O Box 196612 Anchorage, AK 99519-6612 Re: No-Flow Verification, seven wells BPX PBU -- five on S Pad & two on U Pad Dear Mr. Bixby/Farris: Our inspector Lou Grimaldi witnessed no-flow tests on and recommended no-flow status for the seven BPX PBU wells listed below. The wells were open to an atmospheric tank to determine fluid production (there was none), and monitored through a gas meter to determine gas production rates. The inspector recommended "no-flow" status for the wells listed below. Well No. PTD No. Test Date Fld Rate Gas Rate 'S-13 82-135 0/26/94 dead 135 scf/h S-16 84-084 10/26/94 dead 0 scf/h S-20 86-147 10/26/94 dead 240 scf/h U-6 84-078 10/26/94 dead 360 scf/hr U-8 ~.84-102 10/26/94 dead 300 scf/hr The above wells meet the criteria of a "no-flow" performance test, and as such are considered incapable of flow to the surface. Under 'the authority of Conservation Order 145, Rule 5 (amended by CO 333), these wells are not required to have a fail safe automatic SSSV. However, the surface safety valve and pilot must be maintained in good working condition, and if for any reason the wells again become capable of unassisted flow of hydrOcarbons, the subsurface safety valves must be reinstalled and maintained in good working condition. Using the APl RP 42 emulsion testing procedures, test emulsion tendencies when mixing a wellhead fluid sample with live and spent 15% HCL (with additives) at 1-80 deg F. Test with 5000 ppm ferric ion added. Adjust the type and volumes of additives as dictated by the emulsion test results. Run a caliper log in the 7 inch from below the bottom perf to the tubing tail. Mr. T. N. Tyler Manager, Reservoir Operations Sohio Alaska Petroleum Company P. O. Box 196612 Anchorage, Alaska 99519-6612 Dear Mr. Tyler: The referenced application, dated November 18, 1985, requests that the Prudhoe Bay Unit wells K-4 and U-8, be designated to serve as key wells in the bottomhole pressure survey program. Neither the "K" pad nor the "Un pad have a designated key yell at this time. The wells nominated by Sohio Alaska Petroleum Company appear to be suitable to monitor the pressure in the Prudhoe Oil Pool. Therefore, by this letter, the Alaska Oil and Oas Conservation Commission approves the addition of the Prudhoe Bay Unit wells K-4 and U-'8 to the key well roster for the monitoring of the pressure in the Prudhoe Oil Pool.
