Petroleum Inspector FI LE NO.: TELEPHONE NO.: SUBJECT: D.BDF.6 Wellbore Plugs & Markers ARCO KRU WSP Wells 1, 9& 15 Kuparuk River Field ', Wednesday, ~anuary 21, 1987: I talked with Ray Springer, ARCO rePresentative, concerning the surface plugs on wells 9 & 15. I noticed while checking the P&A marker plates that no cement was showing in the 2 7/8" x 7" annulus on these wells. He said he was gping to finish cutting off the tree on well ~1, and make sure that the cement was in place on that well before ordering cement for the other two wells. Friday,_JanparY 23, 1987: Mr.-Springer contacted me on Thursday and informed me that the cement was in place on well ~1, and he would re-cement the annuli on wells 9 & 15. I arrived on the location at 1:30 p.m. this date, and BJ Cementing had jus~ finished cementing the annuli on wells 9 & 15. I inspected the annult on both wells, and the cement was in place and not falling. Ray gave me pictures of the marker plates on all the wells except 9, 15 and well ~1. He will get the pictures of these wells to me as soon as the work is complete. In summ_ary I observed the top cement plugs in wells 1, 9 & 15. Attachment On 1/26/87 Ray sent me the pictures of the P&A marker plates on wells 9 & 15, and One of the marker post on well ~1. These pictures are attached to this. report. correct by M1 Sipple. This project will be conducted in accordance with the terms of Conservation Order No.191, "West Sak Sands Section 35 Project". A diverter system will be used to drill an 8-1/2" hole to total depth. 7" casing will be set at total depth and cemented to surface. This casing will exceed Kuparuk River Field Rule requirements with respect to surface casing post-yield compressional and tensile strain limits, and will exceed maximum expected freezeback pressures. An RSRA BOP stack will be used after setting 7" casing, and will be tested to 3000 psi (annular 1800 psi). A fracture treatment will be made on the West Sak Sands. A 3.52" OD screen will be gravel packed in the 7" casing. The well will be completed with 2-7/8" tubing. WSP-10 is 120' away from WSP-8~ at the surface. There are no closer wellbores anywhere downhole. -23. Dear Mr Kewtn ~ Enclosed is the approved application for permit to drill the above referenced well. If coring is conducted, a one cubic inch chip from each foot of recovared core is required. Samples of well cuttings and a mud log are not required. A continuous directional survey is required as per 20 AAC 25.050(b)(5). If available, a tape containing the digitized log information shall be submitted on all logs for copying except experimental logs, velocity surveys and al!procter surveys. Many rivers in Alaska and their drainage systems have been classified as ~-~portant for the spa~tng or migration of anadromous fish. Operations in these areas are subject to AS 16.05.870 and the regulations promulgated thereunder (Title 5, Alaska Administrative C~de). Prior to commencing operations you may be contacted by the Habitat Coordinator' Office, Depart~ent of Fish and Game. pollution of any waters of the State is prohibited by A.q 46, Chapter 3, Article 7 and the regulations pro~ulgated thereunder (Title 18, Alaska Administrative Code, Chapter 70) and by the Federal l~ater Pollution Control Act, as amended. At 1050', the directional paths of the two wells begin to diverge. The radii of the cones of uncertainty for either well at 1050'MD is 4'. The areas of uncertainty do not overlap. Because of the above conditions, ARCO Alaska, Inc., does not plan on taking any specific measures to avoid a wellbore collision. JEO/JG5PD12a'tw TION. NOTES: 1.
