Gonr~iR~iAn AnGhora~e ,~ ~~ ' ~ ~ ' ~ ~ ~~ ~ Enclosed please find multiple copies of a spreadsheet with a list of wells from GPB Z- Pad that were treated with corrosion inhibitor in the surface casing by conductor annulus. The corrosion inhibitor is engineered to prevent water from entering the annular space and causing external corrosion that could result in a surface casing leak to atmosphere. The attached spreadsheet represents the well name, API and PTD numbers, top of cement depth prior to filling and volumes of corrosion inhibitor used in each conductor. As per previous agreement with the AOGCC, this letter and spreadsheet serve as notification that the treatments took place and meet the requirements of form 10-404, Report of Sundry Operations. Merv Liddelow performed the SVS tests today. The test results (one SSV Failure) are noted on the accompanied SVS test spreadsheet. All well houses were in "OK" condition. This was the, first eXperience ! have had with the new SV control system on Z pad and found it to operate quite well. The temperatures today were somewhat mild (+15) and it remains.to: be seen.how:they will hold up during next winter's cold seasoni Wells Z~5:and 'z-shad slow cloSing SSV's (+ 2 minutes), Uerv called the Automation crew and these were being worked on before I left the pad. The pad is being used as a staging area for some pipeline fabrication and has some equipment and material stored on it. This was kept for the most part neat and orderly. I. Supervisor "-- I -- Jeff Jones, SUBJECT: Petroleum Inspector Safety Valve Tests Prudhoe Bay Unit Z Pad Friday, JanUa~_ 19. 200_1.: I traveled to BPX's Z Pad in the Prudhoe Bay Field and witnessed surface safety valve system testing. Merv Liddelow was the BPX representative in charge of testing. As the attached AOGCC Safety. Val~e System Test Report indicates I witnessed the testing of 21 Wells and 43 components with 6 failures. The pilot on well Z-03 failed to trip and the pilot on well Z-08 was frozen and once thawed it passed a retest but the SSV on this well had an unacceptable closure time (12-min.). The SSV on well Z-18 also had an unacceptable closure time (15-min.) and the SSV's on wells Z-22B and Z-24 failed to pressure test.: The high failure rate on Z Pad requires it be placed on a 90- day test interval. Mr. Liddlow indicated to me today that all failures have been repaired except the slow SSV closure of wells Z-08A and Z-18. The hydraulic lines on these wells need to be flushed and he has arranged for the maintenance crew to perform the work. Weilhouse inspections were conducted on the 21 wells tested with no exceptions noted. Sum.rna.ry': i witnessed SVS testing at BPX's PBU Z Pad. 21 wells, 43 components, 6 failures. 13.9% failure rate. 21 wellhouse inspections conducted. Managed to get one clean truck from Endicott and a small Biozan truck. Rig in hole with wing closed and well pressured up rapidly to 750 psig. Opened wing and rig in hole to 11,500' without pumping and frequent weight checks. Saw no obstructions in tubing. Staged a 50 bbl Biozan pill and jetted jewelry. Operational problems consisting of fire in blender aborted the actual frac until today. Rigged up and screened out with 4 ppg on perfs. Gel quality appeared good though x/I time of 6 minutes was short of ½ pipe time target. During the job the net pressure plot went negative. And continued to decrease even after changing the stress calibration. The possibility exists that the cibp may have failed during the job and was pushed down hole. Other than the abnormal net pressure behavior the only other evidence of this is in the clean out where we encountered a bridge at the bottom of the perfs. Sand was still being lifted from 40' below the perf interval in a 86 degree deviated wellbore. Fluids Pumped BBLS. The most recent H2S level on this well was measured at 6 ppm. The maximum H2S level recorded on this well was 8 ppm. This is considered a Iow H2S well, but proper precautions will be taken as needed. d. Drilling Hazards: · This well is planned to avoid all mapped faults. However, if a fault is crossed in Sag River or Sadlerochit, history indicates faults are highly conductive. By kicking off in Sag River, avoiding any possible problems drilling the Kingak Shales. Top of Sag River has a possible hard streak - may take time to kickoff in upper Sag River Due to higher bottom hole temperatures, 4-1/2" liner cement will contain 35% silica