The corrosion inhibitor is engineered to prevent water from entering the annular space and causing external corrosion that could result in a surface casing leak to atmosphere. The attached spreadsheet represents the well name, API and PTD numbers, top of cement depth prior to filling and volumes of corrosion inhibitor used in each conductor. As per previous agreement with the AOGCC, this letter and spreadsheet serve as notification that the treatments took place and meet the requirements of form 10 -404, Report of Sundry Operations. Mclntyre Raw Gas Lift Proposal - Wells ~ and P2-57 I attended subject meeting. 2/5/97 at ARCO. Attending were Kris Fuhr, Jean Weingarten ARCO, D. Platt - DeR, B. Van Dyke ~ DNR, and myself. Jean Weingarten presented an overview of a raw gas lift system AAI is planning to install at one of the Pt. Mclntyre drillsites later this year. The system will consist of an auger separator install on two wells to separate a portion of the gas stream and divert it to the artificial lift header for usage on the pad to lift other wells on the pad. The purpose is to reduce gas load in the plant at LPC and reduce the amount of gas that has to be cycled back to the drillsite for gas lift. The net effect will be to increase production at the LPC by freeing up gas space. This will allow higher GOR oil to be produced and aid optimizing oil rate and perhaps recovery. ARCO will be sending a letter to the state agencies describing the plan and asking for acknowledgment and or approval. There is no impact on tax or royalty issues. The raw gas stream will be metered and accounted in the test and allocation system. The only disadvantage is that any liquid carried into the raw gas stream will not be allocated back to the source well. Auger separator design and operation goal is to keep carryover to less than 1% of liquid volume produced to reduce freezing and meter problems. ARCO also stated that they need to minimize liquid in the artificial lift distribution header and distribution system to prevent erosion, corrosion and freezing. The proposal is acceptable as long as carryover is kept at or below 1%. Liquid allocation to the individual source well will not suffer if carryover meets this specification. I think test meter accuracy is +/- 2% Carryover would fall within that accuracy band under normal conditions. Recommendation: Approve the proposal as it is stated. The Commission may want to have an inspector witness part of the testing of the auger arrangement or simply become familiar with the equipment and installation. cc: Blair Wondzell GeoQuest 500 W. I arrived on the pad as requested at 10:00 AM. A walk-through of the rig was completed and i found the rig to be in good condition and crew in good spirits. The BOPE test began at 11:00 AM and lasted for 3 hours. There were no BOP equipment failures. The floor methane detection head malfunctioned and was repaired. The mud flow meter was not in service and was in the process of being repaired. The B©PE test was conducted smoothly by the crew. Summary: I witnessed a BOPE test on Pool 7 drilling well P2-56. The test lasted 3 hours and there were no BOP equipment failures. Mclntyre Field PTD ¢95-162 Saturday, October 28, 1995: I witnessed the'function test of th~ new Diver[er system on Pool rig ¢7 which was preparing to drill Arco well CP2-56in the Pt. Mclntyre Field. The old 10" bifurcated line has been replaced with a new 16" single vent line that extends 100' from the well and 60' from the closest corner of the pipe shed. The line was well anchored although the supports that it rested on consisted of stacked dunnage. I suggested to Les Peak (Arco dilling foreman) that a more stable platform for the vent line would be needed. The Diver[er functioned properly with a good closure time of 68 seconds. I found no problems with the accumulator set which has been consolidated above its old location. Les Peak accompanied me on my tour of the rig and pointed out many modifications that have been made, one of which is the repositioning of the Degasser to allow for a taller fluid dead leg on the mud outlet side. This should increase the degassers ability to break gas out of solution. The area surrounding the rig was neat, clean and well organized. SUMMARY: I witnessed the function test of the Diver[er system on Nabors rig ¢28-E. NU diverter and function test same. Drill 13-1/2" hole. Run and cement 10-3/4", 45.54/, NT-80 Buttress casing to surface. Execute cement top job. Install blowout prevention equipment consisting