O. Box 1601 Fairbanks, AK 99707 RE: Injection of Waste Water, Prudhoe General Permit No- $SL~0-B001 Dear Mr. Fristoe: The Prudhoe list of wells has again changed and this notice adds one well to be drilled at Drill Site ~t18. My ~une 20, 1956 notice indicated that only eighteen wells were expected. It has been established that nineteen wells are currently planned for the drill site. By this notice ARCO Alaska, Inc. requests that well D.S. 18-19 be added to the list of wells approved for annular injection of waste water. This well will be drilled in the near future because the rig will start on the higher well numbers and drill future wells in decending order. In your 3uly 15, 1986 letter, you requested information or verification about the field plan of activities. Based on my review of the previous material forwarded and the reports to date, I believe the most important question is: what is the current status and what are the proceedures to be followed. The previous notices have included a great deal of information, but it is difficult to review each notice and constantly review the files to verify to procedures. At this point it is also difficult to simply verify the approved, approved and used, approved not used, and future wells. In order to address the concern, I will, as part of the ARCO second quarter report, provide an update to verify the past, present, and future injection status. It is my plan to provide this information for each field by the end of September. When the report is available, some of the "status" questions should be easily verified. The enclosures to this letter provide the additional requested by the general permit. Should you have additional information, please let me know. information that is a question or desire Sincerely, Peter N. Notification Considerations Prudhoe Bay Field (EOA) Waste Water Disposal Permit No. $5#0-DB001 Information requested by condition I, B is: 1. Well designation - D.S. 18-19. 2. Materials to be injected - as described in permit application dated March 15, 1985. 3. Volume - the estimate volume is 60,000 bbls. This is an estimate, an actual volume may be larger or smaller. Therefore, we continue to request that the volume approved for injection be an average of the number of wells approved for the field. 4. Injection zone - as described by our permit application dated March 26, 1985, the zone is the Tertiary or Sagavanirktok formation. This depth is greater than 1,000 feet TVD. 5. Injection depth - greater than 2,000, but less than 4,000 feet, targeted to be 3,500 feet TVD. This is subject to change depending on drilling parameters. 6. Date of injection - not known. Could be as early as September 15, 1986. 7. Well schematic - as described in previous applications, March 26, 1985. 8. Seal method - in accordance with methods approved by AOGCC. Will include cementing the point of injection and arctic packing the annulus. 9. Seal date - not known, the annulus is normally sealed before the rig moves off location. I0.
