The submitted suspended well inspection reflects the current condition of the well (reference 20 AAC 25.110 (f)) and supports the request for renewal of suspension. Recent events from this well indicate that this well is mechanically sound. Specific attachments include: x Suspended Well Site Inspection form documenting the pressures and site condition. x Wellbore diagram illustrating the current configuration of the well. Prudhoe well Y-02A was suspended on 09/24/2013 and has future utility as a rig sidetrack candidate. The strata through which the well was drilled is neither abnormally geopressured nor depleted. The well is mechanically sound and secured with a passing MIT-T and MIT-IA to 2500 psi on 09/22/2013. Based on these conditions and the inspection on 08/20/2022 Prudhoe well Y-02A meets the provisions required in 20 AAC 25.110 (a)(1). Hilcorp North Slope, LLC requests approval for renewal of the existing suspension status for this well. Attached is an Application for Sundry Approval (10-403) with a technical justification summarizing the information on the current status and condition of the well (reference 20 AAC 25.110 (a), (b), (e), (h)). In summary, Hilcorp believes Prudhoe well Y-02A is mechanically sound and secure and meets the requirements for renewal of suspended status. If you have any questions, please call me at 406-570-9630 or Oliver Sternicki at 907-564-4891. The well was shut-in in October 2005 due to TxIAxOA communication and the decision was made in 2012 to reservoir abandon and suspend the well as a risk reduction measure due to the known failed tubing and IAxOA communication. Work was approved and completed under sundry # 312-372 to leave the WRP in place at 9375’ MD and cement the tubing and IA up to ~7520’ MD. Post cement job, an MIT-T and MIT-IA passed to 2500 psi on 09/22/2013. The well future utility is as a sidetrack candidate. The well will not allow the migration of fluids, will not damage freshwater or producing or potentially producing formations, will not impair the recovery of oil or gas, and is secure, safe and not a threat to public health. The strata through which the well was drilled is neither abnormally geo-pressured or depleted. Condition of the Wellhead and Surface Location Prudhoe well Y-02A is located on an active, well maintained pad with clean gravel. The pit and surrounding area are in good condition. There is no discoloration and no sheens on the pad, pits, or in nearby water. The well pressure readings are T/I/O = 14/ 479/ 404 psi. Request Hilcorp North Slope, LLC requests approval for renewal of the existing suspension status for Y- 02A. A variance to the provisions of 20 AAC 25.110 (c) (2) is also requested under 20 AAC 25.112 (i) to allow the well to remain as suspended in its current condition. All hydrocarbon intervals are isolated and there are no underground sources of fresh water in this area. Suspended Well Inspection Review Report Reviewed By: P.I. Initial 0 bfpd were over 3000 bopd, 0% WC. Rates declined to 2000 b pd while water rates increased. A RWO was completed in this well in 1987 to replace the tubing. In mid - 1990, the well was frac'd with rates increasing from -500 bfpd back up to 3000 bfpd. ✓ However water -cut increased to over 90% by 1996 with oil rates plummeting to less than 200 bopd. The Y -02 wellbore produced 5.09 mmbo over its life. This well was then sidetracked by coil to the Y -02A location in 2001 as a horizontal well completed with solid and cemented /perforated liner. The initial SBHP was low (3073 psi on 10/11/2001) and production rapidly declined. The WC was initially low but water break through Additional started in early 2002, increased again in early 2003 and a third time in late 2004. perforations of 190' were shot in March 2002 with total gross fluid increasing to 1000 BPD for only one test. In Feb 2003, A DAD acid stimulation was completed and the well showed a positive response. In June 2005 an attempt to perform deep GLD design was unsuccessful due to the failure to retrieve the SO at Sta #4. The last increase in water in 2004 increased total fluid rate from about 700 bfpd to 2000 bfpd. Cum oil production from the Y -02A wellbore has only been 194,000 bo. T - mechanical inte•rit of this well has a histo of TxIAXOA communication and has ' - been SI since October of 2005. The tubing does have a confirmed hole at 8914' MD. In ej reviewing the IAxOA communication, it looks like at minimum one good seal on the IC 1 ' packoffs and most likely the only leak point there is, is past the secondary seals from the /0.4. test void out to the IA. This type of leak would not cause IAxOA comm. The more likely culprit is either the DV or a thread leak in the 9-5/8. 