Move in rig and spot over well. Accept rig at 2330 Hr. 1/22/97. Nipple up BOP. Set divert tank, cuttings
box, Sperry-Sun trailer, mud engineer trailer. Run lines. Prep to test BOP.

Held Safety meeting before testing BOPs, choke and kill valves. State inspector, Doug Amos witnessed
test. M/U milling BHA. RIH with Mill and string reamer. Went thru SSSV with no WT loss. RIH to XN
nipple. TIH, tagged top of whipstock. Correct depth to 13872'. Work past top of whipstock and begin milling
at 13879'. Repeated stalls, unable to make headway. POOH. Pick up 2 Jts. 2 3/8" PH-6 tubing to counteract
bend in coiled tubing. TIH.

RIH with Milling BHA with 2 Jts of Tubing to reduce CT memory at mill. Tag top of Whipstock and correct
depth to 13,872 ft. Mill from 13878.6- 13881.3 ft with 17 stalls. Mill to 13880', work string reamer thru
window. POOH, PU directional assembly. Correct depth, begin drilling. Displace w/FIo-Pro mud while
drilling.

Drilling build section with 3.0 deg bent motor from 13,900 - 13,990 ft. POOH for Horiz. Drilling BHA.. M/U
0.70 deg bent Tandem motor with new Sperry BHA. RIH. Repair reel shaft shim. RIH. Test Sperry
Directional / GR tools. RIH. GR Log for correlation. Begin drilling. Sperry tools not working correctly.
POOH, change out Sperry probe. TIH

RIH with horiz. Drilling BHA. Bolt on Upper skate broke on injector head. Set slips and replaced bolt. Tied-
in with GR at RA tag at 13,881 ft. RIH and drilled from 14033 - 14320. Stuck pipe on shod trip. Spot oil, no
progress. Work pipe, pulled free at 78,000#. Wash, ream, and condition hole back to original TD. Drill to
14425'.

Drilled Horizontal hole from 14,425 - 14,590 ft. Made short trip back to window. Clean hole. Tied-in with
GR at RA marker. RIH and drilled from 14,590 - 14,868, Unable to get bit to drill. POOH for bit

M/U BHA #5 with new Drilex motor and RR bit. RIH. Tied-in with GR at RA marker. RIH to TD and drill
from 14,871 - 14,916 ft. Stuck BHA. Worked CT free. Shod trip to 14,600 ft. RIH. Drilled from 14,916 -
15022'. Drilling shale at 97 deg and making slow progress trying to lay over toolface. Backream to window.
Tie-in, add 19'. RIH. Drill to final TD of 15050'. Backream while circ and condition mud. POOH for liner.
LD BHA. RU liner running tools.

Run 2 7~8" TIW taper float shoe, float jt and packoff bushing. Run 38 jts of 2 7/8", FL4S Slotted liner. M/U
Baker GS Sleeve. Run TIW stinger with 34 jts 1.25" CS Hydril workstring. M/U Baker CTLRT, Hyd Discon,
Swivel and CTC. Deploy slotted liner with CT. Sat down wt at window 4 times. RIH thru window on fifth try
with no wt loss. RIH with liner to TD of 15,050 ft BKB. [15,054 ft CTD] Clean bottom. Pick up and sat
down twice at same depth. Drop 0.625" ball and displace with Flopro. Ball on seat at 53.4 BBLS. Press up
and release Baker CTLRT, inc press and shear ball seat. POOH leaving top of liner at 13,900 ft BKB.
POOH thru window with no overpull. Recover Flopro at 13,700 ft BKB. POOH. Stand back 17 STDs of .,:,,
CSH workstring. LD stinger. RIH w/BHA #7 to recover whipstock. Lost wt at 13902' CTD. tt~q~iP[~
latch whipstock w/o success. POOH to change BHA. ~'% % *',:' ~'~'

POOH to change BHA #6. Modify overshot and add Orientor to position mule shoe. RIH with fishing BHA
#7. Set down at 13,902 ft CTD. Same as last run. No fish. Orient 5 times [100 deg]. Sat down at same
depth with some wt loss at 13,889 ft. POOH 50 ft. Orient 4 times [80 deg]. RIH and sat down at 13,889 ft
with 6000 lbs. Pull free with 12000 lbs overpull. POOH. Did not recover fish. Dogs had pulled free of
fishing neck, shown by damage to opposing dogs inside overshot. M/U muleshoe overshot with spiral
grapple sized for 2 5/8". RIH with fishing BHA. #8. Lost wt at 13890'. Attempt to engage whipstock using
orienter w/o success-not even a friction bite. POOH to check tools. At 9100' return rate increased with gas
in returns. SI at choke and WHP increased to 50 psi in 10 min. RIH while circ thru choke. Park below
turbing tail and circ out gas (sli crude in returns). Resume POOH. At surface, check well for flow. Stand
back BHA.

