Re: Prudhoe Bay Surface Casing by Conductor Annulus Top-offs of Cement, Corrosion Inhibitor
through 02/09/2024.
Dear Mr. Rixse,
Enclosed please find a copy of a spreadsheet with a list of Prudhoe Bay wells that were topped-off
with cement, corrosion inhibitor in the surface casing by conductor annulus through 02/09/2024.
Cement top-offs are executed as needed to mitigate the void space left at surface by minor cement
fallback during the primary surface casing by conductor cement job. The remaining void space
between the top of the cement and the top of the conductor is filled with a heavier than water
corrosion inhibitor to reduce the risk of external surface casing corrosion. The attached
spreadsheets include the well names, API and PTD numbers, treatment dates and volumes.
As per previous agreement with the AOGCC, this letter and spreadsheet serve as notification that
the treatments took place and meet the requirements of form 10-404 Report of Sundry Operations.
If you have any additional questions, please contact me at 564-4891 or
oliver.sternicki@hilcorp.com.
Sincerely,
Oliver Sternicki

ITEM 1: Classification of Service Wells: Gas injection, water injection, steam injection, air injection, salt water disposal, water supply for injection, observation,
injection for in-situ combustion.
ITEM 5: Indicate which elevation is used as reference (where not otherwise shown) for depth measurements given in other spaces on this form and in any
attachments.
ITEM 16 AND 24: If this well is completed for separate production from more than one interval (multiple completion), so state in item 16, and in item 24 show the
producing intervals for only the interval reported in item 27. Submit a separate form for each additional interval to be separately produced, showing the data
pertinent to such interval.
ITEM 21: Indicate whether from ground level (GL) or other elevation (DF, KB, etc.).
ITEM 23: Attached supplemental records for this well should show the details of any multiple stag.e cementing and the location of the cementing tool.

Dear Mr. Crane:
Enclosed is the approved application for pennit to drill the above referenced well.
The pennit to drill does not exempt you from obtaining additional pennits required by law from other
governmental agencies, and does not authorize conducting drilling operations until all other required
permitting determinations are made.
Annular disposal has not been requested as part. of the Permit to Drill application for Prudhoe Bay
Unit W-211.
Blowout prevention equipment (BOPE) must be tested in accordance with 20 AAC 25035.
Sufficient notice (approximately 24 hours) must be given to allow a representative of the
Commission to witness a test of BOPE installed prior to drilling new hole. Notice may be given by
contacting the Commission petroleum field inspector on the North Slope pager at 659-3607.

Drilling Hazards/Contingencies:
HYDROGEN SULFIDE - H2S
. W Pad is not designated as an H2S drill site, however Standard Operating
Procedures for H2S precautions should be followed at all times.
DRilliNG CLOSE APPROACH:
. All wells pass close approach guidelines.
Disposal:
. No annular injection in this well.
. Cuttings Handling: Cuttings generated from drilling operations will be hauled to grind and inject at
D8-04. Any metal cuttings will be sent to the North Slope Borough.

Job 1: MIRU
Hazards and Contingencies:
~ The adjacent well, W-27, is approximately 32' from the W-211 conductor. No wells are required
to be shut in.

Job 2: DrilI12~" Surface Hole
Hazards and Contingencies:
~ At W-Pad, no significant surface hole drilling problems have been identified. Minor tight hole has
been encountered in the clay sections below the permafrost, some lost circulation thought to be
in conjunction with the tight hole, possible packing off has been encountered.

Job3: Install Surface Casing
Hazards and Contingencies:
~ At W-Pad, Lost circulation has been experienced while running and cementing surface casing.
Be sure to condition and thin mud appropriately prior to pulling out of the hole to run casing.
Once on bottom with casing, bring circulation up slowly and reduce mud viscosities before
pumping cement.
~ It is critical that cement is circulated to surface for well integrity. 2500/0 excess cement is
planned through the permafrost zone and 300/0 excess is planned below the permafrost. As a
contingency, a 9-5/8" port collar will be positioned at +/-1000' MD to allow a secondary circulation
point as required.

Job 4: Drill 8%" Production Hole
Hazards and Contingencies:
~ Gas cut mud/well flowing has been observed in the Ugnu (3,459' TVDSS)./ThiS will be controlled
with appropriate mud weights. A minimum of 9.4 ppg is recommended.
~ Differential Sticking could be a problem if lost circulation is occurring or if the drill string is left
stationary for an extended period or time across the permeable Schrader Sands.
~ The kick tolerance for the 8-3/4" open hole section would be 59.2 bbls assuming an influx from
the Schrader Bluff interval at -5640' MD. This is a worst case scenario based on a 9.0 ppg pore
pressure gradient, a fracture gradient of 12.5 ppg at the 9-5/8" shoe, and 9.4 ppg mud in the
hole.
~ The well path in not expected to cross any faults.
Job 6: Install 7" Production CasinQ

> Tight hole, packing off anht circulation have been experienced whil lnning casing though
this interval. Good hole cleaning and mud conditioning are required for running this string.
> Differential Sticking could be a problem if lost circulation is occurring or if the casing is left
stationary for an extended period or time across the permeable sands. Ensure the casing is
centralized across any permeable zones if the casing is left stationary while running in the hole.
