Currently, there is communication with the C Sand and the A Sand is assumed to be isolated by fill and rocks filling the 7" casing up into the 3-1/2" tubing. Previous attempts at cleaning out the fill with coiled tubing were unsuccessful and any additional attempt at cleaning out the rocks and fill (to uncover the A Sand perfs) is viewed as high risk. Therefore, the perforations will be abandoned simultaneously by down-squeezing an excessive volume of cement to assure coverage of the C Sands and allow for any possibility of down-squeezing the A Sand perfs as well. Displace balls with gelled diesel at 10 BPM pump rate to perforations. After bailout is complete, open well at surface to surge balls off perforations. Allow balls to fall to bottom at least 30 minutes before pumping post-balk)ut ISIP. * * If treating pressure is in excess of 6500 psi, shut down the job and confer with Operations Engineering. 1 I ) Pump an additional 150 bbls gelled diesel at 10 BPM and obtain an ISIP. During the ISIP monitor the pressure decline taking readings every 15 seconds until onsite Operations Enginering representatives have sufficient data. This data will be used to attempt to calculate the leakoff coefficient. .Messrs. Lyden and Wade July 26, 19'88 Page 5 1 2) Pump pre-pad musol spear. Let soak overnight. Begin flowback after the gelled diesel samples break in a water bath. Initial flowback rate for the first day should be 100 - 200 BPD. Record tank straps (rates), choke settings, and WHP's during flowback period. Inspect samples for frac sand. If frac sand is produced, SI well and begin flowback again after 4 hours. Take BS & W samples after every choke change and every 8 hours. Bring well back on production per older, slower flowback schedule after first day. Inspect samples for frac sand. If frac sand is found, increase WHP by 100 psi and contact Operations Engineering. Turn well into CPF when when B$ & W is less than 2% Once well has completed flowback, obtain a 24 hour well test. Describe proposed program: ARCO Alaska, Inc., proposes to drill a KuParuk River Field development well to approximately 9169' MD (6276' TVD). A 20", 2000 psi annular diverter will be installed on the 16" conductor while drilling the surface hole. The 9-5/8" casing will be set through the West Sak Sands at approximately 4086' MD(3146' TV•). A 13-5/8", 5000 psi, RSRRA BOPE stack will be installed on the 9-5/8" surface pipe. It will be tested upon installation and weekly thereafter. Test pressure will be 3000 psig (1800 psi for annular). Expected maximum surface pressure is 2824 psi. Pressure calculations are based on latest reservoir pressure. Surface pressure is calculated with an unexpanded gas bubble at surface, including temperature effects. Selected intervals will be logged. The well will be completed, using the workover rig, with 3-1/2", 9.2#, J-55, 8rd tbg. Non-freezing fluids will be left in uncemented annuli through the permafrost interval, Selected intervals will be perforated within the Kuparuk formation and reported on subsequent reports. A downhole safety valve will be (see attached sheet) 23.
