Pat E---57 AL I Zio-bbl To whom it may concern, On July 3rd 2010 at 0030hrs during a Whipstock setting trip, Nordic 1 experienced a false alarm on the H2s alarm system. The sensor in the cellar had detected the gas and set off the evacuation alarm. The rig team responded quickly by shutting down the pump and closing the HCR on the choke side of the BOP stack. The rig was then evacuated and notifications were made. The fire department arrived and cleared the rig. Upon re-entry it was discovered that the H2s sensor in the cellar was wet due to Hands cleaning in the cellar. The sensor was cleaned and dried then re-tested. The test was successful. Normal Operations continued at 0230hrs. At 0730hrs a call was placed to discuss this incident with the AOGCC State Inspectors John Crisp and Jeff Jones.