Change out whipstock fishing tool. M/U short cut lip overshot with 2.625" basket grapple. RIH w/BHA #9..
Set down at 13,889 FT BKB on fishing neck. Set down full wt and pulled 12,000# over and pulled free. Sat
down several more times with 1-2000# overpull. POOH. No fish. Basket grapple had went 5.0" over fish
and sheared outer 1/8" off neck. RIH with 2.50" basket grapple-BHA #10. Sat down at 13,889 ft BKB with
full wt at 60 FPM. Pick up with 64,000 lbs. And pulled free. Pull up with 1,000# additional wt. All
indications are that whipstock shear pins did shear and we have fish. Spot 100 bbls clean seawater at
whipstock. POOH. Standback BHA. Did not recover whipstock. Left grapple in hole probably attached to
whipstock FN. Fin LD BHA. RIH wi nozzle to 1500'. FP CT and well bore to surface while POOH. Secure
tree. Blowdown lines, clean pits. Prep to move. Release rig to C-22 @ 0530 hrs 2/1/97. Total time on well

board. The drilling crew was very knowledgeable about our test procedure
resulting in a smooth test.
As the attached AOGCC BOPE Test report indicates there were no failures, I
found all equipment in compliance with AOCGG regulations.
SUMMARY: I witnessed the successful BOPE test at BPX PBU F-43 L1 well on
Nordic Calista Services Rig No. 1.

other governmental agencies, and does not authorize conducting drilling operations until all other
required permitting determinations arc made. The permit is for a new wellbore segment of existing
well F-43, Permit No. 91-75. API 029-22179-00. Production should continue to be reported as a
function of the original API number stated above.
Blowout prevention equipment (BOPE) must be tested in accordance ,~vith 20 AAC 25.035.

Summary of Operations:
Well F-43 is being sidetracked to provide improved drainage from the Sag River formation..
This sidetrack will be conducted in two phases.
Phase 1: Prep well and set retrievable whipstock: Planned for Dec. 30, 1996.
- The existing Ivishak perforations will be covered with carbolite and protected with high LSRV
FIoPro.
- A retrievable whipstock will be set on ELine at approximately 13,892' MD.
- Utilizing a conventional coil tubing unit, a window will be cut in the 7" liner and 10 ft of formation
will be ddlled.
Phase 2- Drill & Complete Sidetrack: Planned for Jan. 4, 1997.
- Directional drilling coil tubing equipment will be dgged up and utilized to drill the directional hole as
per attached plan to planned TD of 15,200' MD (8,804' TVDss).
Mud Program:
Phase 1' Filtered seawater, Carbolite, FIoPro
Phase 2: FIo-Pro (8.8 - 8.9 ppg)
Casing Program'
- 2 7/8", 6.16#, L-80, FL-4S slotted liner will be run from TD to approx. 13,900' MD and termintaed
outside the window. The slotted liner will not be tied into the existing liner.
Well Control: - BOP diagram for ddlling and completion is attached.
- Pipe rams, blind rams and the CT pack off will be pressure tested to 400 psi and to 4000 psi.
- The annular preventer will be tested to 400 psi and 2000 psi.

Re: Well F-43L1
Well F-43 is scheduled for a through tubing sidetrack to be drilled with
coiled tubing. The plan calls for a retrievable whipstock to be set in the
7" liner to permit drilling of a lateral into the Sag River formation. The
open hole will be completed with a 2 7/8" slotted liner that will terminate
just outside the window. The whipstock will then be pulled to provide
access to lower Ivishak perforations.
Existing perforations will not be squeezed. Ivishak perforations will be
protected with carbolite and elevated LSRV FIoPro prior to setting the
retrievable whipstock. The window will be milled through existing Sag
R. perforations. The retrievable whipstock is not a sealing device and
will permit production from below in the event that the whipstock
cannot be retrieved.
This procedure is described in the attached Form 401.
