Subject: Corrosion Inhibitor Treatments of GPB R-Pad
Dear Mr. Maunder,
Anch~r~~~
1G~ ~ ~,3 C~
1 -{
--~ f2' ~.~~
Enclosed please find multiple copies of a spreadsheet with a list of wells from GPB R-
Pad that were treated with corrosion inhibitor in the surface casing by conductor
annulus. The corrosion inhibitor is engineered to prevent water from entering the
annular space and causing external corrosion that could result in a surface casing leak
to atmosphere. The attached spreadsheet represents the well name, API and PTD
numbers, top of cement depth prior to filling and volumes of corrosion inhibitor used in
each conductor.
As per previous agreement with the AOGCC, this letter and spreadsheet serve as
notification that the treatments took place and meet the requirements of form 10-404,
Report of Sundry Operations.
If you require any additional information, please contact me or my alternate, Torin
Roschinger, at 659-5102.
Sincerely,
Anna Dube, P.E.

Enclosed please find a spreadsheet with a list of wells from R-Pad that were treated
with corrosion inhibitor in the surface casing by conductor annulus. The corrosion
inhibitor is engineered to prevent water from entering the annular space and causing
external corrosion that could result in a surface casing leak to atmosphere. The
attached spreadsheet represents the well name, top of cement depth prior to filling and
volumes of corrosion inhibitor used in each conductor.
~~
As per previous agreement with the AOGCC, this letter and spreadsheet serve as
notification that the treatments took place and meet the requirements of form 10-404,
Report of Sundry Operations.
If you require any additional information, please contact me or my alternate, Anna Dube,
at 659-5102.
Sincerely,
~

------------------------------
We have recently completed a mid year review of MIT data from our inspection
database to see how many injection wells may be in question regarding MIT
timing. Results of our review relating to BP-operated fields are as follows:
MITs are past due for the following wells (injecting as of 7/31/2006)
1) PBU 04-13¡ due 1/8/2006
2) PBU S-101¡ due 2/25/2006
3) PBU NK-13¡ due 5/4/2006
4) PBU X-36¡ due 5/20/2006
5) PBU R-25A¡ due 7/24/2006
The following shut in wells are past their due date for MIT
1) MPU H-06¡ due 2/28/2006 (SI since 7/2002)
2) PBU WG1-01¡ due 4/22/2006 (S1 since 12/12/2005)
3) MPU F-41¡ due 5/14/2006 (S1 since 5/2005)
4) PBU 8-31A¡ due 6/1/2006 (SI since 12/2004)
5) PBU P1-01¡ due 6/4/2006 (SI since 6/2006 for workover)
6) PBU Pl-25¡ due 7/2/2006 (S1 since 6/2006)
7) PBU GC-02C¡ due 7/22/2006 (SI since 4/2006)
A M1T for each well injecting on the list should be conducted as soon as
practical¡ please notify the Commission for an opportunity to witness.
Regarding 81 injectors, the Commission suggests deferring testing (at least

.
the Commission's witnessed test) until injection is recommenced and well
conditions have stabilized.
There's also two wells with MITs that have apparently been done (not
witnessed) that we would like to have for our database:
1) PBU 03-10¡ MIT 9/30/200S (CMIT IAxOA)
2) PBU 04-08¡ MITs (IA and OA) done per monthly injector rpt¡ date unknown
As with all operating companies, the Commission is willing to work with you
to take advantage of operating efficiencies in scheduling MITs (perform
multiple MITs per pad¡ perform tests during the more temperate months¡
etc.). Feel free to call if you have any questions, and thank you in advance
for your prompt attention to those MITs that are past due.

Purpose: Isolate top set of perforations and establish injectivity to provide a new pattern
support to surrounding producers.
Historv: This well was drilled in 1998 and has 3 major sets of perforations. From a
temperature survey run on 06/04/00, injection is established only in the middle set of perfs with
communication benefiting only 2 producers. This well has been used as a pigging well (1/1/2006) /
in addition to being a dewatering well. Last SBG treatment was 4/15/06.
Procedure:
1. PuIlISSSV, drift
2. Using coil, set a WRP or Halliburton BB Bridgeplug at 11800' MD. There is 458' from
bottom of top set of perfs and the top of the second set of perfs. Placement of plug will be /
approximately 355' below top set of perfs (100' above middle set of perfs).
3. Pump down backside and establish a 3.3 bpm injectivity (4.2 bpm will be max. injectivity)
4. Pending step 3, if injectivity is not established, pump 10 bbls of 90:10 DAD and establish

Test's Details
I traveled to BPXs R Pad and witnessed the 4-year MIT on wells R-05A, R-20A, R-22 and R-25A. The pretest tubing
and casing pressures were observed and found to be stable. The standard annulus pressure test was then performed with
all 4 wells demonstrating good mechanical integrity.

Dear Mr. Smith:
Enclosed is the approved application for permit to redrill the above referenced ,,,,,ell.
The permit to redrill does not exempt you from obtaining additional permits required by laxv from
other governmental agencies, and does not authorize conducting drilling operations until all other
required permitting determinations are made.
The blowout prevention equipment (BOPE) must be tested in accordance xvith 20 AAC 25.035;
and the mechanical integrity, (MI) of the injection wells must be demonstrated under 20 AAC
25.412 and 20 25.030(g)(3). Sufficient notice (approximately 24 hours) of the MI test before
operation, and of the BOPE test pertbrmed before drilling below the surface casing shoe, must be
given so that a representative of the Commission ma5, witness the tests. Notice may be given by
contacting the Commission petroleum field inspector on the North Slope pager at 659-3607.

