ARCO Alaska, Inc., proposes to convert well 1E-18 to a selective single completion. The procedure will be as follows: 1. Well will be killed with brine. Weight to be determined after running pressure bomb. 2. Current completion assembly will be pulled. I 3. A retrievable packer will be run to test for zone isolation between the A and C sand, and to test casing I integrity. A squeeze will be performed, if required. I 4. The well will be completed as a selective single and 5000# wellhead equipment will be installed. 5. After the rig is released, an acid and/or frac job will be done. A 13-5/8", 5000-psi, SRRA BOP stack will be used on well work. BOP equipment will be tested weekly and operationally tested each trip. A non-freezing fluid will be left in all uncemented annuli within the permafrost interval. A 5000 psi WP wireline lubricator will be used and tested on all wireline work. The subsurface safety valve will be installed and tested upon conclusion of the job. Estimated Start: October 20, 1984 ~',i.'"~ J ~ ~ 0 ~,~0~ Alaska Oil & Gas Cons. Commissic Ancr0rage 14. Selected intervals will be logged. A 20", 2000 psi annular diverter will be installed on the 16" conductor while drilling the surface hole. A 13-5/8", 5000 psi, RSRRA BOPE stack will be installed on the 10-3/4" surface pipe. It will be tested upon installation and weekly thereafter. Test pressure will be 3000 psig (1800 psi for annular). Expected maximum surface pressure will be 2614 psig. Pressure calculations are based on current reservoir pressure. Surface pressure calculated with unexpanded gas bubble at surface including temperature effects. The well will be completed with 3-1/2", 9.2#, J-55 buttress tbg. Non-freezing fluids will be left in uncemented annuli through the permafrost interval. Selected intervals will be perforated within the Kuparuk formation and reported on subsequent reports. A downhole safety valve will be installed and tested upon completion of the job. See attached analysis of well crossings. 23. This distance was calculated using the gyro multishot data for 1E-5 and assuming that well 1E-18 will be drilled directionally to 2540' as planned. Well 1E-5 will have an ellipse of uncertainty of 162' across its major axis at the depth of interest. Well 1E-18 will have an ellipse of uncertainty of 110' across its major axis at the depth of interest. The areas of uncertainty for the two wells will, therefore, not intersect. If survey data indicates that the areas of uncertainty will overlap, the Contingency Procedures outlined below will be used. 1E-18/1E-19 The proposed Well 1E-18 will pass within a distance of 60' (at a measured depth of 1000') of well 1E-19. This distance was calculated assuming that both wells will be drilled vertically to 1000' as planned. Both wells 1E-18 and 1E-19 will have cones of uncertainty of 7' in diameter at the depth at which the minimum distance occurs. The areas of uncertainty for the two wells will, therefore, not intersect. Since the cones of uncertainty are so small, no well intersection problems are expected. Contingency Procedures If the survey data indicate that the areas of uncertainty will overlap, the following procedures will be used- 1. A deflection assembly will be run above the potential insection to deflect the well in the appropriate direction. 2. All drilling parameters will be closely monitored until a safe crossing is made. This log was run to assess the condition of the 3.5" tubing with respect to corrosive and mechanical damages. The 3.5" tubing appears to be in good to fair condition with respect to corrosive damage, with a maximum wall penetration of 24% in joint 129 (4,058'). The damage appears mainly in the form of isolated pitting. No significant areas of cross-sectional wall loss are recorded throughout the tubing logged. Although the caliper recordings indicate circumferential deposits throughout the tubing logged, no significant I.D. restrictions are recorded. Cross-sectional drawings of the most significant events recorded are included in this report. The distribution of maximum recorded penetrations is illustrated in the Body Region Analysis Page of this report.
