the Kavik. Could the high gammalnon Kavik interval from
10550'-10650' be sluffing in on us due to a fault or hydrating
clays? New mud has claygard up to 8 ppb, and has only been
on formation for a short time. Will add more claygard if
problems persist.

Bleed down CT press.
Pull CT stub to reel and secure at reel. RID 2" hardline inside
reel.
Perform weekly BOPE Pressure I Function test. Witness
waived by AOGCC inspector, Jeff Jones. PJSM with Peak
personnel for swapping reel simops while BOPE testing.
Continue BOPE testing. Meanwhile swap out reel to new 2-3/8"
0.204 CT.
C/O brass & packoff. Prep to stab CT into injector. Pull CT with
tugger & place into counter. Secure CT with spooler clamp.
Hook-up hardline connections to reel.
PJSM for stabbing CT.
Pull CT into rig floor. Muleshoe CT tip for stabbing. Stab CT
into injector.
M/U CTC. Pull test to 36k - OK. Fetch dart catcher from
Nordic-2.
M/U dart catcher. Pump 3 bbls of water. Load wiper dart,
launch & check. Displace, pig & fill CT with mud. Dart bumped
on catcher @ 57.1 bbls.
PITest inner reel valve & CTC to 3500psi - OK.
PJSM for M/U sidetrack BHA.
M/U sidetrack BHA#5 with rebuilt M09 bit, 2.29 deg motor &
MWD/GR. Sribe tools & M/U coil.
RIH with BHA#5.
Log tie-in with RA tag at 10,095'. [-2 ft CTD].
Ream 60R from 10,115' to 10,135'. Then 135R, 180R, 170L,
and 150L. Holding TF OK.
Original 4-1/8" hole drilled at 80R at this depth.
Start cutting trough at 150L from 10,115-10,135'. Up ream at 1
FPM, Down ream at 0.5 FPM. Twice. 2.6 I 2.6 bpm, 3200
psi, Flag CT at 10,135.0' on first down pass. 19K Dwn Wt. Up
Wt = 31 K, Ream third time at 0.5 FPM up and 0.1 FPM down
from 10,115 -10,135', TF = 150L.
Park bit at 10,135' for 10 min. Drill down at 0.1 FPM for 3 ft.
TF = 160L, 2.5 I 2.5 BPM, 3200-3280 psi. Good drilling
indications, increasing motor work and WOB.
Increase ROP to 0.2 FPM and drill 3 ft to 10,141'.
MWD Incl. shows 83.26 deg at 10,133' vs original hole of 92
deg. MWD data and drilling parameters indicate hole is
sidetracked and lateral 2 was started at 10,133'.

K-16A L 1 & L2 CTD Sidetracks

CTO thru-tubing sidetrack operatiops are planned or K-16A. Using a mechanical whipstock a window will
first be cut in 4%" liner at 10,080'.iJhe first of two Ivishak Zone 1A laterals will then be drilled, 1460' to the
east and completed with 2}8" slotted liner. The top of this first liner will be placed 1 00' below the window to
facilitate theøOH sidetrack for the second lateral. The second lateral will then be drilled 1325' to the west
and again completed with 2}8" slotted liner. The top of this liner will be placed just below the window to
allow the retrieval of the mechanica~hipstock and the unplugging of the parent well perfs. K-16AL 1 L2 will
ultimately be a tri-Iateral producer.
Phase 1: Prep work. Planned to start September 15, 2002. /
1. With service-coil, run & set either a packer or an inflatable plug at in the 4%" liner at - 10, 120'md to
minimize fluid loss to the parent well perfs. /'
ith service coil run & set a retrievable whipstock in the 4%" liner at 10,080' to facilitate the milling of
a window in the liner
Phase 2: Mill window, Drill and Complete sidetrack: Planned for October 14, 2002.
1. Drilling coil will be used to mill the window then drill and complete the 2 x directional holes as per
attached plans. Maximum hole angle will be 95° in sidetrack L 1.
Mud Program:
. Phase 1: 2% KCI brine /
. Phase 2: Mill: viscosified 2% KCI w/ 2ppb biozan system. Drilling: 8.7 ppg Flo-Pro bio-polymer system
Disposal:
. All drilling and completion fluids and all other Class II wastes will go to Grind & Inject.
. All Class I wastes will go to Pad 3 for disposal.
Casing Program: I
The production liners will be slotted, 2}8", L-80 grade ST-L pipe. For lateral L 1 to the east it will be run from
TD, (11,540') back to -100ft below the window at 10,080'. For lateral L2 to the west it will be run from TO,
(11,500') back to just below the window. Liner top placement will facilitate the removal of the whipstock & /
plug or packer.
Well Control: .
. BOP diagram is attached. /
. Pipe rams, blind rams and the CT pack off will be pressure tested to 400 psi and to 3500 psi. /
. The annular preventer will be tested to 400 psi and 2500 psi.
Directional
. See attached directional plans. Max. planned hole angle is 95° in lateral L 1.
. Magnetic and inclination surveys will be taken every 30 ft. No gyro will be run.
Logging
. MWD & Gamma Ray will be run in the open hole section. A Memory GR/CCL log will be run with the
liner setting tool to verify placement of the liner tops upon release.
Hazards
. The concentration of HzS in K-pad well process streams is <10ppm.
. No faulting of seismic resolution will be encountered by the wellpath. The lost circulation risk is low.

Reservoir Pressure Res. pressure is estimated to be 3250 psi at -8800'tvdss (7.1 ppg emw). Max.
surface pressure with gas (0.12 psi/ft) to surface is 2194 psi.
