Re: MPU CFP-02A Sundry Approval Request
Sundry approval is requested to plug off the CFP-02 production as part of the preparation, drilling
and completing the proposed CFP-02A coiled tubing sidetrack.
Proposed plan for MPU CFP-02A Injector:
See MPCFP-02 Sundry request for complete pre-rig details - Prior to drilling activities, screening will be
conducted to drift & caliper for whipstock.
A coil tubing drilling sidetrack will be drilled with the Nabors CDR2 rig. The rig will move in, test BOPE and kill
the well. The rig will set a 3-1/2"x7" flow through whipstock and mill a single string 2.80" window + 10' of
formation. The well will kick off drilling and land in the Kuparuk B. The lateral will continue in the Kuparuk to TD.
The proposed sidetrack will be completed with a 2-3/8” L-80 solid liner and cemented. This completion WILL
abandon the parent Kuparuk perfs. The well will be perforated post rig unless service coil is unavailable.
This Sundry covers plugging the existing perforations via the whipstock, liner cement job or liner top packer, if
the liner lap pressure test fails (alternate plug placement per 20 AAC 25.112(i)).
The following describes the work planned and is submitted as an attachment to Form 10-403. A schematic
diagram of the current well and proposed sidetrack is attached for reference.
Pre-Rig Work: (Estimated to start May 1st, 2024)
1. Slickline : Dummy WS drift and Caliper
2. Valve Shop : Pre-CTD Tree Work
3. Operations : Remove wellhouse and level pad.
Rig Work: (Estimated to start in May 20th, 2024)
x Reference MPU CFP-02A permit submitted in concert with this request for full details.
1. MIRU and test BOPE 250 psi low and 3,500 psi high (MASP 1884 psi). Give AOGCC 24hr notice
prior to BOPE test.
2. Set NS 3-1/2" x 7" HEW at 7837' MD, Oriented at 0 deg RHOS
3. Mill 2.80” Window in 7" casing.
4. Drill build section: 3.25" OH, ~309' (40 deg DLS planned).
5. Drill production lateral: 3.25" OH, ~2697' (12 deg DLS planned). Swap to KWF for liner.
6. Run 2-3/8”4.7# H511 L-80 solid liner. RIH with ORCA cement stinger and swap well to KCL.
7. Pump primary cement job: 20 bbls, 15.3 ppg Class G, TOC at TOL*.
8. Only if not able to do with service coil extended perf post rig – Perforate Liner
9. Freeze protect well to a min 2,200' TVDss.
* Approved alternate plug placement per 20 AAC 25.112(i)
Post-Rig Work:
1. Valve Shop : Valve & tree work.
2. Slickline : Set LTP* (if necessary).
3. Service Coil : Post rig perforate (~800’).

Plug for Re-drill Well
Workflow
This process is used to identify wells that are suspended for a very short time prior to being
re-drilled. Those wells that are not re-drilled immediately are identified every 6 months and
assigned a current status of "Suspended."
Step Task Responsible
1 The initial reviewer will check to ensure that the "Plug for Redrill" box in
the upper left corner of Form 10-403 is checked. If the "Abandon" or
"Suspend" boxes are also checked, cross out that erroneous entry and
initial it on the Form 10-403.
Geologist
2 If the “Abandon” box is checked in Box 15 (Well Status after proposed
work) the initial reviewer will cross out that checkbox and instead, check
the "Suspended" box and initial those changes.
Geologist
The drilling engineer will serve as quality control for steps 1 and 2.
Petroleum
Engineer
(QC)
3 When the RA2 receives a Form 10-403 with a check in the "Plug for
Redrill" box, they will enter the Typ_Work code "IPBRD" into the
History tab for the well in RBDMS. This code automatically generates
a comment in the well history that states "Intent: Plug for Redrill."
Research
Analyst 2
4 When the RA2 receives Form 10-407, they will check the History tab
in RBDMS for the IPBRD code. If IPBRD is present and there is no
evidence that a subsequent re-drill has been completed, the RA2 will
assign a status of SUSPENDED to the well bore in RBDMS. The RA2
will update the status on the 10-407 form to SUSPENDED, and date
and initial this change.
If the RA2 does not see the "Intent: Plug for Redrill" comment or code,
they will enter the status listed on the Form 10-407 into RBDMS.
Research
Analyst 2
5 When the Form 10-407 for the redrill is received, the RA2 will change the
original well's status from SUSPENDED to ABANDONED.
Research
Analyst 2
6 The first week of every January and July, the RA2 and a Geologist or
Reservoir Engineer will check the "Well by Type Work Outstanding"
user query in RBDMS to ensure that all Plug for Redrill sundried wells
have been updated to reflect current status.
At this same time, they will also review the list of suspended wells for
accuracy and assign expiration dates as needed.