of 5000 psi W.P. pipe rams, blind rams, and annular preventer. Maximum possible bottomhole pressure is 4350 psi at 8800' TVDss based on original reservoir pressure. Maximum possible surface pressure is 3350 psi based on a gas column to surface from 8500' TVDss and an oil column to 8800' TVDss. Function test BOPE to 5000/250 psi. Test 10-3/4" casing to 3000 psi for 30 minutes. A formation leak-off test will be performed 10' below the 10-3/4" shoe. Directionally drill a 9-7/8" hole from a target at the top of Kuparuk at 8653' TVD (X=681578 Y=5994639, 100' radius) and TD 9-7/8" hole at 8852' TVD / 89.59° inclination, logging NEU/DEN/RES/GR while drilling. Run a 7-5/8", 29.74/, NT-95 NSCC casing string to within 10' of 9-7/8" TD and cement with Class G cement around the 7-5/8" shoe. The annulus will be freeze protected with dead crude oil. Directionally drill approximately 1350' of 6-3/4" horizontal hole section with Anadrill ARC-5 MWD:GR/RES (real time). Run 4-1/2", L-80 slotted liner with liner hanger and liner top packer from TD to 150' inside 7-5/8" casing shoe. Set hanger and packer. Change over to 9.5 ppg NaC1 completion fluid. Run 4-1/2", 12.64/, L-80 MBT tubing with 7-5/8" x 4-1/2" production packer. Land the tubing on the tubing hanger and set the packer. Test the tubing annlus to 3500 psi. A subsurface safety valve with dual control lines will be placed 100' below base of permafrost. Install Christmas tree and test to 5000 psi. Prod/Injection logs have not been run in offsets. Faults: Fieldwide "terrace fault" will be penetrated by 8 1/2" hole @ +- 8480" SS, approx. 120' TVD above Top Kupamk. Throw <= 10'. May see gas-cut mud from gas cap gas at fault. · Structure: No anticipated anomalies. Geologic Summary Well P2-56 is planned as a 1350' horizontal producer and is located in the south-central segment of the Pt. Mclntyre field, in the oil-rAm area of the "terrace" below the gas cap. The purpose of the well is to drain "rim" oil in the "terrace" that is located well below the gas cap. The location of the horizontal target is approximately 1100'-2500' east of P2-57 (producer). Top Kupamk in P2-56 is prognosed at -8601' SS and is located approximately 800' northeast of P2-57. Gross Kupamk thickness -- measured vertically at the horizontal target point -- is prognosed to be 230' TVD, with gross oil estimated at 206' TVD. The horizontal wellbore will be placed within the lowest reservoir zone -- Zone LB 1, where the zone is expected to thin along the wellbore from 52' TVD at the start to 43' TVD at TD. The depth of the horizontal wellbore is planned for -8800' to -8810' SS, or about 218' TVD below the fieldwide GCC (-8582' SS) and 260' TVD above the fieldwide OWC (-9069' SS). The horizontal portion of the well will be topset with 7 5/8" intermediate casing and completed with a 4 1/2" slotted liner. Base Kupamk (Top Miluveach) is prognosed at-9206'. Zones UC4-UC2, UB2, UA4-UA2, LC4 and LC1-LB4 are expected to be absent due to truncation or non- deposition. The terrace fault is a large down-to-the-north normal fault with 150' - 200' of throw at the base of the Kuparuk Formation and 10' - 30' of throw at the top of the Kuparuk Formation in this vicinity. The horizontal section of P2-56 is positioned south and sub-parallel to the terrace fault. At the depth of the LB 1 horizontal target horizon, there is approximately 600' of lateral standoff distance from the terrace fault at the western end of the horizontal section, and 400' of lateral standoff at the eastern TD end. It is important for the horizontal borehole section to remain south of this fault to avoid drilling problems and fluid/gas production problems. The terrace fault has a north-south uncertainty range of +-200'. The prognosed horizontal well location minimizes risk associated with the proximity of the terrace fault to the north and the east-west trending fault to the south (the D9N fault). The D9N fault is a significant down-to-the-north normal fault with 75' - 100' of throw at the base of the Kuparuk Formation. The horizontal section of P2-56 is positioned north of and sub- parallel to the DgN fault. There is approximately 600' - 300' of lateral standoff from the DgN base Kuparuk fault and the planned position of the horizontal section. If the borehole crosses the D9N fault to the south it will encounter non-reservoir Miluveach rock. The D9N fault has a north-south uncertainty range of +-200'. Thinning of the formation towards the east poses a risk at the eastern end of the horizontal section.