flour to help maintain compressive strength of cement. Z-22B Permit Information Page 2 Z-22B Operations Summary Pre-Riq Operations 1. Dummy the GLMs and pull the 4-1/2" SSSV. Valve is set at 2219' MD. Test the 9-5/8" mandrel packoff to 5000 psi. 2. Notify an AOGCC representative prior to commencing plug-back operations. RU CT unit. RIH with coiled tubing to 13656' MD -last official tag of PBTD (bottom perforation at 13620' MD). Lay a cement plug from 13656' to 13400' MD. This will leave cement about 100' above the top perforation (top perforation at 13500' MD). Planned kickoff depth for sidetrack is 13270' MD and bottom of 50' window is at 13315' MD. NOTE: Top of cement must be at 13400' MD to comply with State regulations on cement being 100' MD above perforations. However, the top of cement can be as high as 13365' MD - this will allow for 50' MD between the bottom of the section window at 13315' MD and the top of the cement plug at 13365' MD. 3. With an AOGCC representative on location to witness the operation, R/U E-line and tag the top of the cement to verify cement top is between 13365' - 13400' MD. NOTE: Tag of top of cement plug is important due to proposed sidetrack window being from 13265' - 13315' MD. The window and kickoff point are just below the Top Sag River at 13260' MD. 4. RIH and cut the 4-1/2" 13Cr-80 tubing with a chemical cutter in the middle of the first joint of tubing above the 7" packer at approximately 13128' MD. 5. Displace the tubing and wellbore to 8.5 ppg seawater. 6. Freeze protect top 2200' MD with diesel. 7. Bleed tubing and annuli pressures to zero. 8. Set BPV in the tubing hanger and test from below to 1000 psi. Secure well. 9. Remove the well house and flowlines. If necessary, level the pad and dig out the cellar. Rig Operations 1. MIRU drilling rig. Pull BPV. Circulate out freeze protection from inner and outer annuli and recover for future use. Test 9-5/8" mandrel packoff to 5000 psi. If pack-off fails, change out packoff in Step 5 prior to cutting the section. Install a -I-VVC and test from below to 1000 psi. N/D the production tree. N/U BOP. Test BOP to 250/5000 psi against TWC. Test annular preventer to 250/2500 psi. Remove -I-WC. Send adapter flange and tree to DSM for inspection and repair. Pull and lay down the 4-1/2" tubing. (Tubing should be chemical cut at 13128' MD. Check the location and exact depth of the cut on production handover form) Inspect for NORM. Label tubing as it is laid down with well name and joint number. Install thread protectors on pipe which upon visual inspection appears to be re-usable. If tubing is salvageable, send . , . Z-22B Permit Information Page 3 tubing to Tuboscpoe for inspection. If 9-5/8" mandrel packoff did not test in Step 2, pull and replace packoff through the BOP stack. RIH with overshot assembly to fish the tubing stub and anchor. Establish all weights prior to engaging fish. Engage fish with overshot and attempt to release anchor latch by rotating 15 turns to the right at the packer. Circulate bottoms up and POOH. . RIH with 6" packer mill to top of Baker SABL-3 packer at +_13030' MD. Establish all weights prior to milling packer. After packer drops, circulate bottoms up to remove any trapped gas. Push packer to bottom at 13400' MD (top of cement plug). POOH. 8. RIH with spear to fish packer. Engage packer and POOH with packer assembly and tailpipe 9. Shut-in well and test casing to 3500 psi for 30 minutes to ensure casing integrity. 10. P/U 7" section mill on 5"x 3-1/2" drill pipe. RIH to 13400'. Minimize the amount of 3-1/2" drill pipe spaced out in the 9-5/8" casing. Displace well to milling fluid. Spot 18 ppg mud pill from 13400' (PBTD) to the base of the section at 13315' MD. 11. Cut window from 13265' to 13315'. Keep flowrate between 600 - 700 gpm while milling casing. POOH after ensuring the hole is clean and free of metal cuttings. 12. RIH open ended to 13365' MD and spot a kick-off plug from 50' below the base of the section to ~200' above the top of the section (13065' MD). Pull 12 stands, shut in and perform hesitation squeeze. Attempt to achieve a 1000-2000 psi squeeze but do not displace TOC below 100' above section top. POOH and function rams to clear cavities and test BOP's. 13. RIH with 6" rotary assembly on 3-1/2" drillpipe stinger. Dress the cement to 5' below the section top. Circulate hole clean. POOH. 14. RIH with 6" kickoff assembly (MWD/GR) with a 1.75° motor.