7o repair any of those non rig would require a leak point (TecWel) LDL to spot the leak site and then SealTite. However, there has been little success in this type of repair. Currently, the Sag /Ivishak zones are isolated from the tubing with a WRP and the well is secure. Normally, to abandon the reservoir, the plug would be pulled and a 100 ft cement plug would be set above the Sag River zone (Top Sag 10173'MD). In order to Vexicsa--ilc minimize risk, we request a deviation from this requirement, and instead, place a cement plug from 9326' MD (just above the packer) to approximately 7500' in both the tubing and inner annulus. This plug will effectively isolate the reservoir. ! ®. The following summarizes the proposed work on Y -02A to abandon the reservoir. . The corrosion inhibitor is engineered to prevent water from entering the annular space and causing external corrosion that could result in a surface casing leak to atmosphere. The attached spreadsheet represents the well name, API and PTD numbers, top of cement depth prior to filling and volumes of corrosion inhibitor used in each conductor. As per previous agreement with the AOGCC, this letter and spreadsheet serve as notification that the treatments took place and meet the requirements of form 10 -404, Report of Sundry Operations. Specific prep work, (Phase 1) and drilling, (Phase 2) operations are detailed below. Phase 1: Isolate & integrity test inner annulus, (IA). Drift liner and set whipstock. Mill window if service coil is available. Planned for August 24, 2001 · Drift well with dummy whipstock to 10,300' SLM. · Perform Integrity test IA after displacing to seawater & installing dummy gas lift valves. · Set through tubing whipstock using e-line at approx. 10,180' (top of whipstock). · Mill window with service coil if available. Phase 2: Drill and Complete CTD horizontal extension: Planned for August 29, 2001 2%" coil will be used to drill a -1300 foot, 33A'' open hole sidetrack, (as per attached plan) and run a solid & cemented 3-3/16" x 2~" liner completion. Mud Program: · Phase 1: Seawater · Phase 2: Seawater and FIo-Pro (8.6 - 8.7 ppg) Disposal: · No annular injection on this well. · All drilling and completion fluids and all other Class II wastes will go to Grind & Inject. · All Class I wastes will go to Pad 3 for disposal. Casing Program: · 3.3/16", L-80, solid liner will be run from 9415'md (TOL, 8029' TVDss)to approx. 10,280'md, (TSAD, Zone 4) and then crossed over to 2¥8", L-80, solid liner to TD at approx 11,472'md. The liner will then be cemented. Well Control: · BOP diagram is attached. · Pipe rams, blind rams and the CT pack off will be pressure tested to 300 psi and to 3,500 psi. · The annular preventer will be tested to 400 psi and 2,200 psi. Directional · See attached directional plan. · Magnetic and inclination surveys will be taken every 30 ft. No gyro will be run. Logging · An MWD Gamma Ray + Resistivity log will be run over the open hole section. · Memory CNL will be run in the cased hole after reaching TD. Hazards · H2S was measured at 20 ppm on Aug 3, 2001. · 2 fault crossings are prognosed. Both faults have a NE-SW orientation, and relatively small, 10-15' throws. Based on fault orientation (-perpendicular to the regional NW-SE stress field), throws & associated damage zones, and the absence of historical lost circulation problems in the area, the drilling hazard risk is Iow. Reservoir Pressure · Reservoir pressure is estimated to be 3,500 psi at 8,800ss. Maximum surface pressure with gas (0.12 psi/ft) to surface is 2,444 psi.