Mr. Chatterton, Chairman

Dear Mr. Chatterton:
Temporary Shut-in of Production and Injection Wells
Within the Milne Point Unit
As you are aware, Conoco et al. has filed an application with the
Department of Natural Resources to temporarily discontinue production
operations at Milne Point. The attached sundry notices are intended
to serve as notice of the pending temporary shut-in of all wells
located within the Milne Point Unit.
There are 19 active and 5 inactive production wells at Milne Point.
ACTIVE:
B-3, B-4A, B-6, B-9, B-10, B-ii, B-13, B-15, B-16,
C-i, C-2, C-3, C-4, C-5A, C-7, C-9, C-13, C-14, C-16
STATIC:
B-20, B-21, B-22 C-17, C-18
All active production wells will be freeze protected by displacing the
top 3000' of the tubing with a 1:3 diesel:oil mixture. The annular
fluid levels will be monitored for leaking gas lift valves. If
necessary the production casing annulus will be displaced with a
diesel:oil mixture to at least 3000'. Once the shut-down operation is
completed, pressure surveys will be run in all production wells.
After the surveys are run BPVs will be installed and all SCSSVs and
wellhead valves will be closed.
The inactive production wells have been adequately freeze protected
with diesel across the permafrost.
There are currently ten active and six inactive water____,, ,~-~injecti°n wells
in the Milne Point Unit.
Alaska Oil & Gas Cons, Commission
Anchorage
ACTIVE:
B-8, B-12, B-14, B-17, B-18 C-8, C-il, C-12, C-15 CFP-2
STATIC:
B-5A, B-7, B-19 C-6, C-10, C-19
Active water injection wells will be freeze protected by displacing
the tubing to at least 2000' with a 50:50 water:methanol mix. The
SCSSV and wellhead valves will remain open for two to three weeks
after the well is shut-in to monitor wellhead pressure. When adequate
wellhead data has been obtained the BPVs will be set and the SCSSVs
and all wellhead valves will be closed.
The static injection wells are currently freeze protected and no
additional work will be required.
Injection water is supplied by three water source wells. Though only
one well is active at any given time, all wells are capable of produc-
ing.
A-2A; B-i; CFP-1
Water source wells will be freeze protected by displacing the tubing
to at least 2000' with a 2:1 propylene glycol:water mixture. After
the wells have been displaced with the glycol:water the BPVs will be
set and all wellhead valves will be closed.
The E-2 gas storage well has been shut-in since July 1986 due to a
tubing leak. The wellbore is filled with natural gas so that freezing
is not a concern, but to prevent potential corrosion an inhibitor will
be displaced into the well. A 50:50 methanol:water mix will be used
to carry the inhibitor.
If you have any questions on the shutdown procedure please contact
Don Girdler at 564-7637.

