The corrosion inhibitor is engineered to prevent water from entering the annular space and causing external corrosion that could result in a surface casing leak to atmosphere. The attached spreadsheet represents the well name, top of cement depth prior to filling and volumes of corrosion inhibitor used in each conductor. As per previous agreement with the AOGCC, this letter and spreadsheet serve as notification that the treatments took place and meet the requirements of form 10-404, Report of Sundry Operations. Although this well is allowed to produce under dispensation from the Well Integrity System Policy until 12/31/07 if all compliance testing remains current, we are currently progressing a tubing patch program. The well is currently shut-in and will remain so ~- until the tubing hole is repaired. The well has been reclassified as Not Operable. Please remove any waiver related signage from the wellhouse. The well was waivered for TxlAxOA communication on 3/11/04, but the WI Risk Assessment findings require the well to be repaired or 81 by 12/31/05. Recent gas lift valve work was unsuccessful in restoring tubing integrity, therefore the well must be 81 and waiver cancelled. Good news: TIO pressure data shows the IAxOA communication to be manageable by bleeds so the plan forward is to set a TTP and get a CMIT-TxIA to write a new TxlA comm waiver. Until the new waiver can be written the old waiver is cancelled and well status is Trouble. Please call with questions. Oor~r,~ission Anchora~e S-38 Conventional Injector Drilling Problems & Concerns: It was recently determined that the liner cement jobs on R-31, R-31, and R-25 exhibit channeling and/or poor cement bond Icg results. Each will likely requires CTU squeezes. The importance of liner (and casing) reciprocation and cement displacement rate cannot be over emphasized. A copy of the S-pad data sheet has been delivered to 28E. A review of drilling problems has been completed and are described as follows: Bridges in surface hole have occured at 500' and 2000'-2200'. Tight hole and swabbing have been noted. Hole washouts and the related high volume of gravel etc have caused cuttings handling problems. The Tertiary/Cretaceous injection interval (3876' - 5600' tvd) is overpressured by +/-125 psi. A mud weight of 9.5 to 9.7 ppg should be used through this interval to prevent salt water incursions. S-33 experienced gas cut mud as shallow as 3841' md/tvd on 10/9/92. The mud weight was cut from 9.6 to 8;9 ppg. No flow was experienced. The mud weight was raised to 9.9 ppg and no additional gas was noted. S-3 had oil shows at +/-4000' tvd and 10.1 ppg mud was used to drill this interval. S-3 also experienced gas cut mud in the Kuparuk interval(6700' - 6800' tvd) and 10.5 ppg mud was used. Weight up to 10.2 ppg minimum before drilling Kuparuk interval. Tight hole problems are common in the Jurassic shales starting below the Kuparuk. Mud weights are typically up to 9.9 ppg or higher as required to control the Kuparuk. Mud fluid loss (less than 6 cc) help to stabilize shales. The 9-5/8" casing must be centralized through the Kuparuk to maximize isolation(details on cementing page). The Sag has been accidentally penetrated with 9.9 ppg mud weights with no problem. However, S-37 experienced partial lost returns while drilling the Shublik interval with 9.0 ppg mud. LCM was used to successfully slow/stop loss. The possibility of lost circulation does exist. S-15 set intermediate casing with 60' of shale open above the Sag. This hole interval was lost while attempting to drill out with 9.0 ppg mud. There should be no problem if the casing point (Sag River) is properly chosen. The Sag is normally drilled with 9.0-9.5 ppg mud. Lost circulation has been noted, independent of mud weight.. The Shublik drills slowly and may be highly fractured. High torque and differential sticking are common. The mud weight should be kept at 9.0-9.5 to help minimize the potential for lost circulation.
