Attn: Well Integrity Coordinator, PRB -20 Post Office Box 196612 Anchorage, Alaska 99519 -6612 May 18, 2012 Mr. Jim Regg Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission Lfl1 333 West 7 Avenue Anchorage, Alaska 99501 © v i n 3 Subject: Corrosion Inhibitor Treatments of GPB M -Pad IYt Dear Mr. Regg, Enclosed please find multiple copies of a spreadsheet with a list of wells from GPB Pad M that were treated with corrosion inhibitor in the surface casing by conductor annulus. The corrosion inhibitor is engineered to prevent water from entering the annular space and causing external corrosion that could result in a surface casing leak to atmosphere. The attached spreadsheet represents the well name, API and PTD numbers, top of cement depth prior to filling and volumes of corrosion inhibitor used in each conductor. As per previous agreement with the AOGCC, this letter and spreadsheet serve as notification that the treatments took place and meet the requirements of form 10 -404, Report of Sundry Operations. If you require any additional information, please contact me or my alternate, Gerald Murphy, at 659 -5102. The test was begun at 0400 hours and was concluded at 0630 hours. The test went well with two failures observed. The isolation valve between the blooey line and the hydraulic choke on the buffer failed, this valve was greased and tested again successfully, but when we cycled it the valve failed to hold pressure. The second failure was the Gas detectors although showing gas present did not signal the high gas alarm. The rig electrician will re calibrate these and report to the toolpusher Jim Willingham. The rig and it's surrounding area was neat and orderly with good access provided for. NOTE: SUNDAY JUNE 28 1993 1400 hours Jim Willingham contacted me with a update, the valve had been repaired with a new gate and seat set. The gas detectors had been worked on with somewhat satisfactory results, New sensor's have been ordered and the system shall be fully repaired by the next scheduled Bop test. OBJECTIVE The objective of this sidetrack is to increase oil production and reduce water production with a replacement wellbore. M-27 is currently producing at a very high watercut. The water production is due to a combination of a possible channel and a very aggressive frac design. The well was initially perforated in 1990 and was on production for 9 months without any significant water production. An acid job in October 1990 resulted in the watercut jumping to 30%. The water production is probably due to a channel being formed due to the acid. Six months later the well was fraced at 40 bpm with a pad volume of 21 mgals. · Well status: Producer · Qo = 500 BOPD WC = 85% · Current Well Problems: GOR = 2000 scf/stb 1. High Water Production 2. Anticipated initial rate: Qo = 1500 BOPD WC = 0% GOR - 1500 scf/stb _~!-27A Drilling Permit Informatiol. IMPACT ON FUTURE DEVELOPMENT M-27 is a producer in the current HVGR phase 2 development plan and the sidetrack location is compatible with the current plan. M-27 current performance is less than optimum due to the size of the fracture treatment and a potential channel caused by an acid treatment. Undoubtedly, the performance of M-27 will be improved by this sidetrack. However, there are very few control points on this periphery to tie down the exact LOC thickness and potential rate. Further, the LOC and rate data gathered from this sidetrack will greatly reduce the risk associated with HVGR phase 2, especially the new wells proposed on the southern periphery of the NWFB. If the GLOC encountered in M-27A is less than 50' then it is very questionable whether other new wells in this area proposed for HVGR phase 2 will be drilled. WELL HISTORY M-27 was drilled in Decemeber 1989 and put on production in January 1990. The initial rate was 8000 bopd at 0% watercut but declined to 2000 bopd at 0% watercut in October 1990. An Acid job performed in October 1990 resulted in a sharp increase in watercut - the production data implies the formation of a channel. A production log run in January 1991 indicates an increase in temperature up to 10' below the lower set of perforations; this is indicative of a channel but is not conclusive. A plug was set above the lower set of perforations (in WD packer ) and the well was Fraced in April 1991. The Frac pad volume was 21 mgals pumped at 40 bpm; enough to frac into Zone 3.
