Anchorage, Alaska 99501 Ailt;Ilf` 44e _ 0 Subject: Corrosion Inhibitor Treatments of GPB Y Pad 19 I- 0 i 3 Dear Mr. Maunder, Enclosed please find multiple copies of a spreadsheet with a list of wells from Y Pad that were treated with corrosion inhibitor in the surface casing by conductor annulus. The corrosion inhibitor is engineered to prevent water from entering the annular space and causing external corrosion that could result in a surface casing leak to atmosphere. The attached spreadsheet represents the well name, API and PTD numbers, top of cement depth prior to filling and volumes of corrosion inhibitor used in each conductor. As per previous agreement with the AOGCC, this letter and spreadsheet serve as notification that the treatments took place and meet the requirements of form 10 -404, Report of Sundry Operations. If you require any additional information, please contact me or my alternate, Jerry Murphy, at 659 -5102. Sincerely, Torin Roschinger BPXA, Well Integrity Coordinator • • BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc. Drilling & Wells Coiled Tubing Drilling Team Well Y-30 is scheduled for a through tubing sidetrack to be drilled with coiled tubing. The following summarizes the procedure required to prep Y-30 for drilling and is submitted as an attachment to Form 10-403. A schematic diagram of this proposed completion is attached. 1. Tree wing & master valves will be tested. 2. Using slickline, tubing will be ddfted & gas lift mandrels will be dummied off. 3. Inner Annulus will be liquid packed and pressure tested. 4. Using wireline a Baker 4-1/2" x 5-1/2" through tubing whipstock will be run & set at approximately 9120'md (8828' TVDss). $. Service coil may then mill a 3.8" window out of the 5-1/2" liner. Slickline, wireline & service coil prep work is expected to commence August 10th. Coil tubing drilling operations, as detailed below will commence August 17th, 2001. 1_. A 3-%" sidetrack, -1700' long will be drilled out of 5-1/2" liner into Zone 4. 2. The sidetrack will be completed with a 3-1/2" x 2-7/8", slotted & uncemented liner. The Drilling fluid program will consist of an 8.5-9.5 ppg spud mud in the 13-1/2" hole, a 9-9.8 ppg water base mud in the 9-7/8" hole and a 8.8 ppg water base mud in the 6-3/4" hole. Drill 13-1/2" hole to 2700' MD and cement 10-3/4" 45# L-80 Buttress casing to surface. Install blowout prevention equipment consisting of 5000 psi W.P. pipe rams, blind rams, and annular preventer. Maximum possible bottomhole pressure is 4390 psi at 8800' TVDss based on original reservoir pressure. Maximum possible surface pressure is 3330 psi based on a gas column to surface from 8600' TVDss and an oil column to 8800' TVDss. Directionally drill 9-7/8" hole to the 7-5/8" casing point at the top of Sag River formation. Run 7-5/8" 29.7# L-80 NSCC casing to within 10' of 9-7/8" TD and cement with Class G cement around the 7-5/8" shoe. The annulus will be freeze protected by dry crude. Formation leak-off tests will be performed 10' below both 10-3/4" casing shoe and 7-5/8" casing shoe as per AAC 25.030. Directional drill 6-3/4" hole to TD. Run 5-1/2" liner from TD to 250' inside 7-5/8" casing shoe and cement using Class G cement. Clean out to 5-1/2" float equipment. Change over to NaCL completion fluid. Test casing and lap to 3000 psi. Run 7-5/8" production packer on tubing. Set packer 50' above top of liner. A subsurface safety valve with dual control lines will be placed 100' below base of permafrost. Install and test Xmas tree. Displace tubing to diesel. Set and test packer. The well will be perforated after rig release. Fluids incidental to the drilling of a well will be pumped down the 7-5/8" x 10-3/4" annulus of the well.
