The Wolf Lake No. 2 well will be drilled from a surface location approximately 400 feet Northeast of Wolf Lake No. 1. The well will be drilled vertically to 6000 feet and kicked off below this depth to a maximum angle of 20°. The proposed target is anticipated to consist of oil sands within the Hemlock formation (11,750 feet TVD) at approximately 2000 feet to the northwest. The design of the casing program planned for this well is based largely upon subsurface conditions encountered in the ARCO/CIRI Wolf Lake No. 1 well. A 20 inch conductor will be set in a dry augered hole at 70 feet RKB and cemented to surface. A 20 inch annular preventer and diverter, system will then be used to maintain well control while drilling 17-~ inch surface hole to 4500 feet. Because no abnormal pressures or gas sands were encountered in this segment of the Wolf Lake No. 1 well, a deep conductor casing (set at 759 feet in Wolf Lake #1) will not be necessary. Mud weight at the 13-3/8 inch casing point within the upper Beluga formation is predicted to be 9.8 ppg. Upon setting 13-3/8 inch casing at 4500 feet, a 13-5/8 inch 10,000 psi WP BOP stack (RSRRA) will be installed on the wellhead to provide surface well control for the remainder of the drilling program. The 13-3/8 inch casing will be pressure tested to 1500 psi prior to drilling out the cement and float equipment. After drilling out the casing and before more than 50 feet of new formation is exposed, a formation leak-off test will be conducted to establish the fracture gradient. The results of this test will be utilized to calculate a kick tolerance and determine the maximum allowable mud weight that can be used without additional casing. Mud logging services are planned to begin in the 12-¼ inch intermediate hole prior to deviating the wellbore from vertical. Again, proximity of Wolf Lake No. 1 and conditions encountered therein suggest mud logging this interval would be an unnecessary duplication. Similary, electric logs are not planned for the surface hole and the scope of subsequent logging runs may be somewhat reduced from more typical exploration logging programs. The 12-¼ inch hole will build angle at 2° per 100 feet starting at 6000 feet. A maximum angle of 20° will be achieved by 7000 feet TVD, 7020 feet MD and this angle and course (N 58° W) will be maintained until the well reaches total depth. The 9-5/8 inch casing string is planned to be set in the West Foreland formation at approximately 12,500 feet TVD, 12,900 feet MD. Mudweight anticipated at this depth is 10.6 ppg. RE[EIVED NOV 0 1 Alaska Oil & Gas Cons. Commission Anchorage Before drilling below the 9-5/8 inch shoe, the casing will be tested to 1500 psi and a formation leak-off test will be conducted as before. After determining the fracture gradient at the 9-5/8 inch shoe, an 8-½ inch hole will be drilled to 14,000 feet TVD, 14,500 feet MD. At this depth the well is anticipated to penetrate the Jurassic Naknek formation and the mud weight is expected to reach 13.2 ppg. Should the logging program suggest a need to flow test the well from this interval, a 7 inch production liner will be run and cemented across the prospective productive zones. The decision to produce or abandon this well will be made after evaluation of the well test data is complete. At this time the AOGCC will be consulted and the appropriate action will be taken. * Well L~/ce I/ _/I ~ I "V~'-'--..~'~ [ I i I \ ~~, ~ ~ ~ I ~ ~ L ~ARCO-CIRI__ WOLF LAKE ~[ 2 // ~ il x= ~,o4~.~ % ~ ~ I LAT. = 60 59 55.70" /~1 . . ...... m ..... 7~F-~--- ¢-~ ~------ SCALE: I": I MILE CERTIFICATE OF SURVEYOR T7N -- T6N I hereby certify that I om properly registered and licensed to practice land surveying in the Stoteof Alaska and that this plot representso location survey mode by me or under my supervision, and that oll dimensions and other details ore correct.
