Dear Commissioner Johnston'
Reference is made to your September 2, 1994 letter, a copy of which is attached
for your reference.
At this time BPX plans for the noted wells are as follows:
1)
2)
3)
BPX Ekvik #1 - Our current plan is to inspect the well site post break-up
(circa July, 1995) with the purpose of establishing the status of the marker
post at the tundra level. Assuming the post is incorrectly positioned, we
plan to return to the site in the Autumn (circa September or October) to
rectify and make final clearance.
E~P^'" r-a~,, n"' ~ 'Lake #1 - Our plan '~s the same, as notea' for "-,I,e "'"r-,,,v~k" we~i.''~C~I-,[.)./' ~(!~.~
Conoco Badami #1 - BPX assessment indicates ponding around the well
location appears extensive and could possibly enlarge. Our plan is to
monitor changes in 1995 and obtain necessary permits for filling the
depression in 1996-1997. If feasible we would prefer to perform this work in
conjunction with Badami development gravel work.

Re:
Location Clearance Inspections
Eight (8) North Slope Wells.
Dear Mr. Zseleczky:
On August 24, 1994, our Inspector Lou Grimaldi accompanied Wade Stock,
your reprensentaive, on location inspections of six BPX and two Conoco
North Slope wells. Three of the wells were not ready for location
clearance.
On two BPX wells and one Conoco well he found problems on the locations
to the extent that he could not recommend location clearance. The wells
and the major problems are as follows:
BPX Ekvik ~1 PTD 89-020
Casing stub is 1-2' above
tundra level.
BPX Fawn Lake 1 PTD 90-013
Casing stub is level with
the tundra.
Conoco Badami #1 PTD 91-144
Depression 8-12' wide x 2-4'
deep around well location.
Please advise the Commission as to your plans for these wells.

Location Clearance inspection
BPX Fawn Lake #1
Sec.25, T12N, R13E, Umiat
PTD #90-013
Wednesday, Auqust 24, 1994: I made a Location Clearance on BPX exploratory well
Fawn Lake #1.
Wade Srock (BPX rep.) Accompanied me on my inspection. The location was very clean
with all evidence of the drilling activity gone. The marker post consisted of a 4" pipe with
the well info bead welded to it. The post had originally been welded to the 9 5/8 but had
frost heaved off. The 9 5/8" is not the outside string on this well and I suggest that when
the post is rewelded on that a plate be welded on the 13 3/8" casing and the post be
welded to that. The casing stub was visible and approximately level with the tundra. This
does not conform to accepted surface abandonement procedures which require removal
of all casing strings down to 3' - 5' below tundra level.
I recommend Fawn Lake #1 not to be granted a final location clearance until the situation
with the marker post and casing stub is resolved.

Dear Mr. Dickey:
Re: Core Analysis
File No.: 70075
Enclosed is a final core analysis report for routine core
analysis tests performed on material from the Wildcat Fawn
Lake #1 well. Laboratory procedures have been included for
your reference.
We appreciate this opportunity to be of service and trust
these data prove beneficial to the development of this

ROUTINE CORE ANALYSIS
1. Drill 1" diameter plug and trim to right cylinder.
2. Extract water and hydrocarbons from sample using Dean-Stark toluene
method. Record produced water volume.
3. Vacuum dry at 150°F until weight is stable. Allow sample to cool
and weigh to the nearest 0.01 gram.
4. Measure bulk volume using mercury immersion method.
5. Measure sand grain volume using a Boyle's Law helium porosimeter.
Calculate porosity, saturations, and grain density.
6. Mount sample in a hydrostatic Hassler-type sleeve using a confining
stress of 300 psi.
7. Measure permeability with nitrogen gas using a calibrated flow
tube-type permeameter.

These results must be used with caution. Sjcle~sLL samples are obtained by
impact coring. This method can fracture hard formations, thereby possibly
increasing the porosity and permeability, in soft formations, impact coring can
compact the sampLes, resulting in cie creased porosity and permeability.
DrilLing mud may penetrate fractures end soft formations, thereby affecting the
porosity, pemeabitit¥, fluid saturation, grain density end cation exchange
capacity results.

Dear Mr Miller:
Enclosed is the approved application for permit to drill the
above referenced well.
The permit to drill does not exempt you from obtaining additional
permits required by law from other governmental agencies, and
does not authorize conducting drilling operations until all other
required permitting determinations are made.
To aid us in scheduling field work, please notify this office 24
hours prior to commencing installation of the blowout prevention
equipment so that a representative of the Commission may be
present to witness testing of the equipment before the surface
casing shoe is drilled. Where a diverter system is required,
please also notify this office 24 hours prior to commencing
equipment installation so that the Commission may witness testing
before drilling below the shoe of the conductor pipe.

PROPOSED DRILLING AND COMPLETION PROGRAM
FAWN LAKE #1
Obiective:
It is proposed to drill Fawn Lake #1 as an Exploration well during
the early winter months of 1990. The well is to be drilled from an
ice pad to be built approximately 2 miles northeast of the BP X
Prudhoe Bay Unit T-pad. An ice road from T-pad will provide access.
The well will be a vertical hole to approximately 8566' tvd bkb. No
overpressured zones are expected and seismic data indicates no
shallow gas pockets.
O~)eration:
Install and cement 80' of 20" conductor to surface.
Diverter.
Install 20"
Drill 17-1/2" hole vertically to 2700' and cement 13-3/8", 72#/ft,
L-80 Buttress casing to surface.
Install blowout prevention equipment consisting of 5000 psi W.P.
pipe rams, blind rams, and annular preventer. Maximum expected
bottom-hole pressure is 4100 psi at 7920' TVDss. Maximum
possible surface pressure is 3100 psi based on a gas column to
surface.
Drill a maximum of 10' of new hole and perform a formation leak-off
test. Drill, and core an 8-1/2" hole vertically to TD at approximately
8566'. Run open hole logs and seismic. If testing is required, run 7",
29#/ft and 32#/ft, L-80 BTC casing from TD to surface and cement
using Class G cement. Any testing will be done with the rig on
location.
Clean out to 7" float equipment. Change over to 10.0 ppg NaCI
completion fluid. Test casing to 3000 psi. Rig up test facilities and
flow test the well through drill pipe or tubing.
Suspend or abandon the well with the appropriate plugs and markers
according to AOGCC regulations. Move the rig and equipment from
location and clean the pad and the ice road access area.
/~4Z~a~W~aste fluids incidental to the well will be trucked from the location
to an approved disposal site or pumped down the 7" x 13-3/8"
annulus. If the well is suspended, the 7"x 13-3/8" annulus and the
inside of the 7" casing will be adequately freeze protected.
