HomeMy WebLinkAbout193-134oN OR BEFO ANLIARY 03 2001 Memorandum State of Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission To' Well File: 15-08A Permit # 93-0134 May 07, 1998 Re; Administrative Abandonment Action Prudhoe Bay Unit 15-08A Permit # 93-0134 This memo will remain at the front of the subject well file. Well 15-08A was replaced by 15-08B (permit # 97-0182, API# 50-029-21180-02) when the permit was approved 10/24/97. The replacement well incorporates a deepening operation of the existing well bore. This extension, along with the original hole, will be used for production of hydrocarbons. A review of both well files indicates administrative abandonment of the originating well bore is appropriate according to current AOGCC procedures for wells where additional permitted extension is drilled from an existing well bore. 20 AAC 25.005(e) requires a Permit to Drill for each hole drilled below the conductor unless drilled to straighten the original hole, sidetrack junk, or correct mechanical difficulties. In addition, AOGCC data bases require each conductor has only one permit number and API number. ~ Administrative abandonment of the original permit only eliminates duplication in the databases. Information for the original well and its replacement will be maintained in their respective files. The operator has been notified of this action. All future correspondence with the AOGCC should reflect the new permit number, AP1 number and well data. As the attached A.O.G.C.C. BOP TEST REPORT indicates this well is being worked over and the lower set of pipe rams were not able to be tested until the prod. tubing has been pulled. One failure was noted on a choke manifold valve, this was greased and retested ok. Nabors 2ES has instituted a maintenance program for the gas detectors and choke manifold valves. The gas detectors are checked every two weeks and calibrated if need be. The choke manifold valves are serviced on a monthly basis. The Nabors 2ES crew takes a great deal of pride in there rig, this shows in there housekeepin and how neatly there material was assembled on the sorrounding drillsite. This was an excellent test. Run 7" 29# 13-Cr x L80 NSCC standard liner assembly, with liner top packer, to TD with +/- 150' lap. 13-Cr should cover the reservoir section from TD to 300' MD above the GCC. 11. Cement liner with 520 ft3 class G cement. Volume is based on 50% excess open hole x liner annulus, 80' shoe, 150' liner lap, and 150' drillpipe x 9-5/8" annulus. 12. Re-test BOP's as needed. 13. Run in with 6" steerable drilling assembly with directional/(~R rvlWD on 4-1/2' x 3-1/2" drillpipe. Test casing to 3000 psi. Drill out liner, float shoe and 10' of new hole.
