Soldotna Creek 34-04 was drilled as a grassroots oil well in 1960 to target various benches between the H-1 thru H-10 oil reserves in the upper, middle and lower parts of the Hemlock formation. In 1995, a rig workover was conducted to plugback the Hemlock and run a new completion in the Tyonek G-1 and G-2 intervals. The well is currently producing on gaslift. The purpose of this work/sundry is to pump acid to dissolve calcium carbonate scale in the Tyonek G. Box 196247 Anchorage, Alaska 99519-6247 Telephone (907) 276-7600 May 19, 1995 UNOr. Alaska Dear Mr. Johnston: Mr. David Johnston AOGCC 3001 Porcupine Drive Anchorage, Ak. 99501-3192 Re: Flow Test Period Extension SCU Well No. 34-4 Swanson River Field On March 6, 1995 a Sundry Notice was approved to perforate the Tyonek G Zone in the above well through tubing above the uppermost packer installed in the well and if productive, test the well for a period of 60 days. The well has been perforated and is currently producing. Unocal is requesting a nominal 90 day extension to the current test pedod by approval of the attached Form 10-403. Specifically, we are requesting the end of the test period be extended from May 31 to August 31, 1995. We are making this request due to our decision to reddll the well, rather than work it over, in order to preserve the ability to produce the Hemlock in this wellbore. Redrill operations will be conducted as soon as a drilling dg is available, estimated to be within 2-3 months. Discussion: On September 11, 1994 the tubing-production casing annulus in the well was successfully pressure tested to 2200 psig for 30 minutes. Tubing and surface casing pressure were 0 psig. On March 31, 1995, after setting a plug in the tubing to isolate the Hemlock intervals, the Tyonek G2 sand was perforated from 10,256-74' (Corrected DIL depth) above the Baker FH packer set at 10,329'. On April 3, 1995 a well test showed the well flowing 348 BOPD + 0 BWPD + 55 MCFD. Initial flowing tubing pressure was 250 psig with zero casing pressure. Since then the well has been reperforated and an additional 11 feet of perforations added. On May 12, the well tested 507 BOPD + Trace BWPD + 242 MCFD with tubing pressure of 150 psig and casing pressure of 250 psig. In the next few weeks, we plan on perforating the remaining Tyonek G2 sand and also testing the Tyonek G1 sand immediately above the G2 sand. The well is then scheduled to be redrilled sometime in August or September utilizing the drilling rig ARCO is mobilizing in the vicinity of the field. If you have any questions, please contact Dennis Groboske at 263-7816 or David Whitacre at 263-7616. DLG/csw cc: J. Dygas- BLM Yours very truly, G. This Sundry Notice is being submitted to comply with Chapter II, Section 3162.3-4, paragraph (c) of the Bureau of Land Management Regulations. All 32 wells are expected 'to be shut-in for a period of at least 30 days during 1992. Several information sheets are attached with this Sundry Notice request. Attachment 1 lists the proposed TA wells and separates them into the following five categories: Shut-in wells under evaluation for: rate potential, permanent abandonment (P & A), and shallow gas sand potential and 'Hemlock Only abandonment. RECEIVED DEC ;5 1 199t Alaska Oil & Gas Cons. Commissio~ Anchorage Mr. J. A. Dygas Page 2 December 27, 1991 Shut-in wells until field .blowdown, including: 4. Hemlock producers, and 5. wells with future shallow gas potential in which the Hemlock has been abandoned. The fifth category shown above is a new addition to this year's TA listing. This grouping is for the wells in which the Hemlock has been abandoned but the wellbore is being maintained for possible future shallow gas production. Four wells from last ye,ar's TA list were moved into this category. Attachment 2 gives a brief explanation for each well that has been added to or removed from the 1991 Temporarily Abandoned List (Ref: our letter of 12/28/90). Eight wells, SCU 12A-4, SCU 21-8, SCU 23B-3, SCU 43A-4, SCU 13-9, SRU 212-10, SRU 21-22 and SRU 212-27, have been added while two wells, SRU 21-15 and SRU 314-27, have been removed from the previous TA List. Attachment 3 is a list of shut-in wells that are not included in the '92 TA listing. Two of the wells mentioned above, SRU 21-15 and SRU 314-27, are not included because they are scheduled for P & A in the first quarter of 1992. This work is being done as part of the '91-'92 Swanson River Plan of Development. Also included in Attachment 3 is SCU 43-4WD, a standby water disposal well which is only used seasonally.
