Subject: Corrosion Inhibitor Treatments of GPB M -Pad
Dear Mr. Regg,
Enclosed please find multiple copies of a spreadsheet with a list of wells from GPB Pad
M that were treated with corrosion inhibitor in the surface casing by conductor annulus.
The corrosion inhibitor is engineered to prevent water from entering the annular space
and causing external corrosion that could result in a surface casing leak to atmosphere.
The attached spreadsheet represents the well name, API and PTD numbers, top of
cement depth prior to filling and volumes of corrosion inhibitor used in each conductor.
As per previous agreement with the AOGCC, this letter and spreadsheet serve as
notification that the treatments took place and meet the requirements of form 10 -404,
Report of Sundry Operations.
If you require any additional information, please contact me or my alternate, Gerald
Murphy, at 659 -5102.
Sincerely,
Mehreen Vazir

Stimulation Operation
04/30/98
A Acid Stimulation Treatment was performed using the following
fluids:
SUMMARY
MIRU DS CTU #6. Pick up BHA #1. RIH, dry tag fill at 11738'. Circulate out fill
from 11738' to 11880'. Circulate clean and chase fill out of hole. RIH, circulate
water to liquid pack well. Dry tag at 11740'. Make several attempts, tag at
different place each time (from 11730' to 11800'). Begin pumping and RIH to
11865'. String weight was erratic through the interval 11735' to 11800'. Well
was on a screaming vacuum, could not Icad production tubing to fluid pack.
Pump 70 bbls 15%Hcl/10% Xylene acid mixture with additives(described below)
while jetting through perforations from 11300' to 11825'. Stuck pipe at 11450'
while reciprocating up. Work pipe to maximum string weight several times,
finally pull free. Pull maximum weight several times from 11450' to 11426'.
Finally pulled free (may be differential sticking, but did not flow well and risk the
possibly of bringing in sand). Overdisplace acid with 200 bbls filtered KCL water.
POH, freeze protect top 2000' of tubing and coil. RD DS CTU #6. Leave well
shut in pending decision to attempt perforating.

Enclosed is the approved application for permit to ddll the above referenced well.
The permit to drill does not exempt you from obtaining additional permits required by law from other
governmental agencies, and does not authorize conducting drilling operations until all other required
permitting determinations are made.
Blowout prevention equipment (BOPE) must be tested in accordance with 20 AAC 25.035. Sufficient
notice (approximately 24 hours) of the BOPE test performed before drilling below the surface casing
shoe must be given so that a representative of the Commission may witness the test. Notice may be
given by contacting the Commission petroleum field inspector on the North Slope pager at 659-3607.

OBJECTIVE:
The main objectives of this sidetrack are to improve the production performance of M-06
and the associated waterflood patterns, and reduce the potential development costs for
HVGR phase 2. M-06 is located in a highly prolific area of M-Pad and with a net LOC of
130' tvd could produce up to 5000 bopd. This sidetrack location will replace a infill
development well proposed for HVGR phase 2.
CURRENT STATUS:
M-06 has a history of high water production and is located to the East of a small fault which
is less than 150' from the producing interval. The fault has a throw of approximately 20' at
the location of M-06 and increases in throw up to 30' adjacent to injector M-13. The fault
connects into another fault adjacent to M-13 which is known to conduct water. The fault
adjacent to M-06 is probably responsible for the history of high water production in the
well. M-06 is fraced and is currently producing from Zone 4. An inflatable bridge plug is set
in the 7" liner approximately 50' above the base of Zone 4 and is preventing water
production from Zone 3. Below the bridge plug are numerous open perforations that have
broken down after unsuccessful cement squeezes. A kinley survey run in 1990 identified 2
holes in the 7" liner adjacent to Zone 3. The well was fraced in September 1991 but
observed a high leak off coefficient, which is indicative of contacting a high permeability
conduit. The tubing has recently failed a pressure integrity test; a hole is suspected and
remedial action will be required. M-06 is currently producing 400 bopd at 80% watercut.
PERMITTING:
The attached sundry notice covers the plugback of the original well and the drilling permit
covers the proposed drilling program.
