DESCRIPTION Of WORK COMPLETED
PRE-SIDETRACK CEMENT PLUG
04/15/98
A Cement Plugback was performed on the interval using the
following fluids:
SUMMARY
Rig in hole with 2-1/8" nozzle while killing the well w/KCL water. Well started
packing off at tubing volume pumped, so switch around to circulate down coil.
Tagged up in straddle packer, couldn't get through, POOH and change out
nozzle and add straight bar; RIH. Tag TD at 11,366' ctmd, pickup and pump 10
bbls cement from 11,352'. Checked weight and packoffs and lubricated pipe
once cement was over goose neck; 27k up. Tried to pull coil with I bbl cement
out nozzle but was stuck. Increased pump rate and cautiously bled off well head
gas to tank, spotted retarder. Tried surging well, pumping down both sides,
spotting diesel into cement, and many other things but to no avail. Rigged up
cementers and HB&R to backside and pumped in tandem getting 11 bpm
combined while pumping down coil, although this too was unsuccessful. Shut
down backside and surged remaining 600 psi wellhead to open top tank and
pulled free. Pulled out while flooding well with water attempting to cleanup
wellbore. Pipe was due for change out so sent CTU rig to spool on new pipe.
New pipe on CTU, had to rabbit the coil with ~" ball and perform BOP test.
Opened well, which was dead and RIH. Tagged TD at 11361' ctmd. Layed 10
bbls of cement from bottom up to 11105 and applied 1100 whp to squeeze.
Estimate ~,,~ bbl cement behind pipe. Reduce whp and POOH. Freeze protected
w/diesel to 2000' and left 475 psi on well. RDMO. Estimated Cement top at
11,105'.

Mar 20, 1998
From: Jeff Hupp, SSD MB 8/1
Subject: Q-06a TTRD sidetrack, Revised Pre-Rig Work
AFE: 4P 1073
The Q-06a TTRD sidetrack is currently scheduled for Doyon 16 on or before Ma~ i0th, 1998. Call
the rig rep @ 659 4610, or the Operations Engineer (Michael Jackson, Winton ........ Aubert, or Jeff Hupp)
@ 564 5480 for a more up to date timing of the rig move.
The objective of the Q-06a sidetrack is to optimize Q pad GD area production through a program of
horizontalizing conventional wells to maximize oil rate and gas standoff as production rates from the
original conventional completions become uncompetitive.
The existing 7" tubing string will be left in place for this TTRD well. Existing perforations will be
abandoned, and a 5.910" window milled in the 7" casing. A 5.875" hole section will then be drilled,
building angle to approximately 91degrees while drilling the target polygon (giving a slow rise to the
tail of the wellbore). MWD logs will be taken as the well is drilled, although MAD passes may also be
required. Should the MWD logs prove useless, a contingency to run DPC logs is also allowed for in
the AFE. Once TD is reached, a 4-1/2" IBT liner will be run and cemented. The well will finally be
DPC perforated by the.rig.
The procedure was revised to include a slickline drift run to determine if underreaming is
required. The requested pre-rig work and proposed rig work follows.
Pre-Rig Work:
NOTE: If any problems with the 9-5/8" packoff are observed during pre-rig work, contact the
wellhead manufacturer to initiate repairs. If repairs are not possible, the TTRD sidetrack will
be halted, and an alternative sidetrack method used.
Please copy the operations drilling engineer on daily reports, and call with any difficulties.
NOTE: Ail depths listed in the steps below are referenced to Doyon 16 Kelly Bushing
Elevation of 66.09' for this well.
.
R/U wireline and retrieve SSSV. If tubing and annulus have not recently (_<1 month) been
tested, test 7"x 9-5/8" tubing annulus to 3,000psi, looking for pressure increases on tubing and
13-3/8" casing. A successful test will be considered proof of a successful tubing integrity test
and 9-5/8" integrity test. If the tubing/9-5/8" do not test, notify the operations drilling engineer
before proceeding.

RU slickline unit and drift tubing to Baker FB-1 packer depth at 11129' (elmd) with dummy
drift to ensure whipstock (5.910" OD) will pass through successfully. Check that Otis sliding
sleeve is open. If Otis sliding sleeve is closed, RIH with shifting tool and open sliding sleeve.
P+A existing perforations at 11,140'-11,145' and 11,265-11,335', attempting to squeeze 5
bbls of cement to the perforations. Minimum TOC for AOGCC regulations is 11,040', but the
highest depth which must be cemented to is 11,105'. Do not bring top of cement any
.higher than 11~105' in order to leave room for a kick off below Zone 3. AOGCC will be
notified of this arrangement.
NOTE: If necessary to prevent loss of cement, circulate well to a diesel cushion sufficient to
remove hydrostatic overbalance from the cement column.
RU slickline unit and drift tubing to TOC depth at 11105'MD with dummy drift to ensure
whipstock (5.910" OD) and CIBP will pass through the 7" tbg and liner successfully. Be
extremely slow and careful around the SSSV nipple, which has an ID of 5.962 Tag TOC if
required for AOGCC representative and pressure test the plug to standard test pressure. POOH
w/slickline.
If the SL drift run tags TOC above 11,105', pick up underreamer sized for 7" 29# casing
(ensure fit through SSSV nipple), and underream interval to 11,105' to ensure good casing for
bridge plug to set in. Tag TOC w/underreamer if required for AOGCC representative and
pressure test the plug to standard test pressure. POOH.
R/U electric line. Set Baker bridge plug using GR/CCL correlation at -11,100'. This will
allow a whipstock kick off, exiting the casing at -8,747' TVDSS, 11,089' MD.
The objective will be to put the top of the whipstock below the base of the Zone 3
formation which is difficult to drill, using GR/CCL locator.
If cement plugback problems are encountered, please contact SSD Ops Drilling Engineer
immediately for possible alternative procedures.
Circulate kill weight fluid and freeze protect with diesel (estimated BHP at 8800'TVDSS is
3,360psi - 7.3ppg EMW) to depth of_2,200
8. Set and test BPV. Remove wellhouse and flowlines, level pad, dig out cellar.

