Supervisor'''~' ~i~r¢..O \ FROM: Chuck Scheve; SUBJECT: Petroleum Inspector DATE: May 7, 2001 Safety Valve Tests Prudhoe Bay Unit Drill Site 12 Monday. May 7, 200t' I traveled to. BPXs Drill Site 12 and witnessed the semi annual safety valve System testing. As the attached AOGCC Safety Valve System Test Report indicates I witnessed the testing of 21 wells and 42 components with 1 failure. Thesurface safety valve on well 12-12 had a slow leak when pressure tested. This valve was serviced and retested by the operator on this date. Bill Preston (lead DS operator) performed the testing today; he demonstrated good test procedures and was a pleasure to work with. A walk through inspection of the well houses on this pad was performed during the SVS testing with no problems noted. All well houses inspected were reasonably clean and all equipment aPpeared to be in good condition. Summary: I witnessed the semi annual SVS testing at BPXs'Drill Site 12.
