The tests were performed to evaluate separate events of inner annulus pressure above MOASP and outer annulus pressure above MOASP. The passing tests confirm two competent barriers in the well. As the attached AOGCC Safety Valve System Test Report indicates I witnessed the testing of 21 wells and 42 components with 1 failure. The surface safety valve on well 12-12 had a slow leak when pressure tested. This valve was serviced and retested by the operator on this date. Bill Preston (lead DS operator) performed the testing today; he demonstrated good test procedures and was a pleasure to work with. A walk through inspection of the well' houses on this pad was performed during the SVS testing with no problems noted. As discussed this morning we propose setting three plugs in this well aS detailed in the attached form. This will allow us to retain the wellbore for potential future sidetrack or service well use. We would like to keep the well's 9-5/8" x 7" annulus available for the injection of liquid 'Wastes. There are no other well annulii on this pad for injection. The annulus for MPB-24 was approved for injection as part of the permit dated 25 January 1996. The annulus will be freeze protected before moving the rig. Thank you for your help in this matter. Install blowout prevention equipment consisting of 5,000 psi W.P. pipe rams, blind rams, and annular preventer. Function test BOPE to 5,000/250 psi. Test 10-3/4" casing to 3,000 psi for 30 minutes. A formation leak-off test will be performed 10' below the 10-3/4" shoe. Directionally drill 9-7/8" hole to horizontal in the Sadlerochit @ _ 12,065' MD/8,909' TVD. Run 7-5/8" 29.7# USS- 95 BTC-MOD casing string and cement with Class G cement to 1,000' MD above the casing shoe. Test casing to 3,500 psi. Drill a 6-3/4" hole 10' outside of 7-5/8" casing and test the formation to a minimum of 0.5 ppg over the mud weight to be used to drill the hole section. Displace mud system to FIo-Pro mud system. Directionally drill to horizontal and continue to TD at _+ 13,417' MD/9,023' TVD. Note - Carefully monitor torque and drag to ensure that parameters do not exceed the rating of 3 1/2" DP. Use lubricants as required. Make a hole opener run with a 7-5/8" casing scraper spaced to scrape the packer setting depth. Run 4-1/2" 12.6# L-80 slotted NSCT liner with liner hanger/packer. Liner will be set at TD and lapped _+150' inside 7-5/8" casing shoe. Set liner hanger/packer. Release from hanger/packer. Displace well from FIo-Pro mud to filtered seawater. Spot lithium hypochlorite breaker across slotted liner length Run 4-1/2" L-80 tubing with SSSV, GLM's, and 7-5/8" packer assembly. Set packer and test tubing annulus w/ 3,500 psi. Set BPV. ND BOPE. Freeze protect well to 2100' TVD through shear valve in top GLM station. Release rig. Drilling Hazards · No hydrocarbon-bearing zones expected above the Sag River formation. · Losses have been encountered drilling the Kingak, Sag River, and Sadlerochit formations on DS 12. · A minimum of 9.8 ppg mud weight will be used to drill the Cretaceous injection interval. This will allow a 100 psi tripl/ margin over the expected 9.5ppg EMW @ 4600' TVDSS. Disposal Cuttings Handling: Cuttings should be hauled to the ball mill at CC-2A. Fluid Handling: All drilling and completion fluids can be annular injected. Request to have well DS 12-36 for annular pumping. Request to AOGCC for Annular Pumping Approval for DS 12-36: 1. Approval is requested for Annular Pumping into the DS 12-36 10-3/4" x 7-5/8" casing annulus. 2. As referenced in Area Injection Order #4, there are no drinking water aquifers in the Prudhoe Bay Field Eastern Operating Area (including the Lisburne Oil Pool), as the average level of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) at the ambient water within the proposed project area is above 10,000 ppm. There are no domestic or industrial use water wells located within one mile of the project area. 3. The 10-3/4" casing shoe will be set at 3477' MD (3388' TVD) which is below the Permafrost and in shale formations in the Sagavanirtok above the Ugnu Formation. 4. The burst rating (80%) for the 10-3/4" 45.5# NT-80 casing is 4170 psig while the collapse rating (80%) of the 7-5/8" 29.7# USS-95 casing is 5760 psig. The break down pressure of the Ugnu formation is 13.5 ppg equivalent mud weight. The Maximum Allowable Surface Pressure while annular pumping is calculated according to the following equation and is 2740 psi for a 10.0 ppg fluid in this well (Assumes worst case in which 7-5/8" casing is filled with gas). MASP = 4170 psig - ((fluid density ppg - 1.9) X 0.052 X 10-3/4" Casing Shoe TVD) 5. A determination has been made that the pumping operation will not endanger the integrity of the well being drilled by the submission of data to AOGCC on 7/24/95 which demonstrates the confining layers, porosity, and permeability of the injection zone. 6.