Prior to rig move, test 9-5/8" packoff to 5,000psi, and function lock down screws (FMC
wellhead representative to do this). If any problems with the 9-5/8" packoff are observed,
contact the wellhead manufacturer to initiate repairs. If repairs are not possible, the TTRD
sidetrack may be halted, and an alternative sidetrack method used.
2. MIRU. Pull BPV and set/test TWCV. ND tree, NU BOP's and test same. Pull TWCV.

Be extremely slow and careful around the SSSV nipple which has an ID of 5.962". Rill limit
is 90seconds/stand. Record up and down weights prior to tagging bridge plug with whipstock.
Set whipstock on bridge plug with down weight. Mill out/dress window to 5.910". Do not mill
out more formation than is needed to bury the window dressing mill.
.
RIH with 5.875" drilling assembly and tag TD of milled section. Displace well to Quikdriln
drilling fluid, and drill 5.875" hole section to TD of 12,537' as per directional plan with LWD
GR/Res/Neu/Den equipment. MAD passes will be made as required.
Note: The depth and trajectory of the horizontal section may change depending on the depth at
which the HOT is encountered. Expected depth is 8,960' TVDSS, but if found early, the
wellbore will be modified to bring the well out of the HOT as quickly as possible.
Note: DPC logging will not be required unless the LWD results are unusable. The AFE
contains contingency for a DPC logging run if this becomes necessary.
.
M/U and run 2,637' of 4-1/2" solid L80 IBT-Mod liner (X nipple 2 joints below TOL) to hang
off depth in 7" tubing of _+9,900'. Cement liner in place with Baker 2-7/8" inner string
cementing assembly. Circulate out excess cement, and displace well to clean seawater. POOH.
6. RI/-I with DPC perforating guns and perforate -600' of liner with 2-3/4" guns, using minimum

A GSO Gel Squeeze was performed using the following fluids:
SUMMARY
Run in hole with 2.45" nozzle. (Pump sea water down coil and
diesel down backside while running in hole). Tag top of sand at
11269' CTD. Make a (-) 29 ft correction. Now on depth to WL tag of
6/10/94. Pull above "SWS" nipple and park nozzle. Send truck for
Maraseal and start pumping sea water for borehole "Kool-down".
First truck was "Rejected" due to oily residue inside tank. Call out
second truck. Mix cross-linker and load out truck. Maraseal
arrived on location. BJ pumped Maraseal as designed and
displaced with sea water. Average pumping rate 1.0 bpm. Average
treating pressure 1940 psi. Put a total of 190 bbls "Behind pipe".
Leave 6 bbls in liner. Pull out of hole with coil tubing and nozzle.
Close swab valve and remove fusible cap. Rig down unit. Leave
well shut in. Notify Pad operator and MOC.

drilled out of the 13 3/8" casing and that Schlumberger was rtEuming an
E.T.T. log and would run a c~ment bond log. The Schlumberger tools would
not go inside the casing, a 13 3/8" casing scraper was picked up and run
in the hole with the drill pipe. After reaching bottcm the cc~~ted
~ was circulated and treated. The pipe was then pulled out of the hole
and ~ Schlumberger E.T.T. log was run. After the E.T.T. log was run,
the cement bond log was ~un. After the Schl~zberg~r tools w~re rigged
down the B.O.P.E. tests began at 2:30
~ B.O.P.E ~, ~i~ of 1 anmllar preventer, 2 sets of 5" pipe
rams, 1 set of blind ~, 2 kill lines cc~sis~ of 2 manual valves on
each line. The choke line ~isted of 1 manual val~ and 1 HCR valve.
~ we ~ ~ tt~ b~ rams, the ~ clamps ~ the
~ spool ~ b~ rams ar~ be~ tl~ blitx:l rams and the pipe
rams developed leaks. These clamps ~,re tigh~ and the leaks ~
st~ped. After the test of the B.O.P.E stack, two kill lines and the
~ ~fold o0~si~ of 16 manual valves, 2 adjustable chokes and
1 hydraulic ~ ~ was tested.
~ B.O.P~E, ~ I~nes, kill lines, valves amd flanges w~xe all tested
to 5000 psig in separate ~ with the ex~ of the annular ~
~ which was tested to 2500 psig.
The aocummlator unit was ~ next. The anm~ar ~ter and 2 sets
of pipe rams ~ ~ ~ ~ ~IR valve was opened with the power
shut off of the uDit~ ~ pressure ~ frcm a full charge of 3100
psig to 1260 psig. The ~ ~ then turned cn and a 250 psig increase
was at. rained in 45 ~ and a shut off pressure of 3100 psig in 2
minutes and 50 seoum~.
The N2 back ~ bottle ~ pressures ~ 2300, 2400, 2400 and 2350
psig.
~ tests ~ o0~cl~ at 8:30 PM. At this thre, I m~t with Mr.
Moore, Sohio drill/rig foreman and looksd at the cene~t bc~d log. The
log ~ good ~ ~ between 1800 feet and 2670 feet. The log
firm ~ of ~ quality and ~ log o~ld not be read with any accuracy
~ 1750 feet.
In ~, I wi~ the B.O.P.E. test cn Sohio PBU Q-6.
