-21 well will be drilled to a proposed KOP of 750', then build angle in a south 4° west direction at a rate of 2.5°/100'. This direction will be maintained until ±2200' when the well course will be changed to maintain a south 16° west direction to approach the target at 6935' TVD. Original estimates placed the proposed B-21 well path within 6' of the existing B-17 wellbore at ~2720' TVD and within 16' of the existing B-19 wellbore at ±1160' TVD. The revised proposed B-21 well path described above approaches the existing B-19 wellbore within 20' at 1200' TVD; however, increases the minimum distance to the existing B-17 to 450' at 2550' TVD. Wells which paths will be crossed are B-3, B-4A, B-6, B-10, B-17, B-19, B-20 (proposed), and B-22. Minimum distances from the proposed B-21 well path to these wells are as follows: B-3 (340' at 2500' TVD), B-4A (360' at 2500' TVD), B-6 (1000' at 2350' TVD), B-10 ( 1400' at 2200' TVD), B-17 (450' at 2550' TVD), B-19 (20' at 1200' TVD), B-20 (180' at 1100' TVD), and B-22 (600' at 2800' TVD). Other wells which paths are not crossed, but will be within 200' of the proposed B-2I well path are as follows: B-1 (165' at 2560' TVD), B-8 (180' at 1450' TVD), B-11 (42' at 1950' TVD), B-12 (66' at 1500' TVD), B-14 (120' at 1710' TVD), B-16 (195' at 2020' TVD), and B-18 (195' at 1250' TVD). Well B-2 was drilled as a straight hole, with a maximum angle at 4700' TD of 2.6°. A gyro survey was not run on B-2; however, assuming worst case that the well drifted towards the B-21 proposed path, the two wells would have a closest distance of 61' at 2390' TVD. Extreme caution will be taken and an MWD tool will be run while drilling for continuous surveying purposes. Final hole angle is estimated at 51.5°. The proposed depth is an estimate only.__If actual depth exceeds the permit depth by over 300', a Sundry Notice will be submitted. K. J. Stolz Production Engineer · . WELL NO' iLNE PT..
