X-19B & X-19B/L1 Wellsite Summary API #: 50-029-20676-02 for Zone 4 lateral; 50-029-20676-60 for Shublik lateral Well Type: multi-lateral well Date: September, 1996 Overview and Objectives: X-19 was originally completed as a high volume Zone 4 well. When the well watered out the X-19A sidetrack was drilled. This sidetrack well also watered out after a few years despite a workover. X-19B and X-19B Ll are designed as multiple legs off the original X-19 wellbore. First a pilot hole was drilled to define the HOT and oil-water contacts in Zone 4. The X-19B lateral targets Zone 4 oil above the HOT, while X-19B L 1 targets oil in the fractured Shublik reservoir. This is the first time that a completion in the Shublik has been attempted. Consequently, additional emphasis was place on formation evaluation of the Shublik including the use of a team of Sperry mudloggers, and Schlumberger wireline logs inclusive of FMS. Operational Summary: The X-19B is a lateral leg off the the X-19B PB pilot hole. This lateral was drilled from the kickout point at 11428' MD to a total depth of 14085' MD (2657') in Zone 4 of the Sadlerochit Formation. Samples and logs show good to excellent oil-saturated fine-grained sandstone through the lateral, with the exception of the end of the lateral where the trajectory was steered downward to intersect and define the HOT and water contacts. The X-19B Ll horizontal lateral was drilled following the Zone 4 completion. KOP was 11352' MD in the Shublik A interval. The well was drilled to TD of 13138' MD, all within the targetted Shublik. This leg of the well is a geologic success in that it encountered good shows associated with a fractured reservoir. The economic viability of the Shublik reservoir is still very much a concern. Problems encountered during the drilling of the Shublik lateral include hydrocarbon show intervals that resulted in gas-cut mud that required extended periods of circulation to break out the gas from the mud, and much experimentation with mud weights to try to lessen the influx of gas while avoiding lost circulation or formation damage. • • The original plan for the X-19B L 1 lateral was to drill to a TD of 13118'. Due to the encouraging shows in the Shublik, and the well developed open fractures (as indicated in the FMS log), BP management and partners supported the decision to extend the lateral approximately 1000' to the south. Unfortunately, tight borehole conditions encountered (12690-780') in the shaly basal Shublik A, coupled with a failed MWD tool led to the abandonment of this plan. Geologic Summary: X-19B was drilled from the KOP to TD within Zone 4 (undivided). The reservoir is dominantly composed of fine to very fine-grained well-sorted quartzose sandstone that has minor silica cement. Reservoir quality is good to excellent throughout the lateral, with only scattered zones of moderate to pervasive silica cement. Sandstone has light brown oil stain, dull fluorescence, yellow white milky white flash cut fluorescence, and a straw to amber cut. The HOT is poorly manifested in samples. X-19B L1 kicked out in the Shublik A formation, and remained in the Shublik B throughout the lateral (see table following page). The wellbore stratigraphically transected the targetted Shublik B several times, encountering numerous shows. Note that the samples cut from throughout the Shublik, with mudlog shows correlated to zones with prominent fractures. There is a definite relationship between stratigraphy, fracture density (as defined by FMS logs), and hydrocarbon shows. The Shublik B interval can be subdivided into an upper radioactive zone ("upper Shublik B", etc.), a middle less radioactive zone, and a lower hot radioactive zone. The highest fracture density is in the middle Shublik B, a zone that is siltier than the other zones. Most of the significant hydrocarbon shows (as defined on mudlogs) are associated with this interval, though not all. Consequently, in future wells targetting the Shublik fractured reservoir, the B interval should be the main focus of the laterals. • • Stratigraphic markers in X-19B L1 (from MWD gamma ray) include: Stratigraphic Mkrs MD TVD TVDss top Shublik A NL NL NL top Shublik B 11396 8943 8875 top Shublik C 11442 8960 8892 invert 11525 base lower Shublik B 11642 8961 8893 base middle Shublik B 11768 8946 8878 base upper Shublik B 11819 8946 8878 apex of wellbore 11910 top middle Shublik B 12050 8948 8880 top lower Shublik B 12109 8949 8881 invert 12250 base middle Shublik B 12412 8951 8883 base upper Shublik B 12552 8948 8880 base Shublik A 12650 8943 8875 apex of wellbore 12765 top upper Shublik B 12902 8949 8881 top middle Shublik B 13057 8961 8893 Contractor Review: Sperry Sun MWD: Excellent service and log quality. There were several tool failures over the course over the 3 weeks of drilling, but this seemed par for the course. Sperry Sun mudloggers: John Patton and Tom Mansfield are some of the best in the business. They are good on geologic and show descriptions, but more importantly keep on top of pit volumes and gas in the mud for the drilling folks. John in particular is talented in his interpretations. • Sperry Sun sample catchers: These characters provided good clean, well lagged samples, plus an occasional joke. No complaints. Schlumberger Wireline: Good friendly competent and timely service. There were serveral small problems. First, a short in the logging tool head had to be fixed. Second, the wet connect failed on the way down hole first run, requiring a trip out. This short was resolved. The only otherproblem was failure of the sonic and SP tools during the second logging run. It was decided to do without these logs, not considered imperative for this well. • • ig(0- 131 Guhl, Meredith D (DOA) 1-2(2g00 From: Davies, Stephen F (DOA) Sent: Wednesday, March 30, 2016 2:46 PM To: Guhl, Meredith D (DOA) Subject: FW: PBU X-19BL1 (PTD 196-131) - Question about Production Test Data Attachments: X19B PBU-PFO.XLS;X-19B Trico Data 10-96.XLS; BLACKOIL WELL X-19B.XLS Meredith, Please place a copy of Joe's email and the attached spreadsheets in the well history file and in the electronic files for this well. X-19B was drilled as a rotary sidetrack in 1996. Two laterals were drilled. One accessed the Ivishak Z4B and the other was a test lateral drilled in the Shublik. The Z4B lateral was completed with 4-1/2" liner cemented and perforated and the Shublik lateral was completed with 4-1/2" slotted liner. 