Hazards
This is a TTRD well, and since the annular volume of the well is small, a close watch must be
kept on trip volumes, and tripping speeds to avoid surging and swabbing of the well.
The main production target for this well is the Sag River, although the Ivishak will be penetrated
briefly. For this reason, known hazards for the Ivishak are also listed below.
Sag River
The Sag River can sometimes have very low reservoir pressure in this area (as low as 6. lppg or
2700-2900psi). Despite this, the pad data sheet indicates that only one well (R-36i) has
experienced major lost circulation in this production interval, most other drilling wells
experiencing only minor losses. The area does have some faults which, if present, are likely to be
conductive, and this well does cross to 10-20' faults while in the target polygon, hence losses
should be expected. Productive zone LCM will be employed to combat this. On the R-36i well,
returns were also not obtained while cementing the casing in place. Losses should be cured
before attempting to run casing. Risk of differential sticking is expected based on offset wells,
but should be mitigated by the use of Quikdriln drilling fluid which is solids free.
Ivishak
Differential sticking has occurred frequently in the Ivishak at 9183' TVD. Once the sticking
occurs it is very strong and has created difficulty in freeing up the drillstring. On R-35A, the
sticking was successfully alleviated by pumping a 20bbl pill of Liquid Casing, OM Seal, and
B arafibre and reducing pump rate to 5bpm (to reduce ECD). Note however that these wells were
drilled using LSND mud; since the TTRD wells will employ solids free Quikdriln, this should
mitigate the risk of sticking. High torque has been reported on several wells in the production
hole, hence some open hole lubrication may be required. The pad data sheet incorporates R, F
and J pad wells whose bottom hole location are all in the same area. Wells from all three pads
have experienced problems with bridges, tight hole, differential sticking, and packing off in the
production interval. This has caused numerous incidents of stuck logs, casing, and drillstring. Be
alert while driling this interval and employ frequent reaming if any sign of unstable hole is seen.
Disposal
All cuttings should be hauled to the ball mill at CC-2A for disposal. Haul all drilling and
completion fluids and other Class II wastes to CC-2A for injection. Haul all Class I wastes to Pad
3 for disposal.
Vector Magnetics
Following DEAP anti-collision scanning it has been found that there is a nearby well which
cannot easily obtain exemption to allow drill by. For this reason, a Vector Magnetics conductor
will be set in the R-20i well allowing the close approach tolerance between the R-25ai candidate
and the R-20i well to be much more accurately determined. The drilling assembly will make use
of the Vector Magnetics tool over the approximately 800' interval required to ensure that any
potential collisions are avoided.

Pre-Rig Work:
.

.
,
NOTE: If any problems with the 9-5/8" packoff are observed during pre-rig work,
contact the wellhead manufacturer to initiate repairs. If repairs are not possible, the TTRD
sidetrack will be halted, and an alternative sidetrack method used.
This well is an injector, and the existing perforations will be thermally fractured. This
means that the perforations will likely drink most or all of a standard cement plug. For
this reason, it is recommended that a 20ppb aggregate cement plug is pumped until some
squeeze pressure is obtained.
If tubing and annulus have not recently (_<1 month) been tested R/U wireline and retrieve
SSSV. Set tubing plug in SWN nipple. Perform MIT on tubing and annulus to 4,000psi.
Retrieve tubing plug and POOH.
RIH and drift tubing to plug back TD with drift to ensure whipstock (3.635" OD) pass
through of minimum 3.8" OD.
R/U CT unit and RIH to PBTD at 10,522' (elm) with cementing BHA. Spot a balanced
cement plug w/20ppb aggregate (crushed brick) from base of the well to 10,200' (open
perforations from 10,259' to 10,522'), pumping against a closed choke until 1,000psi
squeeze pressure is seen. Attempt to squeeze 5bbls of cement to perforations. Run back in
hole to _+10,298', circulating out excess cement with contaminant to obtain the required
TOC at +10,298'. POOH.
NOTE: If necessary to prevent loss of cement, excess hydrostatic overbalance may be
removed from the cement column by partial circulation of the well to a diesel cushion.
Pick up under-reamer sized for 7" 26# casing, and under-ream interval from 10,222' to
10,298' to ensure good casing for whipstock to set in. Tag TOC as required for AOGCC
representative and POOH. M/U 4.5" OD milling assembly and RIH. Mill out SWN nipple
at 9,972' to 4.5".
NOTE: The under-reamer will be working across a perforated interval and hence care
must be taken not to damage or lose any parts of the under-reamer arms
R/U electric line. Set Baker through tubing whipstock oriented highside with top of
whipstock at 10,252'. This will put the top of the whipstock 3' MD below the base of the
Kingak formation which is known to be troublesome. Do not set the top of the whipstock
any higher than 10,252'. Please have a Baker representative on site when setting the
whipstock. R/D electric line.

Rig Work:
Prior to rig move, test 9-5/8" packoff to 5,000psi, and function lock down screws (FMC
wellhead representative to do this). If any problems with the 9-5/8" packoff are observed,
contact the wellhead manufacturer to initiate repairs. If repairs are not possible, the TTRD
sidetrack will be halted, and an alternative sidetrack method used.
2. MIRU. Pull BPV and set/test TWCV. ND tree, NU BOP's and test same. Pull TWCV.
RIH with 4.5" drilling assembly (circulate out freeze protection) and tag TD of new hole.
Displace well to Quikdriln drilling fluid, and drill 4.5" hole section to TD of 13,081' as per
directional plan.
NOTE: Vector Magnetics close approach system will be used to ensure that any potential
collisions with the nearby R-20i well are avoided.
4. RIH with DPC logs and make logging run across open hole section from window to TD.
