Intermediate Bond Log Review – ConocoPhillips Cementing SME Evaluation Stage 1: We appear to have near pristine cement to at least 11,050’ based on the very low amplitude. Based on the response this looks like very high quality cement capable of reliable isolation. Due to the loss of returns it now becomes difficult to ascertain the exact nature of the materials above this, although we can see differences in the materials behind pipe. Lift pressure analysis and fluid displacement predictions are not reliable when lost circulation events occur. Due to the amount and apparent high quality of the cement around the shoe I would consider it risky, if not hazardous, to attempt any type of remediation by way of perforations for an additional 100’ of isolation. Stage 2 I have reviewed the lift pressure analysis for stage II, along with the pre-job predictions. When I look at the pre-job predictions I look closely at the fluid friction pressure hierarchy chart. This chart tells if the fluids exert enough shear stress to displace the fluid(s) in front of it. In our case this is a very positive indicator that the fluid regime was in proper alignment for a good displacement. This if further enforced by the mud removal predictions and fluid concentration charts which predict a high percentage of cement in the annulus above the stage tool. Although not the best Cement Evaluation Log we have seen there are indications of a change in material in the annulus upward to 8,000’. This would be very close to the predicted top of spacer at 8400’. Additionally we did not lose returns and the job was executed properly. Non- Conventional Well Please note the following special condition of this permit: Production or production testing of coal bed methane is not allowed for this well until after the Operator has designed and implemented a water-well testing program to provide baseline data on water quality and quantity. The Operator must contact the AOGCC to obtain advance approval of such a water-well testing program. Well Logging Requirements Regulation 20 AAC 25.071(a) authorizes the AOGCC to specify types of well logs to be run. In addition to the well logging program proposed by the Operator in the attached application, the following well logs are also required for this well: Per Statute AS 31.05.030(d)(2)(B) and Regulation 20 AAC 25.071, composite curves for all well logs run must be submitted to the AOGCC within 90 days after completion, suspension, or abandonment of this well, or within 90 days of acquisition of the data, whichever occurs first.