2. The stand-alone Shublik test program included a pressure Fall-Off, Pressure Build-Up,Trico Test &Samples was performed after the two lateral were drilled. Also, a compilation from several documents indicate that: 1. Shublik is completed w/slotted liner sitting in hole (no WL or CT access). Ran initial PBU/PFO test w/memory gauges. Well came on strong. Suspected plug was leaking. Ran memory spinner above plug. Data quality was questionable. Showed plug was probably leaking, but could not confirm if Shublik was contributing. Pulled plug that was isolating Z4 and POP'd well. • 2. Attempted to test the Shublik lateral by isolating the Z4 completion (placed a plug in the top of the Z4 completion). A production profile run in December 1996 shortly after the well was completed showed that the Shublik lateral was not contributing to production. Then, I found the data in the attached files and I re-analyzed having similarly conclusion regarding no evidence of Shublik contribution in the data acquired. 1. From the Pressure fall-off, the pressure behavior is very typical of the Ivishak pressure regime. (X19B PBU- PFO.XLS) 2. From the Production test probably the initial rates indicate more Ivishak production rates for that period. (X- 19B Trico Data 10-96.XLS) 3. And finally from the fluid sample the API and composition looks very typical to the Ivishak oil. (BLACKOIL WELL X-19B.XLS) I hope this helps and happy to discuss if additional questions. I'm interested in production test information from that lateral, but I can't find any in the well record. Could you ask the reservoir engineer for the X-Pad if that X-19B lateral was tested? Or was it simply put on commingled production with the parent X-19B wellbore? If X-19BL1 or X-19B were tested, could BP please provide that information? Thanks for your help! Auaust 16,1996: I traveled this date to BPX's PBU well X-19B / L1 being redrilled by Nabors rig 18 E and witnessed the initial BOPE test. As the attached AOGCC BOPE Test Report shows there were 6 failures. The ram seals in the blind rams and the top pipe rams leaked - the door seal leaked on the bottom pipe rams - and a valve downstream of the chokes leaked. All of these items were repaired before I departed the location with the exception of the choke manifold valve. I will be notified when the valve is repaired and tested. This was the first test of the stack after being inspected by DSR company. ~r~'[[~'~ ~r~c~ F,~n.~ C.~. -h~.h-,,~ .~'zrrTc~, The location was clean and all extra equipment was stored properly. X-19B / X-19BL1 Permit Information Page 3 X-19B / X-19B L1 Operations Summary Pre-Rig Operations 1. Pull the 4-1/2" SSSV. Valve is set at 2206' MD. Test the 9-5/8" mandrel packoff to 5000 psi. 2. Notify an AOGCC representative prior to commencing plug-back operations. R/U cement unit & establish an injection rate. Bullhead and squeeze perforations at 9782' - 10012' MD Displace to leave the top of cement in 7" liner no lower than 9682' MD. Pressure test as per AOGCC requirements. NOTE: Top of cement must be to at least 9682' MD to comply with State regulations on cement being 100' MD above perforations. 3. With an AOGCC representative on location to witness the operation, R/U slickline and tag the top of the cement to verify cement top is at least at 9682' MD. 4. RIH and cut the 4-1/2" 13Cr-80 tubing with a jet cutter in the middle of a full joint of ~bing at approximately 7650' MD. NOTE: This will place the tubing cut approximately 205' MD below the bottom of the section window cut in the 9-5/8" casing. Displace the tubing and wellbore to 8.5 ppg seawater. Freeze protect top 2200' MD with diesel. Bleed tubing and annuli pressures to zero. Set BPV in the tubing hanger and test from below to 1000 psi. Secure well. Remove the well house and flowlines. If necessary, level the pad and dig out the cellar. Rig Operations MIRU drilling rig. Pull BPV. Cimulate out freeze protection from inner and outer annuli and recover for future use. Test 9-5/8" mandrel packoff to 5000 psi. If pack-off fails, change out packoff in Step 5 prior to cutting the section. Install a TWC and test from below to 1000 psi. N/D the production tree. N/U BOP. Test BOP to 250/5000 psi against TWC. Test annular preventer to 250/2500 psi. Remove TWC. Send adapter flange and tree to DSM for inspection and repair. Pull and lay down the 4-1/2" tubing. (Tubing should be jet cut at 7650' MD. Check the location and exact depth of the cut on production handover form) Inspect for NORM. If 9-5/8" mandrel packoff did not test in Step 2, pull and replace packoff through the BOP stack. RIH with bridge plug. Set bridge plug at approximately 7645' MD. This will place the bridge plug 200' below the base of the section window at 8294'. Shut in well and test casing to 3500 psi for 30 minutes to ensure casing integrity. . 6. 7. 8. 9. . . . . .
