Drilling & Wells Coiled Tubing Drilling Team Attention: Subject: Winton Aubert Petroleum Engineer KRU 2B-03 CTD Sidetrack Prep / KRU well 2B-03 is scheduled for a sidetrack to be/drilled with coiled tubing. The following summarizes the procedure required to prep 2B-03 'for drilling and is submitted as an attachment to Form 10-403. The new sidetrack 2B-03A will be a producing well. A schematic diagram of this proposed completion is attached. The cement P&A of 2B-03 will be performed by service coil as preparation for the CTD sidetrack. P&A Steps: 1. Service CT - FCO to a minimum of 8100' md. 2. Slickline - Drift tubing and tag bottom. Dummy all GLMs. Pressure test inner annulus. / 3. Slickline - Run caliper log in 7" liner from tubing tail~- ,t°Bq'00~"md' 4. Service CT - P&A Kuparuk perforations by squeezing25 ~lMs of 17 ppg Class G cement with aggregate. Cleanout and target top of cement at~glJ00' md, in the 3-1/2" tubing tail (-67' above planned sidetrack KOP of 8067'). 5. Slickline - Tag TOC. PT cement P&A to 1000 psi. CTD Drill & Complete 2B-03A program: Planned for 2/15/2003 (see drilling permit) 1. Mill 2.74" pilot hole and cement ramp for kickoff at 8067'. 2. Mill 2.74" window through 7" liner at 8067' and mill 10' of openhole. 3. Drill 2.7" x 3" bicenter hole horizontal sidetrack 2B-03A from window to -10200' TD targeting Kuparuk A sand interval. 4. Complete with 2 3/8" solid/cemented liner from TD to -10 above tubing tail. 5. Perforate targeted Kuparuk A sand intervals. 6. Post CTD rig - Bring on production. The service coil operations are expected to commence 1/25/03. Drilling coil is expected to begin the sidetrack drilling on 2/15/03. Obtain a sample of the proppant and of the gelled diesel with breaker. Check the proppant for fines. Record proppant weight prior to pumping. After the fracture stimulation, verify and record weight of remaining proppant. Obtain samples from pad and slurry stages while pumping. . Pump the 200 Bbl pre-pad at 25 BPM. Shut down and determine the ISIP. The A Sand was perforated with 176 shots, 4 spf, at 90 degree phasing. . Pump fracture treatment per the attached schedule. If treating pressure exceeds 6000 psi, begin flush stage. The maximum recommended treating pressure is 6500 psi based on analysis of tubing strength and PBR type. 8. Describe proposed program: ARCO Alaska, Inc., proposes to drill a KuParuk River Field development well to approximately 8412' MD (6369' TVD). Selected intervals will be logged. A 20", 2000 psi annular diverter will be installed on the 16" conductor while_drilling the surface hole. The 13-5/8", 5000 psi, RSRRA BOPE stack will be installed on the 9-5/8" surface pipe. It will be tested upon installation and weekly thereafter. Test Pressure will be 3000 psig (1800 psi for annular). Expected maximum surface pressure is 2683 psi. Pressure calculations are based on virgin reservoir pressure. Surface pressure is calculated with an unexpanded gas bubble at surface, including temperature effects. Casing will be tested to 2000 psi prior to releasing the drilling rig. Non-~_eezing fluids will be left in uncemented annuli through the permafrost interval. 2B-3 will be 60' away from 2B~"'at the surface. There are no closer wellbores anywhere downhole. Reserve pit fluids will be disposed of by pumping them down the 7" x 9-5/8" annulus of this well. The 7" x 9-5/8" annulus will be left with a non-freezing fluid during any (see attached sheet) :23. The well will be completed by the workover rig using 3-1/2", 9.2#/ft, J-SS, 8rd tubing. Selected intervals will be perforated within the Kuparuk formation and reported on subsequent reports. A subsurface safety valve will be installed and tested upon conclusion of the job. After the workover rig has moved off location, this well will be fracture stimulated. ........ 1.QQQ- KOP 21 TVD=750 THD=T50 DEP=O B'UI:LD 3' 'DEO ~ 100 FT BASEl PERMAFROST TVD=1497 THD=1517 DEP=1 52 33 3;9.
