Attn: Well Integrity Coordinator, PRB -20 0 Post Office Box 196612 Anchorage, Alaska 99519 -6612 August 22, 2011 , RECEIVED Mr. Tom Maunder 1t1G 3 . 2011 Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission 333 West 7 Avenue Malta Oil & Gsa Ce+s• Anchorage, Alaska 99501 Anc#iera Subject: Corrosion Inhibitor Treatments of GPB P -Pad Dear Mr. Maunder, ag Enclosed please find multiple copies of a spreadsheet with a list of wells from GPB P- Pad that were treated with corrosion inhibitor in the surface casing by conductor annulus. The corrosion inhibitor is engineered to prevent water from entering the annular space and causing external corrosion that could result in a surface casing leak to atmosphere. The attached spreadsheet represents the well name, API and PTD numbers, top of cement depth prior to filling and volumes of corrosion inhibitor used in each conductor. As per previous agreement with the AOGCC, this letter and spreadsheet serve as notification that the treatments took place and meet the requirements of form 10 -404, Report of Sundry Operations. If you require any additional information, please contact me or my alternate, Gerald Murphy, at 659 -5102. Sincerely, Mehreen Vazir BPXA, Well Integrity Coordinator • r BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc. The well is capable of producing at 240 BOPD, 580 BWPD (70% WC), 0.3 MM formation gas, when lifting with 2.3 MM lift gas. Since the well has 4.5" tubing, it is unlikely to be able to flow on it's own. Since it is only three years old, the risk of a casing leak should be Iow. It is requested that a variance be granted to flow P-22 pending evaluation of a Sag lateral. Proposed schedule is as follows... 1. Perform a no flow test. If the well passes, return to production. 2. Evaluate RWO to pull tubing and drill Sag lateral. If RWO is uneconomic, evaluate cement packer repair. Target for RWO completion is spring breakup in 1997. PU to 32k several times. SI well to load up but no movement seen. Cycled coil at a variety of pump rates, ie. high P/low pull over 2 hours. Cracked open wing to ensure that gas was minimsed. Slacked off to 12k and PU to 32 k and it eventually came free. POOH to change PDM, cut off 42' pipe and try out less agressive mill. Run 3. Run 3.55" bullnose carbide mill. PTD # 93-121 Friday, September 24, 1993: I traveled to BPX's P-pad and witnessed the function test of Nabors 28E diverter system. The Diverter Systems Inspection Report is attached for reference. The function test began at 11:00 a.m. and went well. I found the rig to be in good condition. All components functioned properly. There were two separate 10" knife valves off of the 20" hydrill diverter. The controls were such that only the starboard 10" knife valve would open when the hydrill closed. The port side 10" knife valve was operated using the kill line HCR controls. Depending on prevailing wind conditions, a manual valve was located outside on the starboard line to direct the flow to the port side. The diverter system can be defeated if the manual block valve is shut-in and the kill line HCR valve is not opened. I discussed my concerns with tool pusher, Mike Downey. He stated this is the same diverter system which 28E has employed for years. Mike also stated that Nabors is considering going 'to an installation similar to the exploration wells drilled last winter where a single straight 16" line is installed where possible. Doug Amos met with Mike Downey and company man James Carlile to further discuss their diverter layout. (Rev. 7/93) MEMORANDb,d State o, Alaska Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission TO: David Johnst~, Chairman DATE: September 27, 1993 THRU: Blair Wondzell, P. I. Supervisor FROM: Doug Amos~ SUBJECT: Petroleum Inspector FILE NO: qirhi I ac.doc Rig BPS/Inspection Nabors 28E BPX PBU P-22 Prudhoe Oil Pool PDT No. 93-121 Monday September 27, 1993: i traveled this date to BPX PBU P-22 well to conduct a Rig/BPS Inspection on Nabors Rig No. 28E. As the attached AOGCC Rig/BPS Inspection Report indicates/I found no non compliance items during the inspection. ! was asl~by Nabors representative Mike Downey to make some recommendation for changing the rigs Diverter System from the present two line configuration to a single 16" straight line. After our walk through inspection of the rig substructure, I recommended that the drillers console and mouse hole be moved to the opposite side of the rig floor. With the current arrangement, the mouse hole is directly in the substructure exit path of a single line configuration. The only other option with the mouse hole in it's current location is the use of a 45° turn directly off the csg spool or a targeted tee approximately 4 ft. downstream of the csg spool, in my opiniOn, from past history~the, se two arrangements are undesirable from a safety stand point due to[vent line wash-out, immediately down stream of the 45° turn or targeted tee. IN SUMMARY, conducted a Rig/BPS Inspection at BPX PBU P-22 well on Nabors Rig 28E, no failures. Attachments QIRHI1AC.XLS STATE OF ALASKA ALASKA ,. AND GAS CONSERVATION CC., RIG !
