ARCO Alaska, Inc., proposes to convert well 1E-24 to a selective single completion. The procedure will be as follows: 1. Well will be killed with brine. Weight to be determined after running pressure bomb. 2. Current completion assembly will be pulled. 3. A retrievable packer will be run to test for zone isolation between the A and C sand, and to test casing integrity. A squeeze will be performed, if required. 4. The well will be completed as a selective single and 5000# wellhead equipment will be installed. 5. After the rig is released, an acid and/or frac job will be done. A 13-5/8", $O00'psi, SRRA BOP stack will be used on well work. BOP equipment will be tested weekly and operationally tested each trip. A non-freezing fluid will be left in all uncemented annuli within the permafrost interval. A 5000 psi WP wireline lubricator will be used and tested on all wireline work. The subsurface safety valve will be installed and tested upon conclusion of the job. Selected intervals will be logged. A 20", 2000 psi annular diverter will be installed on the 16" conductor while drilling the surface hole. A 13-5/8", 5000 psi, RSRRA BOPE stack will be installed on the 10-3/4" surface pipe. It will be tested upon installation and weekly thereafter. Test pressure will be 3000 psig (1800 psi for annular). Maximum expected surface pressure is 2559 psig. Pressure calculations are based on current reservoir pressure. Surface pressure calculated with uhexpanded gas bubble at surface including temperature effects. The well will be completed with'3-1/2", 9,2#, J-55 buttress tbg. Non-freezing fluids will be left in uncemented annuli through the permafrost interval. Selected intervals will be perforated within the Kuparuk formation and reported on subsequent reports. A downhole safety valve will be installed and tested upon completion of the job. See attached analysis of well crossings. 23. This distance was calculated using the proposed we~a for 1E-25 and assuming that well 1E-24 will be drilled directionally as planned. Well 1E-25 will have a cone of uncertainty of 21' in diameter at the depth at which the minimum distance occurs. Well 1E-24 will have an ellipse of uncertainty of 42' across its major axis at the depth of interest. The areas of uncertainty for the two wells will therefore not intersect. ARCO proposes that the following procedures be used to drill well 1E-24 safely past well 1E-25: 1. As the 13-1/2" surface hole is drilled vertically to 2200', single shot surveys will be taken to ensure that the hole has not deviated in the wrong direction. 2. If calculations show that an intersection of 32' or less is to occur, then appropriate steps will be taken using the kickoff assembly to impart a small angle (3°±) in a north-easterly direction. The distance of 32' corresponds to the intersection of the areas of uncertainty. 3. If calculations indicate that a crossing of 32' or less is eminent, well 1E-25 will be shut in and casing and tubing pressures monitored until a safe crossing is evident. 1E-24/West Sak River. State #2 At total depth (7235' MD), the proposed well 1E-24 will be within 111' from the p]_u_g__qed and abandoned well West Sak River State #2. This distance was calculated assuming West' Sak River State #2 to be vertical and assuming that well 1E-24 will be drilled directionally as planned. West Sak River State #2 has a maximum cone of departure of 214' in diameter at the depth at which the minimum distance occurs. Well 1E-24 will have an ellipse of uncertainty of 470' across its major axis at the depth of interest. The areas of uncertainty for the two wells will therefore overlap by 231'. ~m~7 ~/~x~ /2, J~ ~-~7~ RECEIVED Oil & Gas Cons. ~mmission ~chorage ARCO proposes that the following procedures be used to drill 1E-24 safely to total depth: 1. By drilling to the low side of the target, the overlap between the areas of uncertainty will be eliminated. 2. If calculations show that an intersection of 342' or less is to occur, an angle drop assembly will be run at approximately 5500' to decrease the hole angle. The distance of 342' corresponds to the intersection of the areas of uncertainty. 3. If calculations indicate than an intersection of 342' or less is eminent, all drilling parameters will be closely monitored until total depth is safely reached.
