Ca~mm~~~~d-, Anchorope ~0~~031~ ~/-~ 1 ~ I Enclosed please find multiple copies of a spreadsheet with a list of wells from GPB V- Pad that were treated with corrosion inhibitor in the surface casing by conductor annulus. The corrosion inhibitor is engineered to prevent water from entering the annular space and causing external corrosion that could result in a surface casing leak to atmosphere. The attached spreadsheet represents the well name, API and PTD numbers, top of cement depth prior to filling and volumes of corrosion inhibitor used in each conductor. As per previous agreement with the AOGCC, this letter and spreadsheet serve as notification that the treatments took place and meet the requirements of form 10-404, Report of Sundry Operations. If you require any additional information, please contact me or my alternate, Anna Dube, at 659-5102. Sincerely, Torin Roschinger BPXA, Well Integrity Coordinator ~ . BP Exploration (Alaska ) inc. It should be possible to issue by tomorrow, barring anything unforeseen. Tom Kolstad, Scott R wrote, On 3/13/2007 10:36 AM: Tom, As discussed, we would like to request an expedited approval of the V-121 i permit to drill due to a surface casing leak on V-201 A. If approved, Nabor Rig 9ES would be moving onto well V-1211 on Wednesday 3/14/07 in the afternoon. ', A surface casing leak was discovered on V-201A during the pre rig work. On Monday evening, 3/12/07, additional pre rig work was being conducted on V-201A resulting in a higher leak rate. Given the condition of V-201 A, we would like additional time to evaluate options for repair on V-201A. Please advise with a verbal approval if possible so a contingency well can be prepared if it is not possible to approve V-121 in this short time span. Based on prior wells this would be ± 1000' MD, but varies from well to well. While the paddle is out the rig would still be monitoring pit volumes to detect any gain and would be using PVT alarms to help detect this. Also, visual observations during connections would ensure the well is not flowing. Thanks, Scott Original Message----- '' ~:;.~-. ,. -, `, ~. If approved, Nabor Rig 9ES would be moving onto well V-121 i on Wednesday 3/14/07 in the afternoon. A surface casing leak was discovered on V-201A during the pre rig work. On Monday evening, 3/12/07, additional pre rig work was being conducted on V-201A resulting in a higher leak rate. Given the condition of V-201A, we would like additional time to evaluate options for repair on V-201 A. Please advise with a verbal approval if possible so a contingency well can be prepared if it is not possible to approve V-121 in this short time span. Thanks for your prompt attention to this permit application. Sincerely, _Scott Kolstad. BP Drilling Engineer 564-5347 W 748-2598 C 1 of 1 3/13/200'7 10:38 AM FRANK H. MURKOWSKI, GOVERNOR DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES 550 WEST 7r"AVENUE, SUITE 800 ANCHORAGE, ALASKA 99501-3560 DIVISION OF OIL AND GAS PHONE: (907) 269-8800 FAX: (907) 269-8938 CERTIFIED MAIL RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED July 11 2006 Frank Paskavan GPB West Manager BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc. P.O. Box 196612 Anchorage, Alaska 99519-6612 r~~~"'~~ Subject: Prudhoe Bay Unit, Well V-121 i Tract Operation with BHL on ADL 047450 Dear Mr. Paskavan: On June 20, 2006 BPXA requested approval to drill and complete the V-121 i Kuparak River sand water and miscible injectant (MI) injection Well on ADL 047450. The June 20, 2006 letter indicates that the. proposed bottomhole location is outside the Borealis Participating Area (BPA) and below the field-wide oil-water-contact. In response to Division questions, BPXA provided the following additional information by email June 26, 2006: The oil-water-contact (OWC) at Borealis is mapped at -6655' tvdss, with nearest offset wells V-120 and V-103. V-106A is an updip horizontal producer that doesn't penetrate the OWC. As presently mapped the 6655' contour on Top Kuparuk reservoir (TKC4) is close to the PA boundary. Prognosed depth to top of the Kuparuk reservoir at V-1211 based on current mapping is 6700' tvdss +/- 30 feet and we do not expect to find oil in the V-121i penetration. V-1211 is being drilled to provide pressure support to the horizontal producer V-106A that was drilled in 2005. Following completion of V-121 i, the top Kupaurk reservoir map will be updated, at which time BPXA will re-evaluate the likelihood of oil in paying quantities outside the present PA and the need for any possible expansion of the Borealis PA as suggested by the Division. Considering all of the information provided, Tract Operations to drill, complete, and operate the V- 121 iinjector, as proposed, are approved until June 30, 2007 subject to the following terms and conditions: 1. BPXA shall provide the Division with the following data within 60 days of V-121 i completion: "Develop, Conserve, and Enhance Natural Resources for Present and Future Alaskans." i • Digital and hardcopy maps of the updated top Kuparuk reservoir map and associated grids (as soon as generated); ~ estimates of water and hydrocarbon fluid contacts in V-121i, adjacent producers, and regionally, including any revised structure and OOIP maps and geologic cross-sections through adjacent BPA wells; and digital copies of all logs for V-1211, V-106A and V-120 (LAS format, final ,depth shifted logs). 2. If oil in paying quantities are mapped or identified outside the BPA boundary, BPXA shall submit an application to revise the BPA boundary and the tract allocation schedule, consistent with Article 5.3 of the PBU agreement and 11 AAC 83.356. If a revised PA application is needed, it should be timely submitted to the extent possible so that the Division may issue a decision prior to the expiration of this tract operation approval. 3. Well V-1211 is approved for water and MI injection only. 4. Injection shall be into the Kuparuk Reservoir formation. A person affected by this decision may appeal it, in accordance with 11 AAC 02. Any appeal must Abe°received within~20 calendar days after the date of "issuance" of this decision, as defined in I 1 AAC 02.040(c) and (d) and may be mailed or delivered to Mr. Michael Menge, Commissioner, Department of Natural Resources, 550 W. 7th Avenue, Suite 1400, Anchorage, Alaska 9950.1; faxed to 1-907-269-8918, or sent by electronic mail to dnr appeals:i;;dnr.state.ak.us. This decision takes effect immediately. An eligible person must first appeal this decision in accordance with 11 AAC 02 before appealing this decision to Superior Court. A copy of 11 AAC 02 may be obtained from any regional information office of the Department of Natural Resources.
