History
18-28 is a horizontal well targeting Zone 1A sands and was drilled in 1995. An LDL confirmed a
cretaceous leak in the 7 5/8” Csg at ~6890’md. A Tbg LDL was run 11/5/01 and identified a Tbg leak at
~6660’. The Tbg caliper indicated that the Tbg was in good shape except for one spot in joint #159. In
Jan 2002, 5914' of coiled tubing was stuck in the well while trying to pull an XXN plug from 9406’. There
is 5914’ of 1-3/4”, 0.109” walled CT with 32 ft of 2.25” Fishing BHA stuck on the XXN Plug. The well has
remained shut-in since then. The well is on the P&A list for 2019.
In February 2001, Slickline was able to set an entry guide on top of the CT stub at 3502’ slm then able to
work a 1.27” swage down to 8765’ slm and a 5 ft x 1-1/4” drive down bailer to 8750’ slm. On 6/26/19,
Slickline was able to work 1.25” swage to 3504’ slm, but unable to work deeper, found paraffin on tool
string. An attempt was made to go smaller and Slickline tried to drift with 1” tool string inside the CT
fish, only able to get to 5699’ slm. Found paraffin on tool string when back at surface.
In April 2020 SL set an over shot on the tubing stub in preparation for CT to latch and pull tension on the
CT to stretch it out so that SL could get deeper and possibly perforate/cut the CT. CT pulled 20K over
and the CT fish parted. Up weights were ~5K-lbs heavier than before so assume ~2500’ or more of CT is
free.
Objective
Pull CT fish. Continue CT fishing operations until sufficient depth can be reached for P&A. Plug and
Abandon Wellbore.

Reservoir pressure: BHP is expected to be 3535 psi @ 8800’ TVD (7.8 ppg). Maximum calculated
surface pressure with gas (0.1 psi/ft) is 2655 psi. A full column of 1% KCl (8.37 ppg) will provide a ~295
psi static overbalance.
Creataceous pressure: The PC leak @ 6890’ MD has historically required 11.3 – 12.0 ppg brine to kill.
Pressure is ~3500 psi @ ~6100’ TVD based on WHPs and fluids in the wellbore.
Fracture pressure: For the PBU main area the FG is estimated to be 0.65 psi/ft. This equates to 5720
psi @ 8800’ TVD, or 12.5 ppg EMW.
Procedure
CT/Wellwork Platform
1. MIRU Wellwork Platform with CT Unit.
2. NU and test BOPs.
3. Kill well down tubing bullheading through tubing leak and into IA PC leak (11.3 – 12.0 ppg
brine).
4. RIH and latch KB packer.
5. Release KB packer and POOH with CT fish (~2500’ of CT).
6. Cut CT into ~20’ pieces and lay down.
7. Dress off CT stub in hole.
8. Set scoop guide on CT.
9. Drift into CT with SL.
10. Cut CT depending on depth reached
11. Continue fishing CT as per above until a drift can make it to within 200’ MD of production
packer (~9160’ is target depth).
12. Punch tubing ~9160’ MD
13. RIH w/ cementing nozzle.
14. Lay 193 bbls of 15.8 ppg cement in tubing and IA from ~9160’ MD to ~4500’ MD.

Special Projects
1. Excavate and cut-off all casings and wellhead 3’ below original tundra level. Top job the 20”
annulus and all other annuli and tubing with cement as needed.
2. Install marker cap on outermost casing string (conductor, if present). Provide a minimum of 24
hours notice to AOGCC Inspector of the timing of the welding the marker plate onto the casing
stub. Photo document the condition of the tubular stub immediately after cutting the wellhead,
after topping off with cement (if necessary), and after installing the marker plate.
3. Bead weld marker cap on outermost casing string (20” Conductor) to read as follows:

vendor which slightly changes some of the TVD's. This resulted in a small

The well histories and logs have previously been filed with the Commission and
there are no changes.

Item 1: Classification of Service Wells: Gas injection, water injection, steam injection, air injection, salt
water disposal, water supply for injection, observation, injection for in-situ combustion.
Item 5: Indicate which elevation is used as reference (where not otherwise shown) for depth measurements
given in other spaces on this form and in any attachments.
Item 16 and 24: If this well is completed for separate production from more than one interval (multiple
completion), so state in item 16, and in item 24 show the producing intervals for only the interval reported
in item 27. Submit a separate form for each additional interval to be separately produced, showing the
data pertinent to such interval.

permits required by law from other governmental agencies, and does not
authorize conducting drilling operations until all other required
permitting determinations are made.
Blowout prevention equipment (BOPE) must be tested in accordance with
20 AAC 25.035. Sufficient notice (approximately 24 hours) of the BOPE

1. MIRU drilling rig. N/U diverter and function test same.

Drill 13-1/2" hole to surface casing point (10' TVD above the SV3). Run and
cement 10-3/4" surface casing. Nipple up BOPE and function test same to
5000 psi.

PU 9-7/8" BHA and RIH. Test casing to 3000 psi for 30 minutes. Drill 10' of
new hole and perform leak off test.

RIH and directional drill 9-7/8" hole to target (Zone 1). Log using MWD/LWD
tools.
7. MU and RIH with 7-5/8" casing string and cement as per well plan.

MU 6-3/4" MWD BHA and PU 3-1/2" DP. Clean out to 7-5/8" landing collar and
test casing to 3500 psi for 30 min.

Drill 10' of new hole. Displace to 8.9 ppg FIo Pro mud system. Drill horizontal
section as per directional plat.

Run 6-3/4" hole opener run to TD of 6-3/4" hole section. Circulate 6-3/4" hole
clean.

Run 5-1/2", L-80 solid liner assembly to bottom. Space the liner hanger and
packer about 150' up inside the 7-5/8" casing.

Cement the liner in place with the total cement volume based on 30% excess
across the reservoir, 150' liner lap, 200' above the liner with drillpipe in the
hole, and 80' shoe volume.
13. Set liner hanger and packer. Circulate excess cement from the wellbore.
POOH.
14. RIH with 4-3/4" Economill and 7-5/8" scraper spaced out to the top of the liner.
Clean out to landing collar. Test liner and liner lap to 3500 psi.

RIH with 3-3/8" drillpipe conveyed perforating guns and perforate the 5-1/2"
liner. POOH and lay down guns.
RIH with 4-1/2" L-80 completion with SSSV, GLMs, and 7-5/8" x 4-1/2" packer.
Displace well to clean filtered inhibited seawater. Set packer, test casing and
tubing.

The CretaceouS/Ugnu interval may be overpressured due to injection. This
interval has produced salt-water flows on 18-29 and mud weights of up to 10.0 ppg
may be required. The intermediate cement job is designed to isolate the
Cretaceous interval.
d. No potential hazardous levels of H2S are anticipated in this well.
Drilling Hazards:
Minor gas zones have been encountered around the K5 (4775'
TVDss) to HRZ interval.
The Put River is a gas bearing sand at 8075' TVDss. It is not well
developed in this area and is probably in pressure communication
with the Sadelrochit. The required mud weight should be 9.8-10.2
PPg.
· Gas zone from Top of Sag Riv..er to the current GCC.
· Structurally, this well is Iow-risk. There are minor faults in the
surrounding area, but they should not be a factor.
· The nearest deep close approach well is 18-15, which is 350' away
at 10000' MD. Deep well close approach analysis shows that all wells
fall within an acceptable risk range.