proposed work, for Abandonment see 20 AAC 25.105-170).
Request approval, to inject water in MPU CFP-2 (already completed) as part of a pressure
communication test. Water would be injected at the maximum rate determined by the
maximum rate from the water source well, CFP-1 (some of the produced water ~ill be
purified by a reverse osmosis unit to potable water for the Milne Point Operations
Complex; the R.O. reject water and excess produced water will be injected in CFP-2).
The maximum expected injection rate is 1500 BWPD.
Pressure will be monitored in five offsetting wells (already completed), MPU B-3, B-4A,
B-6, B-7, and B-9. The response in the offset wells will prove or disprove the presence
of flow barriers around CFP-2, which will be an injection well when full-scale
production and waterflooding begins by early 1986. (Conoco has included CFP-2 in its
application to EPA for a UIC permit; we expect approval to inject in this well by May
16, 1985.) Since CFP-2 will be an injector anyway, this pressure communic~_a~':on test
will not adversely affect the reservoir nor lower recovery of unitized substances.
Should flow barriers be found, the results will show how Conoco can more efficiently
recover the oil.
Surface facilities will be ready to inject water in CFP-2 by May 16, 1985. Conoco
requests approval to inject at maximum rate for at least 80 days,-which is the maximum
response time predicted for any of the offset wells.
14. I h~eby certify that the foregoing is true and correct to the best of my knowledge.

Conoco proposes to perforate and complete the CFP No. 2 we]_l in the Middle Kuparuk
formation. It is to be completed using a tubing conveyed perforating system run on 3~"
9.2 ppf BTRS tubing and a production packer. A SSSV will be run in the tubing string.
Once the packer has been set, the tubing ].anded, and the wellhead secured, the drilling
rig will be released and moved. The well will then be perforated and flow tested. The
proposed test is to include on].y rate measurements.
Following the test the top 2000' of tubing will be displaced with diesel, the SSSV will
be closed, a BPV set, and the well suspended.

i conoco ~nc. proposes drilling the subject well as a delineation well
River Field. Mud system will be a non-dispersed low solids with a minimum mud weight
in surface hole of 9.0 ppg and a maximum of 9.8 ppg. Mud weight at TD will be 10.2 ppg.
A 20" 2000 psi diverter will be installed on the 13 3/8" conductor for drilling the
surface hole. A 13 3/8", 5000 psi RSRRA BOPE stack will be used on the surface casing.
Pressure tests will be done as per state_regulations. Maximum surfm£e pressure is
based on initial reservoir pressure and ~_~=~~..~f~~~l~s~n~$will be tested
to 1500 psi. CFP-2 is a significant distance from any existing wellbores on the surface
and wi].], not be any closer downhole. Arctic Pak will be placed in the 9 5/8" x 7"
annul, us after disposing of test oil and excess drilling fluids. The well wil be
perforated and completed with the drilling rig.

The ]3-3/8" conductor wi].], be set at 80' below the surface
115' K. B., then cemented to the surface with permafrost
cement.
B~
The 9-5/8" surface casing will be cemented with 1100± sacks
Permafrost "E" cement followed by 900 sacks of Class "G"
cement. A top job will be done if cement is not circulated to
the surface.
C.
The 7" production casing will. be cemented in two stages.
The primary cementing job will consist of 700 sacks of Class
"G" cement pumped around the casing shoe (estimated 2000±' of
annular cement, assuming an AHS=ll"). The secondary cement
job will consist of 200-+ sacks of permafrost type "C" cement
followed by 60± barrels of Arctic Pack, pumped down the 7" x
9-5/8" annulus.
II. ANTICIPATED GEOLOGY
0' - 4500' Surface conglomerates, clays, silt and sand
sequences. Estimated based of permafrost at 1700±.

Predominate]y shale until the Kuparuk sands -
expected at 6700± subsea TVD.
III. FORMATION EVALUATION
A. Sidewall cores to be taken as determined by onsight geologist.
B~
Wireline logs for the 8~" hole from T.D. to the 9-5/8" shoe
will include: Dual ~p~ction Laterolog; Sypherically Focused
Log; Formation Compensated Density with CNL and GR-caliper.
We do not plan to log the 12¼" hole.
IV. DRILLING FLUID

V. DIRECTIONAL PROGRAM
The well has a proposed KOP of 3200' and will build angle in a
North 42° east direction. The closest that the CFP No. 2 will come
to another well bore is from the surface to kick-off depth where
the proposed CFP No. 2 will be 1750'± north of the proposed E-1
well. An MWD tool is to be run while drilling for surveying
purposes. Average hole angle will be 38°.
