Message ,..
Hal,
Attached to Ibis cover letter is a Io~ presentation of the,WFL msulte ,for G~22;, ,,
Below is a brief discussion: ,,,: ,. , .....
The WFL Up Flow rates were calculated for the tubing x, 9 5~8*,annular area.,
This flow appears to originate from a leak in the packer at gg94~ and, oonllnuesi' ' ': , '
up unUI It exits the 9 5f8" cuing between 4800' and 4760'. An, additional, $i~all, '
leak out of the 9 5/8" may be Indloated by the drop in Up Flow rate, between ,, ~'
6000' and 5500'.
The WFL Down,Flow rates were calculated for the 9 5/8" x 13 ;3/8' annular area. ,
from surface to the bottom of the 13 3/8' at ~548'. Below this point the area was
assumed to be the full 9 5/8" x 12.2~ OH annulus. In~rease or decreases in this
annular area would have a corresponding effect on the calculated flow rates, The
data Indicates Down Flow starting between 1800' end 2000' and continuing down
beyond the last station at 9500'. The possibility exists that the indicated Down
Flow may be in the tubing x 9 5/8" annulus from 2000' to 4750' at which point it
converges with the Up Flow and exits the 9 5/8' through the same point and
continues down outside the 9 5/8".
The tubing spinner surveye both show all unexplained drop in Injection rate
below -1000' which may best be explained by a ID reduction above this point
(scale?). The Long String survey shows an additional slight drop just below 1500'
whloh could aoeount for the start of the WFL Down Flow Indication mentioned
above. It should be noted that the sptnner ir~ja~2ion rate measured In the Shod
J~N-~7-@8 TUE 18:41
String (-6000 BPD) IB greater than that of the Long String (-5000 BPD) which Is
in opposition to the surface reported injection rates ($8 = 3570 BPD, L8 = 6116
BPD). The spinner data appears to be verified by' the temperature data which
shows cooler temperatures in the Short String which would be expected at a
higher Injection rate.
Hope thts gives you some more food for thought. I am interested in any
additional information or Ideas you may have. Give me a call when you've had a
chance to rook it over.
Regards, Rob...
